ColdFusion

After installing Update 14 on CF2021, we're seeing intermittent query errors with the message [Oracle JDBC Driver]arraycopy: destination index -1 out of bounds.   Could this be a driver issue?  We're connecting to an Oracle 19c v19.23.0.0.0.  I see several ojdbc jar files on the web server; ojdbc8.jar being the highest version.     Any thoughts?   [Editorial: Corrected the update number reported here, based on subsequent information provided in this thread.)

Is it possible to do an in place upgrade of Coldfusiton 2018 to 2023?  Keep it on the same server and just update the version of coldfusion?  If we install it on the system and have both versions of Coldfusion on the server, how do we reconfigure it so it uses the correct version?  Can we uninstall the old version once the new version is installed?

I am trying to update our ColdFusion server from version 13 to 14, and then to 15. We are running pn Windows Server 2022 and using latest version of IIS. Hello, We have few internal tasks that try to query our SMA(Systems Management Appliance) to fetch some data on our CF 2023 stack.However, we have been getting  a specific error mentioned below. Surprisingly, the error seems to be intermittent. It works sometimes and fails later after trying consecutively  Error is: Error Executing Database Query.: Communications link failure The last packet successfully received from the server was 48 milliseconds ago. I had multiple sites serving OK from IIS as part of a platform migration from CF 2018 to CF2023.After applying my agency's wildcard cert in the IIS Bindings panel for each site, both would load correctly browsing from the IIS Management context (I have a hosts file to resolve for loopback), but one of them respondes with a 404 from the servlet container when request is from a remote host and another loades normally when remote request. I pretty familiar with wsconfig and the webserver connector implementation but have never seen this happen before. I've deleted the connector configurations and rebuilt them both individually and a a single 'all websites' wsconfig configuration. Restart IIS and the CF Application service, and clearing cfclasses as well.I've also deleted the websites in IIS and wsconfig files, starting over (rinse/repeat). Again, this misbehavior only happened after applying SSL binding. I don't have the AJP communication SSL'd, only the HTTPS protocol.. BT

Anyone know what's up with the pdf service page in 2023? I just upgraded one of our test servers and every time I go to the pdf service page to see the new pdf service settings, I get a the error page. Working on some legacy code that runs fine in older CF versions like 10~16, and hitting an error while trying to migrate to (Developer) CF 2021,0,15,330303 on Win 11 for a client. The line producing the error is:  <cfreport template="#struReturn.reportGen.cfrTemplate#" query="#struReturn.reportGen.queryName#" format="PDF" filename="#struReturn.reportGen.outputFilename#"> (yes, the source cfr is there, and the line is not even called if the query is empty) The error is:Report compilation error.  Premature end of file.Which implies that the server cannot handle or decrypt the cfr, or parse the resulting xml internally (?). I have tried placing the patch file hf202100-4212391.jar in the \cfusion\lib\updates\ folder - as prescribed in a similar issue here. The jar is still there after restarting the service. I don't know if this is relevent, but since UPDATE 15 the CF Admin keeps insisting that 6 modules are not installed: document, htmltopdf,

Okay I kinda feel like I am going crazy. I installed CF23 on my Mac apparently using the Built-In web server. The customer's site I am working on is kinda funky and they use a URL rewrite to hid the file names and query string params ... soooo I abandoned that install and I loaded IIS on a borrowed laptop and when I install ColdFusion 2023 I don't see where I get the choice to NOT use the built in web server. I want to hook into IIS so I can use the rewrite things ... is there some configuration thing I messed up that didn't allow me to install without the Built-In server? Is it because I installed the Developer's versions?  I feel like I am going mental here.

When I configure the connector for IIS in 2016 vesion, it prompt error "all the iis sites are already configured by some other version of coldfusion", how can I removed the configured IIS for other version? Thanks

Is there any reason why a ColdFusion developer would use HomeSite as a development platform instead of DreamWeaver? It seems the newest Dreamweaver interface would be particularly useful for any ColdFusion developer. Would it raise a red flag for you if a developer said they only use HomeSite? I realize this is a strange question, but please give me your thoughts. thanks!

Dear I have a server with Windows Server 2012 R2 and a CF 2021 in production, we have a problem with the request tunning configured on the server(240) that sometimes arrives to the maximum configured and the service goes down. Sometimes is necesary a restart the service for continues with the service. The Datasource PostgreSQL configured on the client is configureded to Restrict connections to 210.We had the same configurations implemented on a CF 2016 and a service of monitoring without problems.The update of CF2021 is the version 13, I attach a snapshot about that.We activate a service of monitoring FusionReactor and the requests goes up until double or more of connections, so the system is very loaded and blocks easier. So we don't know what's happening we attach some snapshot about cfstat, FusionReactor and request tunning configured. I hope you can help meBest regards.                    

We're running some tests and were wondering if code inside a CFTHREAD block actually runs the calling page's Application.cfc file?  Our initial throught is: no.  We've run a couple tests to indicate the answer is: no.  But, I thought I'd post the question here since we found no documentation online on the matter. Our test involved putting a 'hit counter' in an Application file's onRequest() method to log page hits to a DB.  We then ran a CFTHREAD block on the page.  The hit count showed just one page hit which, to us, would indicate only the page-level thread hit the application file and not the CFTHREAD invoked. Is this a sound experiment? Thanks, all

Hi, I have activated my license via offline activation on a Windows 2022 server now I was told to put the Windows 2022 server on hold and instead have ColdFusion on a Windows 2019 server instead. How do I go about of redoing the offline activation again?  There are old posts that mentioned of moving the licensekey but that is not working on ColdFusion 2023.  

Hello - I have a unqiue scenario where I installed the 2018 CF Add-On Service (obtained here https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-downloads.html#downloads2.) on a development server running on windows. No issues and the PDF service creates PDF's using cfhtmltopdf.  I took the same steps on the production server however even though the admin console validates that the pdf service is "OK", I get an error when trying to generate using cfhtmltopdf stating "No Service manager is available".  I have stopped and restarted the service along with the server. Windows reboots. Uninstalled and reinstalled the service add-on. Validated that the ports are available.   I'm at wits end as I can only work on this after hours so I can bring the server down if needed and I'm not sure what else to look at other than doing a complete CF reinstall, which I want to avoid if at all possibe.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

0I just installed ColdFusion 2018 Developer Edition on my Windows 10 laptop and configured it to use the built-in web server. Previously I was using ColdFusion 10.Now I have a case-sensitivity problem. For example, all css and js references are now case-sensitive, whereas they weren't when I was using ColdFusion 10. The same is true for calls to images and plain html files. I modified the context.xml file (in the /cfusion/runtime/conf folder) to include <Context AllowLinking="true" caseSensitive="true"> (and yes, I also tried caseSensitive="false") and have restarted several times, but no luck yet.The 404 error messages specify Apache Tomcat.Any ideas on how to restore case-insensitivity?
