Digital Editions

Does anyone know how i can take my books that are downloaded in the digital library and import them into my laptop hard drive as PDF's ? Thanks

I tried opening a library book on my Nook Paperwhite, but I can't and get a "user not authrized" error. I'm using Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.2, and I can open the book with it and transfer it to my Nook. What can I do to fix this?

I deleted the old registry system in order to reauthorize the computer and it will not recognize my adobe ID or Password.  Can anyone help me?

The NY public library has recently upgraded the e-book borrowing system and I can no longer get a book to transfer over from ADE to my Nook Simple touch glow light.It will only transfer just the cover of the book and that is not the orginal cover but just a white page with the title and it says page 1-1.     They gave me instructions to delete all the files from my nook library on my computer ect. and to start over , but nothing has worked.   I have been transferring books from the library for yearswith basically no issues till now.Also even when I delete all my borrowed books from ADE on my computer ,  they are still showing up on my nook under my files and I have checked, double/triplechecked that they are not on my computer , so how do I get them off my Nook now that they are returned.I love reading on my Nook and am so frusterated right now.       Can you recommend and e-reader that works well with ADE ,  if my N

When I tried to download a book to adobe digital edition it says the internet is not connected when in fact it is.  We had the Geek Squad to try to fix on my computer but it is not my computer.  They said it has to do with adobe.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

So I'm trying to download library books onto Digital editions on my iphone and it returns the error Digital editions could not connect to the fulfillment server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet. I've tried everything suggested in the forums by deauthorizing and reauthorizing, deauthorizing and deleting the app on my iphone before redownloading and reauthorizing. Nothing seems to be working.

Hello,I've tried downloading and installing different versions of adobe digital editions (namely 2, 3 and 4). None are recognized in win 7 pro. If I attempt to point to it for my acsm files in default programs, it is not visible. Even if I browse to the .exe file and select it, there is no way to make it adopt this program as the default. Upon downloading from the local library in toronto, the book doesn't have the option to select Adobe digital editions to open it. Yes, I have tried to unauthorize/reauthorize the pc. To no avail. This program is not recognized whether installed in programs files or program files (86) or in a separate folder in either mentioned locations.I also tried to download the different versions from different browsers including chrome, IE, firefox. No difference. This program is INVISIBLE.There is something very unusual about this program that keeps it hidden and unaccessible as a default program for my downloaded acsm. Old version kept giving me errors when I was trying to download tonight.  I did the logical thing and downloaded the newest version for digital editions but it won't work either.  The books keep trying to download to adobe reader.  I have tried to erase the authorization, but it will not let me.  I have talked with someone at tech support and they just brushed me off.  I am getting really frustrated with this stupid thing

Using Macbook Pro- 10.11.6; ADE v 4.5.2.  Have downloaded 2 books from local library including ACSM files.Used ADE to transfer to new Kobo Aura. Their icons appear on Kobo marked "finished" though loan has not yet expired. Any attempt to open displays only the cover page. . A page turn returns to home screen. Not even sure if volumes are actually on the Kobo.  Any ideas? jackm58852

I use my nook for reading public library books.  The last two weeks problem arose:  i cannot open the library books in my files in the nook; I get an error message that the book cannot be opened.  Tried everything including returning the nook I had and replacing it with a new one today.  In file manager I can see nook and open my files and side load the library books in the file manager from documents/digital editions to nook. However when I try to open the book in nook, I get an error message.  A few times when I downloaded a book from the library the window that shows adobe digital editions as th default program did not even show up.  Tried everything:  authorized and de-authorized the computer. the device (nook), deleted all library books, reinstalled latest versions of adobe digital editions and overdrive media nothing worked.  Won't I be able to use the nook to check out library books any longer?

Downloaded book from local library, (they confirmed I did it correctly).  Transferred to Nook, but won't open - get this error message: this book is not activated for current ade users.  ADE is activated on my computer. Barnes and Noble say it is an ADE problem.  Saw several places that said to delete ADE from Nook, but am unable to find it, there are no hidden files.  Have already uninstalled ADE and reinstalled.  Have pretty much given up, wish I had bought another ereader (bought this for my husband, who does not know computers, he can't understand why I can't fix this! 

I have not been able to download library books to Adobe Digital Editions Version 2.  I keep getting an error message "Unable to download.Error getting license. License Server Communication Problem. Have just started using a new computer and, having re established my Adobe account details on the new computer I tried to return a library book from my Kobo ereader. But I got this message - "E_BAD_LOAN_VD" I can probably return the book through my old computer, but hope that I'll be able to download and return books using the new computer in the future. Does anyone know what, if anything, I've done wrong?

updated ADE to 4.5.2 from 4.5. Now receive error message when trying to download library book from Overdrive. Saw previous answer to Export Reistry file HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept but do not have that file. using Windows 7.

Hi,My computer (PC) has been authorized for my ID for years and has worked just fine. I had ADE 4.5 but then had to download 3.0 and uninstall 4.5 as my Kobo device would not allow me to open any books even though it has been successfully authorized with the same Adobe ID. Well, now the situation is that Kobo still does not work, same error message keeps popping up ("Oops" this document couldn't be opened. This document is protected by Adobe DRM and is not currently authorized with your Adobe ID"), but in addition to that my PC cannot open the books anymore either. An error message says "Activation Server Error, code: E_ADEPT_INTERNAL". When I tried to return the book to the library I borrowed it from, there is another error message saying that I first need to authorize my computer before I can return the item. What can I do? Seems like everything's getting from bad to worse, when I try to fix one problem, a new one appears and the original problem is still unsolved as well...

I am trying to authorize my home desktop with ADE, but it says I cannot use an Adobe ID that has already been used to authorize another computer.  I have tried canceling my authorization on my workplace desktop, but it says "Unable to Cancel Authorization. Please try again after some time."

Just updated to Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 on my Windows Laptop. Had no trouble with my old 2.5. Now the book covers in my library are awful...like a fuzzy photo. I can barely tell the titles. Anyone know what's wrong?Thanks, Tamara

I can access ADE and download an eBook form the library but when I try to put the book on my NOOK it says I do not have permission to copy the ebook. What do I do now?

I have an old XP computer I use only for reading and a bit of video. I've had DE for a few years and a DE authorization account. Last night, I tried to check out books from my library's Overdrive section and I received an error telling me it couldn't reach the right server. I submitted a ticket there and they told me to try re-authorizing.When I tried to do that, the authorization said I was authorized without account and it was now demanding an account. I entered my existing account but it died. It's attached to the same email as my support account, so I tried that too. Neither worked. I tried to create a new account and the system said I couldn't create an account because the email was registered to a different computer.You are familiar with the concept of households having more than one computer, right? If not, it's real, not just a rumor.How do I get my old authorization working or create a new one, using the same account I use for all of my technical work? I really don't want to h
