ColdFusion

I am having all kinds of issues after CF 2018 update 8. At the moment I am dealing with port conflicts after having to recreate several instances. The server.xml file sets ports in the following: <Server port="8031" shutdown="SHUTDOWN"><Connector port="8503" protocol="HTTP/1.1" redirectPort="8447"....../><Connector port="8030" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8447" ..... />workers.properties file port: 8030 When I start CF, I can see via netstat that all of these ports get used, but there is also one more port that appears to be started as well, 8579, judging by the netstat before and after starting CF. I can't find where this port is coming from. I am unable to start all of my instances and I think it is this mystery port that is causeing the conflict. Any ideas what that is and where I can set it? 

I have developed and built my environment in coldFusion developer.  I purchased a stndard license and when I try to enter my license for standard edition i get the following.  Can this be done?  

I am using cflayout extensively in an app. But I find the debugging useless.  So I must be doing something wrong. It loads and I get error ... "Error retreiving markup for element cf_layoutareamanage: OK[Enable debugging by adding 'cfdebug' ...Adding that provides me with an AJAX window with error: error:http: Error retrieving markup for element cf_layoutareamanage : OKMore helpful?  I think not. What does one do to see the error?

Hi Team, Fim feed job runs on Coldusion server2016. TheJob is failing from past few months with the error " 500 internal server error ". We have received a confirmation from the team who monitors the Job, that things are fine from their end. I just installed Coldfusion 11 on a new Windows 7 build. Additionally installed the latest version of WAMP (to develop my databases).I created a datasource, and used MySQL5 for my driver.  When i try to connect my database (created in WAMP) i get the following error: Connection verification failed for data source: myTestdb java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver available for myTestdb, please check the driver setting in resources file, error: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver available for myTestdb, please check the driver setting in resources file, error: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver.  Any suggestions?I searched the web, and all the solutions are extremely confusing.  Does anyone have a straight forward solution?

I had a problem when I view a graph, for example <cfchartdata item="#Depart_Name#" value="#Salary#">. if depart_name to long the name did not be display. how can i DISPLAY Depart_Name in vertical?anyone?

I am trying to get data from a coldfusion api but on hitting the api I get this error message:"Message": "Datasource '' could not be found." I have subscribed to the api and have a default application setup which can produce application/json response. The authentication used is apikey which i am using for the app that I have subscribed to and everything seems to be setup fine. Below are details for the request when i try out the api. Hola!I hope all is well. I'm running into an issue in a ColdFusion (CF) app and I was hoping someone could help. I took over an app that someone else wrote that's running ColdFusion v11,0,19,314546; IIS v10.0.14393.0; Windows 2016 Server. I know, I know. A little old school. But that's what I gotta work with. The CF app works. It has been in Production for years. Decades, actually! So I know the code works. I'm in the process of moving the app from Apache Tomcat to IIS. And that's where I'm running into problems. I'm new to ColdFusion so please excuse my description, but this CF app is made up of ColdFusion scripts that are "hosted" in SharePoint Online (SPO) pages. In other words, the app consists of a number of SharePoint Onlne webpages.  Each SPO webpage is made up of webparts. I installed CF2016U14, then updated the connector, then verified server.xml and workers.properites had the shared secret, then verified the updates was installed in CF Administrator, and finally verified the sites were up and running. A few minutes later, some of the sites went down.  Looking on the server, the CF 2016 service just stops running.  Accessing the site gives: The service is unavailable.Service Temporarily Unavailable!The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.Tomcat/ISAPI/isapi_redirector/1.2.46 This is happening on severla of our 5 servers (at least 3 so far). Has anyone encountered this?

As the titles states, when I attempt to run the migration wizard, it fails to migrate the runtime portion of CF 11.  I'm following the CF 2018 Migration .pdf provided by Adobe and have performed the pre-install step of shutting down the CF 11 Application server process before installing. I want to note that there are also several other services related to CF11 that I also shut down. (.NET, Add-on, ODBC agent and ODBC server) Should these stay running to assist with the migration? The guide was vague. I am running a self-contained server installation, production profile. Hi there,I have a table with a field name called currency.  Currency is a keyword and normally I have to delimit the field name in a query, eg update table set [currency] = 'USD' When I use cfinsert with the currency field, I get query syntax error.  I wonder if I there is a way I can tell cfinsert to delimit the field? Right now, I just left the currecy field out of cfinsert and run another update afterwards. I am using CF18 Thanks

As a user of my web site drives around, her latitude/longitude changes. I would like for her to be able to click a button and have her current coordinates (which are captured through JS in a geoLocation script) passed to the query below through a form as #userLat# and #userLon#. The resultset would be displayed in a new cfml template. If I have to use the JS variables within one of the JS scopes, can I create the form using javascript and pass the variables to the query that way? Perhaps the question is as simple as, can a javascript variable be made available for use in a cfml template? And, if so, how? Sounds simple to some, I'm sure, but I've had only cursory dealings with javascript and none with Ajax. I'm hoping for a conceptual overview that can lead me to focused self-education. I've recently inherited a Coldfusion 2018 instance. I was provided a clone of the production server which I have running as a VM on an external drive. It's also up on AWS so that others on my team can access it remotely. I can access the CF adminitrator app just fine from the local VM at the typical address (http://localhost:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm). However, on the AWS VM (which is theoretically identical), I get the default CF 500 error screen at that same address. Not seeing any errors logged, so I'm not sure what is causing it. Has anyone else run into a similar issue? I'm at a loss for how to troubleshoot without any detailed errors.

Ok, I am trying to make a PDF file ... At the end of a <cfsavecontent> within a function within a ajax .cfc template ... I added <cffileaction = "write"file = "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\webstuff\coldfusion\images\pdffile.html"output = "#invoice#">That worked fine. Then I added ... <cfhtmltopdf>source = "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\webstuff\coldfusion\images\pdffile.html"destination = "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\webstuff\coldfusion\images\pdffile.pdf"</cfhtmltopdf>The moment I run it I get a parse JSON error.  It's hosing on the cfhtmltopdf tag. I know I do not yet have a other parameters ... but what am I doing wrong to cause the JSON error? 

Recently, I have become aware of Ghostcat as a vulnerability in the Tomcat AJP protocol can be exploited to read file contents and access source code and configuration files. If the servers allow file uploads, the flaw can also be exploited to remotely execute code. Dubbed GhostCat because is has existed in Tomcat for more than a decade, the vulnerability affects Tomcat versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x, and 9.x. Apache Tomcat has released versions 9.0.31, 8.5.51, and 7.0.100 to address the issue. Since Tomcat is embedded in ColdFusion Server, is there a plan for patching ColdFusion to account for this issue?  Is there a way to mitigate the problem until such a patch is implemented?  Is there a way to patch the Tomcat on the Server without a ColdFusion patch?   My company is currently running ColdFusion 2016.   Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

Hi,We are currently migrating an old CF10 server to CF2018; theres been very few problems.  A lot of the pages have the ability to export their views to xls.  When the system gets to the SpreadSheetWrite() call, a java runtime reflection exception is thrown:java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException It seems like java is throwing the error in such a way that CF isnt able to resume so my catch never gets triggered, so I cant get any additional information.  Haven't been able to figure out a way to catch and unwind the java error and the CF logs don't seem to have anything in them.I've tried the traditional CF catch "any" and I've tried catching "java.lang.Exception", but processing seems to end the moment SpreadSheetWrite() is called. I've also dumped the spreadsheet object prior to the write call, it appears to be properly formed in memory. I tried the same function on multiple sites within the server, they are all exhibiting the same behavior. Does anyon
