Digital Editions

I recently received a Pocketbook E-reader, which I tried to load borrowed books from my library onto. After realizing I needed to authorize my E-reader through Digital Editions to read the books (since they are ACSM files), I tried plugging the E-reader into my computer, where it was supposed to pop up in the left side of the ADE app. It didn't, and now I can't download any DRM-protected books. Can anyone help me with why it isn't showing?

I am trying to find a Windows 10 compatible app that will view interactive EPUB3 files with full functionality, such as the page turning, embedded videos, and question response. I have come up dry so far. I have tried Digital Editions, but the interactivity and MM aspects are muted/unformated. Is there something I am missing? Is this a setting issue? Thank you. 

I am trying to retrieve my Digital editions, which I bought from, Takealot, they are there on Takealot to Download but I just cant get them back into Digital Library on PC. I lost all that was on my PC some years back when my PC crashed.  I had to buy a new PC, so I don't have an Adobe ID for digital editions anymore.  I paid for these books at Takealot , a South African online shop.  They show there in my library, but can't get them downloaded onto Digital Editions Library.   [Moving from generic Start/Help forum to the specific Program forum... I have a free download Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.10. The highlight text feature is grayed out. Do I need a different version to activate this feature?

Hi together,  have some problem to download my content in Digital Editions on my new Laptop. Always get the following error code:  "Fehler beim Abrufen der Lizenz. Lizenzserver-Kommunikationsfehler: E_Stream_ERROR:" Can anybody help? Thanks for your support. 

Hi all - Downloaded a book to my Digital Editions Windows app. The book will not show up in my iPad Digital Editions application. Both the Windows & iPad apps are authorized under the same account & both have the settings for "auto-dowload new files" enabled. Any suggestions?

Sometimes when reading the text slide bar comes up on upper center part of the pahe and I can't get it to go away. Anyone know how to make it go away? I chose ACSM files as topic because a topic is required. Do not really now what this issue comes under. No category for USE OF ADE,

I have previously been able to download ebooks to my ereader (Kobo) using my public library Overdrive site and Adobe Digital Editions.  Lately, I cannot download the books into Digital Editions.  I get no error message - just nothing happens after I get the dialogue box saying "fulfilling content".  It appears to be an issue with digital editions, not my library site.  I have tried multiple books, I have uninstalled and reinstalled ADE several times and nothing seems to be working.  It is very frustrating, as well, that there doesn't seem to be a way to contact a person at Adobe and directly communicate with them to solve this issue!  Please help!

i am able to authorize my adobe digital editions on my phone and not my computer.  So I cannot download my textbook.  Could I please get some help:)

I downloaded ADE three days ago on three devices: my MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone. Since then, I've been receiving the error listed in this thread on all three whenever I try to activate the app or load any books into it. That thread suggests updating to version 4.5.11, but the most recent version I've been able to find, which I'm running on my MacBook Pro, is 4.5.10. Meanwhile, the two iOS devices are running the most recent updates and still getting the error. How do I get this app to work?

I changed the hard drive in the computer. From then on I can't authorize my PC. I have changed the password. I have verified my ID. None of this works.

Dear all,I using an Imac. Installed years ago adobe digital edition. Now I want to download some books to Kobo ereader.  But the Imac does not authorizes Kobo because no matching mail-Adobe ID.I tried to delete ADe on my computer but reinstalling brings the same problem. Anyone a solution?

I have one email connected with adobe account and a second email that is connected with the university (so i could download my textbook purchace. However I  need to deauthorize my university email but I can't remember which password was used, I've tried all possabilities and because it isnt the mail email I cant reset it. Is there a way to comepletely get rid of the entire account and start from square one. 

I have just bought a new PC and installed Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.1773. Subsequently I downloaded ADE Version 4.5.10. When I opened ADE every book I have ever downloaded (despite having deleted read books from ADE previously) appeared in the library! Furthermore, if I click on say 'File' or 'Library' or a book icon the programme says 'not responding.' ADE also freezes and to exit the programme I have to do so via my Task Manager.Any helpful advice would be gratefully received.

Our public library has recently moved to rbdigital for its ebook supplier. I have been unable to download books since. I have updated ADE to the latest edition. The download starts but then just hangs. I saw a similar problem in 2016. Does this require the same solution i.e. a complete uninstall and removal of borrowed books and reinstallation/authorisation of ADE? I recently got a Nook Glowlight 3, so I started using ADE to transfer books borrowed from OverDrive. However, within the last week or so, ADE began acting up. At first, when I would open it, none of my files would show up. I did some research, both in Adobe forums and elsewhere, and did the “restore.old” renaming. That was a temporary fix. Then, it happened again...I uninstalled and reinstalled. It fixed again temporarily. When it kept happening, I uninstalled and reinstalled again, but this time it didn’t work. Finally, after leaving it alone a couple days, I opened it up again as I had new files and wanted to see if something had happened. Now, files displayed, but I got an error message that the files couldn’t be transferred. I saw a fix for that (deauthorizing and reauthorizing the device), so I tried to start the process. However, sometimes the program would freeze, leading to the need to force close through task manager, or just force close automatically upon trying to initiate t

 HiWhenever I download a book from the library on my Mac, the program hangs. I have to quit immediately, but the book is still not downloaded correctly. Please help, I would like to have new books on my ebook.Thanks!

Already downloaded v 4.5 but my ereader won't work with that so I have to go back to 3.0.Do I have to uninstall 4.5 in order to download 3.0? Thank you

I have been unable to open up an e-book after downloading and installing the Adobe Digital edition required. Instructions were followed including authorizing my computer but it always states: unable to download, already fulfilled by another user..  do i need a different program to open an e-book>

I got a new Samsung S6 tablet and transfered all my settings and apps via the Samsung Smart Switch app, all went well with the exeption of my Ebooks so I transfered them from my computer to the tablet as I had done on my old Samsung, the app I use to view my ACSM files is Aldiko or Digital Editions (which I authorized) when I try to read my book through Aldiko it says "Error could not load file" when I try to read them trough Digital Editions it says "Unable to download Error getting lisence server communication problem:E_LIC_ALREADY_FULLFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER"I ended up downloading another app called PocketBook and it says"This book has been downloaded by another account and is not authorized for your account"I am pulling my hair out trying to resolve this problem, I even deauthorized Adobe, can anyone help!!!!! 

This morning I created an account with Adobe so that I could transfer a book which I borrowed through Overdrive to my Kindle Reader (I have a desktop computer and do not want to be stuck reading the book on the desktop). Two problems emerged.  Each time I tried to input the e-mail address/password into the Authorization page it kept telling me, "Activation Server error.  Digital Editions encountered an error on the activation server."  In an effort to resolve the problem I reset my password.  Still the same error message.  The second problem is that while I am signed in, everything is copacetic.  I can access my profile page, etc.  The minute I sign out and attempt to sign in again, it tells me my password is incorrect.  It did this BEFORE I reset my password. Note:  Years ago I signed up with Adobe to post in the Flash forum.  Since I no longer use that e-mail address I created the current account from scratch.  But I do
