ColdFusion

We have a few ColdFusion 9.0.1 servers that are humming along and I would like to patch up them to the latest available updates, as I haven't patched them in a few years.  It looks like ColdFusion Security hot fix APSB14-23 contains hotfix 12 which is the latest I can find so far.  Can anyone confirm this is the latest available for 9.0.1?

I tried to learn to use cf component by creating a simple cfc. All I want to do within the cfc is to provide 1 query so within the application this query doesn't have to be created many times. Hello All,     I am running CF8 and I would like to implement a text box that would auto-complete with a drop down. I would like it to work as if I was using Outlook to look up a person in the Data-base.

I may be missing something simple, but here's a problem I'm having and am looking for, hopefully, a simple solution. Right now we have an 8 hour session limit. This is set up via Application.cfc and is working. However, if the user is idle for less than 8 hours after initial logon, then is active on the site right up until the 8 hour limit, the session doesn't reset. The user gets logged off while active at the 8 hour mark. Case scenario:- 2pm - User logs on. The 8 hour session begins and expires at 10pm.- 9pm - User resumes session after being idle. 7 hours elapsed in the session- 10pm - User is still active on the site, but the session expires. If they access personal information, they get a message that they need to log on. Is there a way to reset the beginning of the session at the 9pm mark so that the user isn't logged off while they're active on the site?

Last Saturday I ordered an upgrade from CFB 2 to CFB 2016 through Adobe site. In Adobe site they were saying I have to wait 24 hours for the paying process. Yesterday after 48 hours the process ..was under process and I was still waiting.Meanwhile they already were displaying the SN of the upgrade that I still had not.Today I see the paying process is over, Adobe has got the money from my card, they have issued an invoice, but they still don't give a link to download it.!!!  In the page with all my downloads and orders they say payment is OK they have link to the invoice, BUT clicking on downloads page I see all downloaded software with the links, BUT there is no link for the paid product. Does anybody have an idea what the heck is happening???Do they want me to pay again???? 🙂Please notice that I ordered UPGRADE. So I guess can' t download the full CFB from Adobe site and use the given upgrade SN. Could they mean that??? They don't give any info about it in my orders page

I'm generating small (2.25"x1.25") labels with a barcode using cfreport and saving as PDF. If I open the PDF in Acrobat everything looks exactly as expected and printing directly to a Zebra label printer works perfectly. But when I try to send the same PDF file to the same printer using cfprint, the labels are offset by about half an inch and no longer align with the labels. The printing is also lighter and not as sharp. I've tried setting cfprint arguments for scaling and quality and just about everything else, but can't get the printing to look the same as a direct print from Acrobat Reader. I'm using CF2016 on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard.Anybody have any ideas as to what could be going on?

Hello all,I'll admit we're pretty far behind with our CF server version and patching. But we're trying to catch up.We just recently patched one of our two production servers and noticed an issue with our cookies. Previous to the patch, CF would give a cookie that expires in 2048. After the patch, it gave a cookie that expires at the end of the session.But when we went live with that server after the patch, anyone who had one of the 2048 cookies had to kill their cookies and get the new cookies. If it were up to me, I would've just patched the second server and had them all update their cookies (a few days of pain, but over and done with). But the corner-office folks decided to pull the patched server out of the cluster and try to figure something else out regarding the cookies. So, now all the users have gotten 2048 cookies again.So, now I'm trying to figure out how to dynamically delete the 2048 cookies when they hit the site, and give them the new "at the end of the session" cookies.

Hello all,I've been developing a coldfusion page that will email a student and faculty member when a form is requested. I had to provide an email and password in the local Coldfusion Administrator page in order for it to email. I am now attempting to run these pages on a remote server and have been told that I do not need to provide email credentials on the remote Coldfusion Administrator page, that only the mail server is required. However I am not having luck and think that I was incorrectly informed about this. Can anyone confirm/deny?

Hi,I am trying to run the following C:\temp\test.bat file using cfexecute@echo offstart iexplore.exe www.google.com<cfexecute name = "c:\temp\test.bat" timeout="1"></cfexecute>The test.bat file opens up internet explorer when I call it from a Windows command, but the CF script does not do anything.  When I googled the problem, a couple people suggested that it might be a permission issue, ie. ColdFusion service does not run as admin in Windows. However, there is no mention of how to fix it.My questions are:1. Is this true that CF service does not run as admin eventhough me as the user is an admin?  I have no problem with cffile writing to C:\temp.2.  How do I run CF service as an admin?  I use Windows Vista as my OS. We're trying to connect to LDAP for authentication, and although it works for some users, it's giving this error for some. all users are in the same OU and are created the same way. how can I get more information in order to fix the issue (assuming it has to do with the users accounts):DetailOne or more of the required attributes may be missing or incorrect or you do not have permissions to execute this operation on the server. windows 2008/tomcat 8/iis 7.5. Does no one install Coldfusion on an existing java server like Tomcat?  I ask because I've been searching adobe and googling for weeks now, and I have yet to come across anything remotely close to a complete install guide.  There are a few 1 page articles on adobe about ear/war file deployment, but nothing about further setup of API manager or any of the add-on services.  And maybe my google-fu was weak lately, but I have never found an article about anyone deploying a war in tomcat, then setting up iis isapi_redirect, then setting up api manager, etc..  The most frustrating thing, is that it is hard to translate the dozens of articles about the built-in web server, to a war/ear deployment. For instance, {CF Install}\config\wsconfig\ which is referred to all over doesn't exist in tomcat/webapps/cfusion.  For the isapi_redirect.dll, I was able to connect tomcat to IIS and serve up a cfml page after some experimentation, but now I'm

