ColdFusion

We have a legacy application with a sprawling directory of files. It is our suspicion that a large number of them were created for purposes long since forgotten. Because of the number of files, it would take a lot of time and effort to go through the directories and identify those which are no longer in use. I often use Search >> File to search file names and see if there are any files containing a file name string, but I would like to delete the extraneous files without doing this for each file in the application. Is there an easy way to identify all of the files which are not linked to other files in the application?

Hi, we recently had a security scan on one of our apps and we were dinged with "HTTP Response Splitting" issue. It occured on my .CFC pages. Below is what the testers performed on my CFC and the results.  I am running CF2018 Enterprise 2018.0.09.318650. I was curious if anyone had any suggestions on how to remediate this. My first step was to make sure "Enable Global Script Protection" was checked in the cfadmin, which it is. From there I believe the neo-security.xml file can be updated to help prevent CRLF injection, not sure what that would look like. Quite honestly I am not sure if that is the best or proper method. I get a little leary messing with some of the CF underlying files. Anyone have any other or better ideas? Thanks

I have create scheduled task in Coldfusion to run daily. Basically this task executes 1 URL every day which sends reminder emails for one of or web-app Now problem with this task1. It does not run automatically2. When I click on 'Run' in CF-Admin for this task - it says - This scheduled task was completed successfully. But actually task does nor run (I can confirm as no reminder emails are received for one of our web-app)3. When that URL which is scheduled in scheduled task - is run manually in browsver - it works and reminder emails are received4. One more thing I observed is - I scheduled task to run say at 06:30 AM but when I open the task - the time - it shows is something like this - {ts '1899-12-30 06:30:00'}

Hi,We are whitelisting IP address ranges to access our website in CF11 for my client. Every time the user hits the site my code will pull the IP address using HTTP.REMOTE_ADDR. Once the user hits our site , there are some real IP address coming in, which does not belongs to my or my clients network. While I was checking those IP it belongs to some ISP providers. So this restricts my users to access the site as it is not included in our whitelisting. Our CF server is not a proxy or load balancer. Even I tried to check if it is re-routing using CGI.HTTP_X_Forwarded_For. But it was not. Please help me to know if incoming new real  IP address can be controlled in our web server or in CF server? Or is there a way for the client to control these incoming IP address? Thanks,Jaya

Hello All- I've been using the CFform/CFtextarea richtext editor for years.  And it's been going well.I have just moved my applications to a new server.  In this move, I went up to CF2018, and the latest Windows/IIS versions.  (Server 2019, IIS v. 10) Just about everything is working perfectly, except that CKeditor will no longer display.  I just get a large blank space about the size that the editor window would be.  I have made a super simple page that should just show the textarea with richtext, and that page also does the same thing- big space for the editor, that is completely empty.  (Important, the textarea does not show up, there are no outlines, nothing.  Just a blank space on the page) On the pages where the editor should display, all of the proper .js pages are linked.  I can view the source, and follow those links and all go to valid files.   Could this be some sort of firewall or security issue?&nbs

I am trying to use Twilio to get rid of our fax machine (why do they still exist?!?). I've got inbound fax working but not outbound. Hi, Are there plans to update CF 2016 to address Tomcat vulnerabilities? Our customer has run Nessus scans on the server running our ColdFusion instance, and it's identified several Tomcat vulnerabilities, which are causing some concerns with the customer. CF 2016 with update 16 is currently using Tomcat 8.5.42. According to the Nessus scans, Tomcat should be upgraded to 8.5.58. Thanks!-Doug

Hello,   CFPDF apparently removes all adobe comments, post-it, highlighting when merging for the second time. For example merge "merge1.pdf" with another file. Then everything is ok. Merge again the result with "merge1.pdf" and you'll see that all adobe comments, post-it, highlighting on the first time disappear, and that they are only visible on the newly add file.   Is this a BUG in CF 2018? In the code example below I need to find ID when Country=US. In this code example, the result I need is found at results2.releases[5].ID however the order and number of results in the array vary depending on the JSON returned. I'm a librarian, not a programmer, who touches Coldfusion once every 4 years so sorry if this is a easy question.  Is there a way to have a 'next' button from a hit list of images, after you open one of the images?  http://apps.rplmn.org/ochs/Fireindex/  For example, search by folder 060. When you click on one of the images, is there a way to just click next to see the next image rather than having to go back to the list each time? Or a way to at least put a link on the opened image to go back to the list (so you don't have to use the browser back )? Thanks very much for any suggestions.  

Hello, We want to improve the performance of the CFDocument tag.  We are generating 6000 pdf pages using cfdocument by looping through a text file, formatting it and creating it using cfdocument tag. We are on CF 2018 Update 5. Regardless of how much RAM and CPU we are throwing at CF, we cannot seem to convice CF that that RAM/CPU is eligible for use for this process. Whether the server has 16 GB RAM or 256 GB, the PMT shows that there is no differnce in the perfomance, and the amount of time it takes to finish processing doesn't seem to depend on either RAM or CPU. Should we be looking elsewhere (I/O) to speed this up, or is CFDocument simply the "little engine that could"? We have been updating JVM heap sizes for minim and maximum and increased MaxMetaSpaceSize. At this time, there are no competing threads on this test server - just the CFDocument process. Please let us know if there are any other settings or resources&

Our customer  purchased Coldfusion from japanese Adobe agent.They installed it to AWS Tokyo region.In the near future, they are nessesary to install Coldfusion to Chinese AlibabaCloud Shanhai  resion.Is it possible to use coldfusion licence which is perchased from Japanese agent.I'm worried about export registration.If we can not do that, is it possible to purchase Coldfusion licence in China?

Hey all,I wanted to implement SSO using Coldfusion 10 for my organization. For this, we are going to use Microsoft Azure Active Directory. I wanted to use display name and employeeId coming from Azure AD for authentication purpose. For this I need to ask to setup SAML/Oauth application to another team working with us and handling Azure AD. But I am not sure to which SSO protocol coldfusion 10 supports? Can anybody help me on this?Also, what code to be written in application.cfc so that I can compare credentials entered by the user to what is coming from Azure AD? Can I use cflogin to achieve this? how can I use this? Somebody please help......

Working on a Windows server with Apache 2.4 - Installed 2018 with update 10 about three weeks ago on our test server. After working through getting all the new security to work, it has now stopped after about a week and a half running smooth. Get the 403 error.The only error I see is [Wed Sep 30 19:42:57 2020] [1568:1836] [warn] ajp_process_callback::jk_ajp_common.c (2218): (cfusion) AJP13 protocol: Reuse is set to falsein the mod_jk log. It was running without the secret in the workers.properties file (it was in server.xml while working), but I tried adding it, no difference. I added the suggested line allowedRequestAttributesPattern=".*" to server.xml, which I did not have before. No difference. If anyone has any other ideas, I would welcome them. I am no sys admin 🙂 

Registering a new REST Service Mapping in my shared Hosting account, I've found a conflict to an existing Mapping in another account (website). This conflict was declared by an error: "access denied ('java.io.FilePermission' 'D:\[website_root]\SubDomains\[api_subDomain_folder]\[REST_service_mapping_folder]' 'read')". My suggestion is making the ColdFusion Admin's REST Service Mapping Registration by application scope, similar as ColdFusion Schedule. As know, You can implement a general schedule or by application scope. So, do you agree to my suggestion?

I keep seeing this error in the "security.log":"An error occurred while fetching element from authcache." There is no other info to go along with it. Im also getting other strange expetions and erros showing up in other logs, but can't tell yet if they are correlated at all.  I really need help figuring this out.
