Digital Editions

I just installed ADE and tried to open a book. ADE gave me the option of authorizing the computer. The book is from OverDrive via the local library.  I selected Overdrive from the drop down menu, entered my login information & ADE was unable to  authorize.I double checked to make sure it was correct by logging directly to OverDrive & it worked fine. I tried to go back & try again, but "Authorize Computer" is greyed out...

Is there any possible way for Adobe to make the Adobe Digital Editions product even close to as functional as the Calibre ebook reader on PC? This user interface is garbage, the lack of scrolling is horrible, the side to side page turns suck, even as a kindle competitor I've found that most ebooks on this platform lack polish. What is going on here? Am I the only person that sees these issues?

I keep getting this error when I try to download a book to Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Hi!   I am using a Mac. I get this same error.  HOWEVER, your directions DO NOT work.  When I go to "Erase Authorization" I get this message: "Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try after some time."I have tried several things: completely uninstalled Digital Editions and then Re-installed. Shut down computer. These steps are not working. How can I erase authorization if it wont let me?Thanks!

ADE won't let me copy books on to my Kobo. I am getting this message: E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS. Customer care tells me I still have activations in my account. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

When I try to download an e-book onto my lap top, I get an error message "cannot connect to fullfilment center. Please check to make sure connected to the internet." Connection to the internet is not the problem. I tried to uninstall and re-install Adobe Digitals - from my lirary websites - several times without any luck. Any suggestions?

I downloaded several years ago various ebooks that I purchased, and have been able to access them. One day I started getting the following error message "Activation server error" (code: E_ACT_NOT_READY). I have no idea what this means. I have activated everything several years, and have been able to read everything until now. Any ideas?

Why is "Authorize Computer" not clickable?  I have new ebooks (epub format) and I can't read them.  Apparently my copy of Digital Editions was originally authorized under another email account.  I suppose I need to link accounts.  How can I do that without deleting my current installation?  If I do that then I probably lose access to my existing library, right?   Also, while I have downloaded by ebooks to my computer, I want to be able to read them on my tablet.  Do I have to go through this whole ordeal again for that device?

I've got ADE 4.5.4 installed on Windows 10, but I consistantly get an error message indicating that the ADE 4.0.3 installer needs administrative access whenever I try to add a book to my library.  I've been ignoring the message (for a long time!) but I'd really like to eliminate whatever is triggering it!

I have no issue downloading ebooks from other sources into ADE, however when I download acsm's for books from Google Play, either for pdf or ebook, I receive this error. I also have no firewall and have updated ade and restarted.

Hi ADE is crashing constantly on my iPad mini when trying to connect to my Adobe id. Furthermore, on other readers I get "problem with your adobe id or connection". Both connection and id are ok. Any help please? Installed and uninstalled everything, nothing happens. Other iPad, everything works. Support told me it is not a number of activations issue, some are still available. What should I do?

Hi, my Os il windows10.I've installed and used the app few times, but lately when I try to open it, it doesn't work (it does not run at all, nothing happen or appear on the desktop). I've already tried to uninstall and reinstall it but the situation is still the same. May you help with this? Thanks

I used ADE for many years on my PC without problem. Yesterday I have to format the HHD and reinstall Win 10. I reinstalled the last version of ADE but I can't authorise it on my PC. My Adobe ID is good since I can log on my account at Adobe web site.When I click on Autorise I receive that message     Error at activation server, code E_adept_request_expired....Can you help my pls ?

I have a Nook HD+ and created a number of scrapbooks that i would like view on my PC.  I download Adobe Digital Editons to the PC with no problem.  ADE will open a scrapbook file from the PC or the Nook, however, it bring in only one page.What is the process to be able to view all the page via ADE? The file extension is .ugc

Recently, I have not been able to activate my library eBooks through ADE 4.5, despite having no problems in the past. I will download the file from OverDrive, try to open it via ADE and the download dialog box's progress bar fills up and then perpetually stays filled, with the Cancel button greyed out. The only way to exit it to shut it down manually. Upon reopening ADE, the book appears but with a "loan" tag, not the the usual "borrowed" tag. When I click on it, the program crashes. I have tried re-authorizing, but that has not worked. Thank you for your help!

I purchased several ebooks on my computer....I authorized my phone/app with my Adobe acct used on computer with Digital Editions App.I expected my purchased content to download to my phone in Digital Ed's app, but it none of the ebooks have downloaded.

Downloaded and installed ADE. Purchased 2x ebooks which I am unable to read due to this error. I have deleted the "adept" folder in regedit, uninstalled the product, etc. All to no avail. I think this is ridiculous. Surely there must be a solution???Reply from the ebook supplier:The below error indicates that you are using the incorrect credentials when authorising. In this instance, we would suggest authorizing with any other Adobe ID that you may have created around the time of initial download. Please note, if this error persists, it means that when you initially downloaded your eBooks the first time, your PC was not authorised with an Adobe ID. The consequence of this is that you are prevented you from opening the eBook on any other devices other than the one it was originally downloaded to, and the below error will occur. My current profile does not have admin access.  I installed Adobe Digital Editions using my profile and with an admin. account.  Now each time it asks me for the admin. password.  Is there a way to get around this?  Should I install the software with a logged in administrator account instead of a regular user profile?Thanks in advance.

I get the following error message when I download my e-book from Kobo to my ADE. "Error getting Licence communication problem E_IO_CANNOT_OPEN". I am on Windows 7 and haven't had any trouble in the past. I have had Kobo delete and re-add the book and reset my Kobo license. I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest edition of ADE, and de-authorised and re-authorised my computer on ADE. None have helped.

Hi !i've done an ePub3 file wich has some spans with small-caps,and it works fine on ADE 4.5But when transformed to ePub2 (some resellers won't accept ePub3 yet), the small caps are lost on ADE, while it still works fine on other readers.Any ideas?Thank you!Pablo

I am trying to authorize my new adobe reader and computer, but I get a message saying that I can't (too many authorizations).  I only have one ebook reader and one computer at any given time, not sure how I would have exceeded the authorization limit.  Is there any way to reset my limit to I can download my ebooks and library books again?

I used to have no issues borrowing books from elibrairies Manitoba but since this past winter (maybe longer) I keep getting this error every time I try to put the book I borrowed onto my Kobo Glo device. Anyone else having this issue and know what to do about this? Thanks!

When I try to authorize my computer I get a popup: "Connection Error.  Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server.  Please make sure you are connected to the internet."I have a working internet connection.I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing with my firewall off, checked that my computer wasn't authorized previously (it wasn't), and tried using an older version (1.72, same error).  I also tried authorizing with and without an ID, and both returned the same message.The file I'm trying to open is .acsm.  Please help!  I'll have to spend hundreds of dollars on textbooks if I can't get them from my school's online library.