We upgraded from CF10 to CF12 and some drive configurations and now CFZIP code no longers works.The files we are trying to zip are now on a virtual drive, which I have setup on the IIS webserver, where as the old locationwas  a drive attached to the webserver and assigned a local drive letter.Do the old location was like e:\logs\filename.extthe new location is something like http:\\webserver\logs1\filename.ext ( where logs1 is the virtual drive )No matter what I am getting a basically file not found error when trying to access the virtual drive.Any help would be greatly appreciated, Note, I am not the expert coldfusion programmer...Regards

I saw the post about everyone's favorite ColdFusion IDE and I believe I've tried them all and can't really pick a favorite but I do like the features in CF builder.  I wanted to know if there were any other good IDEs besides CFEclipse that can connect to Team Foundation Server (TFS)?

Hi. Is anyone aware of any configuration file or -D argument for Performance management suite which can be set to enable the Monitoring->Basic->Enable Monitoring and Monitoring->Basic->Enable CF Admin Monitoring?Currently I use the silent install for CF 2018 + CF 2018 PMS to install and configure them but without this flag being set PMS doesnt show any metrics.   I think this flag appears that its stored in elasticsearch.ThanksNeil

We have been checking code for a total upgrade from MX 7 on Sever 2008.  The migration is to Coldfusion 2016 on MS Server 2016 (IIS 10).One issue that sticks out, (among many) is a possible code issue where a page link or submit button hangs in Google Chrome but not on MS Explorer or Firefox.If we transition around the site, clicking links, immediately in Chrome the link connections work as expected.  If we let the Chrome browser sit still on a page for a couple minutes, and then click a link, it hangs without resolving.  The click-through works if double-clicked.All other browsers used have no issues, just Chrome.  We use a mix of PC's running Win7, Win 10 with same results.

We recently put our CF 2016 and MS Server 2016 online for production.  While checking for self-induced errors, several external checking tools show that our site is not configured for http/2.   Redirects for http to https are in place as are the proper SSL certs. No errors discovered there.Local tests, suggested on internet posts, do show we are configured to serve http/2 and log files show the same.  However, looking at our jakarta redirect urls on the IIS logs may indicate that http/2 are being converted to http/1.  The Tomcat log shows, virtually, every query as http/1.Is there anything that I am missing on either IIS 10 or CF 2016 settings? 

After installing Update 14 in CF11 CF administrator page (or any .cfm content) is unreachable.  When trying to reach administrator at http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm the server reports a 400 error.I inherited this server and the current task from a previous Sys Admin who is no longer with us.  From everything I've read in the forums, it is configured incorrectly, in that the Web Server Configuration tool shows Configured Web Servers:All...plus the sub-sites individually...Which appears to be redundant.So, I used the wsconfig tool (ran as admin) to remove then add the sites [(did not include All), also, to further muddy the waters, we have SiteMinder installed (.net)]When I load the CFIDE Administrator page, I can successfully login to SiteMinder, then I receive a "400" error from CF "the webpage cannot be found"However, somehow, despite the odd configuration, the server works fine under Update 13...it also works fine under Update 14 if I remove/rename the IIS w

I am trying to add a barcode font (free 3 of 9) using the administrator's Font Management page. What I end up with is this:Notice that the Font Family, Font Face  etc are all called 'New'. The problem is that the font can't be displayed in a PDF document (works fine in a normal page). There doesn't appear to be a way to edit Font Family etc.I'm trying this with ColdFusion 2016  update 6 on Windows 2012 R2. We do not have this problem with our ColdFusion 9/Windows 2003 system. On that system the font shows up like this in the Font Management Page (not sure why there are two of them):and the font displays fine in PDFs:Any suggestions as to what might be wrong or how to fix it?ThanksBob

I've been reading a lot about object oriented programming (OOP) and domain driven design (DDD) over the past few months.  I've also been trying to wrap my head around how I can implement OOP coding styles into my daily CFML application development.  Most of the time you'll see OOP/DDD applied towards solving rather complex problems, which makes sense in terms of using it for production purposes.  However, when trying to learn a concept sometimes it makes sense to take something simple and make it a little more complicated in order to learn.  In other words, I need to learn how to walk before I can run.What I've done is set up a simple model for a user registration system that will be used on a web site.  I'm sure we've all built tons of these things - a user visits a web site where they are asked to enter their name, email address, password, etc...  My goal was to take what I've learned about OOP so far and apply it to a scenario like this.In my reading ab
