Digital Editions

I need your help, I have installed the software Adobe Digital Editions in my Hp laptop with Windows 10 in order to be able to open an ebook in a file format .ACSM. I didn´t have any issue with the installation but when I tried to started the software it only shows a window empty, could you please help me

I recently tried to download an e-arc from First to Read's link yesterday. I've gotten this error message:  Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12I've tried it on Firefox Quantum and Safari and got the same message for Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 on my MacBook Air with High Sierra OS. I had the same issue a year ago and now it's back.  I had no issues with it this summer, when I downloaded two links from First to Read.  I also updated Adobe and got the same message too. Any ideas on how to fix it or why I'm getting it.

I have a problem when I open my digital books in the App on Windows Laptop.I enter my Adobe ID and Password then Click Authorize. However, I always get this Error message'Activation Server Error''Digital Editions encountered an error on the activation server'.What can I do please?

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit den Digital Editions auch ohne Adminrechte zu installieren? Ich habe nur einen PC von der Arbeit den ich auch zuhause privat nutzen kann aber keine Programme installieren darf. Ich würde deshalb gerne den Digital Editions auf meinen Stick installieren und von dort aus nutzen um auch mal aus der Onleihe ein Buch runterzuladen.

I previously purchased several eBooks that were downloaded to my Adobe account...and accessible thru my authorized computer.  I recently changed computers and authorized this computer but the purchased content is not downloading automatically and available. Additionally, the content has never downloaded to my cell phone app...which is also an authorized device associated with my adobe account.I asked about my cell phone problem months ago and never got a response here...Now I have the problem with my main computer...so need the content associated with my Adobe account...which costs several hundred dollars but can't access it and the support experience is absolutely miserable....but won't go thru all that drama.I feel like Adobe is sitting on my purchased content and not supporting its applications...Any help here? All the obvious stuff has been done (i.e. checked the box to automatically download content, authorized device, etc, etc...) not that much to it...it just isn't working.

Here is the problem:- I bought an acsm format book and can't add it to the library.My error code is "Unable to download. Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12"- I thought ok, maybe by ADE version is too old, or having recently had to re-install all my Mac from a back-up, maybe something to do with it. - so I downloaded and installed the latest version 4.5.9, but same exact problem.- so I thought maybe I should de-authorize and re-autorize the computer. But the de-authorization does not work !!The error message goes: "Unable to erase authorisation. Please try after some time." !! Seriously ?What can I do to save my problem ? Main one being to add new books to the library but which could have something to do with my de-authorization issue.Thanks in advance

I have an old Mac that is now out of life and recently switched the OS to Ubuntu Mate.From a lot of Google search as well as forum search here, it appears that ADE is not available for Linux.  I understand the business case for this however present information available to all suggests that world wide Linux has a greater share than Mac.  If there isn't going to be a Linux ADE, is there a method to do the same online?As per many posts, downloading a library book (where I paid a fee to join and assume many others do as well) I want to read on my ebook should not be held up by the commitment to Adobe Digital Editions.  My opinion only.If you were to create an online version of this (and if you do, I certainly could not find it), I for one would pay a small fee to purchase the service.I look forward to the reply and the input from the community.Thank you.PS.  I understand about Wine...it is not my preference to use that as a non techie.

Hi;My computer is authorized by ADE, but I had to switch Kobo ereaders and I can't get the new Kobo authorized by ADE.So, I can put ebooks in my library but cannot transfer them to my Kobo ereader, what do I have to do.

I am now using windows 10 - prior to this windows 8 and no problem.  I am unable to transfer library books to my nook. Both my nook and cmputer are registered.   I switched to adobe 3.0 and stillno luck.  I have installed and uninstalled the program and still can't transfer.  Called Barnes and Noble and they were no hlep  Can anyone assist me.  I have been trying to do this for the last 4 hours.  Thanks.

I read that I can deauthorize my computer and reauthorize it again to clear this issue.Somehow, under the help button, there is no erase authorization. What can I do to deauthorize my computer?

Hello, Suddenly I am not able to use Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 on my Macbook Air. There is an error, that says: E_AUTH_NOT_READY I have been looking for solutions, and as far as I understand, I have to erase authorization. But I can't.... It keeps saying Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try after some time. I have been told, that I have to do this: Go to folder. Go to folder dialog will appear. Type ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions. Drag the activation.dat file to the trash. BUT I don't get it. I am danish .. Can somebody PLEASE send me pictures of the proces? All of my law studybooks are ind that program .. It has to work Marie.

I've downloaded ADE 4.5 on to my computer (Windows) and followed the instructions at: (https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/transfer-ebook-ereader-digital-editions.html) but ADE does not recognize my ereader (Sony PRS-T1). How do I get the ADE program to recognize my device?

In my ADE 4.5.8 library, I would simply like to change the file names that have been automatically assigned (e.g., 31129.indb) to something meaningful of my own choice (e.g., Author_Title). The Help function is silent, Adobe carefully wards off any personal contact, so who can help?

I've been using Kobo for years now and every single time there is an update by Adobe I waste a hell of a lot time trying to make Digital Editions work again.This time around - I download the ebook and instead of going to Digital Editions , Acrobat Reader DC opens and I get the following messageOf course it won't open - damn it!!!   I can't see how I can get it to open and load into Digital Editions.Any ideas - anyone?! I thinking very bad thoughts about Adobe right now!

Suddenly I could not download books. I got the above code. I tried to follow the advice to take away the authorization but I cannot. I have taken away the program/app and downloaded it again.  I think the problem is that my default account is connected to an emailadress that was taken away permanently about one week ago. In my account on the Adobe homesite I have changed my email to the new one but it doesn´t help. My husband had about the same problem with his Eurosport subscription and he had to get help because of a moment 22 situation.

I downloaded an e-book that I need to view as a PDF. I found the PDF files of the book in the "my digital editions" folder in my documents but when I try to open them I get an error message saying "There was an error opening this document. The security plug-in required by this command is unavailable". I have already authorized my digital editions program with my adobe ID. Any help would be great.Thanks.

Hello, I am new to Adobe Digital Edition, I got in touch with it while purchasing a pdf book. I am myself a book author. Until now I did not used Amazon to sell my books because they impose another formatting that destroys the lay-out and image formatting of my e-books.Does Adobe Digital Edition can be used to sell books online in my own website and in third-party online libraries or even in e-Bay and the like? Will it fully and perfectly protect against unauthorized copies of my e-books? Please, could you point me to online information on the first steps to publish using ADE.Your advice is welcome.RgsEM

Hi, I was using ADE with my kobo e-reader quite happily but decided I wanted to sync books onto my mobile phone. After many attempts found out I couldn't do it anyway (I read library books and you can only have them on one device). But now I'm not given the option to do anything with the device authorization on my kobo - it's all greyed out. So now I can't re-authorize it. I think ADE "thinks" I have authorized too many devices.but I haven't - only my computer. Any way round this please?
