Digital Editions

I have fed both ADE 3.0 and 4.5 (not installed simultaneously) two different ACSMs I downloaded from my local library. In all cases, the import dialogue window with progress bar appears, but upon it being complete, the full progress bar persists, the "cancel" butten gets deactivated, and ADE does not respond any more at all for at least a dozen minutes. (After that time, I force quit.)In version 4.5, after I force quit and restart the app, the book appears in its library, but incomplete, and upon opening it, the import dialog with progress bar appears again and everything repeats as above.I'm on OS X 10.10.5. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but can't find the folder ...user/Applications/digitaleditions1x5 I'm supposed to delete.I revoked my ADE activation just to get the usual expected error messages, which worked, and then re-activated.Any tips?Thanks in advance for any help!

My Adobe Digital Editions will not open acsm files on either my chromebook or android phone any more. I have deauthorized, uninstalled, reintalled, and reauthorized ADE multiple times without change. I have wiped and reinstalled the operating system on the Chromebook, and that had no effect. Dragging and dropping the acsm file into ADE does nothing. When I right-click and choose 'open with' ADE is not an available option, despite having set ADE to open associated file types in the settings. This problem arose within the last week or so (I noticed it on Saturday when I tried to open a new book), and I cannot find anything online that helps. I am currently on Chromebook OS version 109.0.5414.125 and ADE version 4.5.11.187425.  I have exactly the same problem on my Pixel 5a, which is running Android 13, although I have not wiped and reinstalled the OS on that device.  Any help would be appreciated. ADE on my laptop no longer opens. I downloaded ADE again but it doesn't help. what should I do now?

I have used for a long time ADE to get (protected Library ebooks) on my Kobo reader and read it. Has worked for many months and books. Now suddenly, when I do this I get an error saying , “Your e-reader has no permission to open this book”, because you deauthorized your eReader have to re-import. Although I never deauthorized, I did import again s but didnt solve the error. The reader is authorized (it says so in ADE) and also the computer and ereader have the same account authorisation. I have tried to de- authorize and reauthorize, did not work. I can read the books on the PC (Mac). I have also deleted the acitvate.dat file and reauthorized computer de ADE. Did not help. I have deleted the app and reinstalled and then it worked 1x, but second time it didnt work anymore and had same problem. Never had this problem before and I dont know what to do. Can someone please help/advice me?

I downloaded Digital Editions on my Lenovo Tablet and downloaded several ebooks for school.  I came home and installed Digital Editions on my PC, signed in and authorized the device and none of my ebooks have sync'd.  Tried doing online chat and they kept referring me here which I had not found a resolution, so I'm starting a NEW post.  Can anyone help me?

Adobe digital edtions is not letting me authroize the computer with adobe Id

I have previously used ADE and my NOOK Glowlight Plus for a few years.  Just recently, ADE will not allow me to reauthorize my NOOK.  My NOOK pops up on the ADE screen when I plug it in but then when I try to authorize it, it crashes.  I have contacted NOOK support and they say the only option is to re-authorize the device.  Does anyone have any tips for this? I am appalled by how ridiculous this has been to try and get ANY help from Adobe since I don't have a paid subscription with them.  Any help would be much appreciated!!

He cambiado de ordenador, he instanado el programa y he iniciado sesión, entonces el libro no aparecía en mi biblioteca, he vuelto a descargar el libro y al abrir el archivo .acsm, obtengo el error "E_adept_no_fulfillment_result" y no puedo acceder al libro, ni se importa a mi biblioteca. He probado a copiar el pdf del ordenador anterior al nuevo, pero tampoco me deja, obtengo el error "No se ha encontrando ningún registro de este préstamo en este equipo". ¿Qué puedo hacer? El libro es parte de un curso de experto universitario y lo necesito ya para continuar estudiando. 

How do I reset my activation count so I can use me ADE to download books to my Kobo again?  I keep getting an error message saying I've exceeded my activation count & I only have it authorized on my PC.

Hi.I recently bought a book that only came in the ACSM fromat. I had to install Digital Editions in order to be able to read the book. But the application seems to be a product developped back in the 90's where touch screens didn't exist. Navigation via the touch screen is basically not possible and also with the keyboard it is only possible to use the PgUp/PgDn buttons. Continous scrolling is impossible and also the arraw key have no functionality. I see that there have been created posts already more than six (6!!!!!) years ago pointing into the same direction. Obviously Adobe has not the intention, to release a versio of Digital Editions, which that brings improvements in the usabiliy. The product cannot be found on the products page, only in the support community, which proves, that Digital Editions is dead.Question: Is there a way, to convert a book so it can be opened with any modern application (e.g. DrawboardPDF)? J'aime surligner et écrire dans des livres numériques, mais le livre PDF que je veux acheter cette fois-ci a un verrou numérique Adobe DRM. Est-ce que je vais pouvoir écrire dedans avec mon stylet HP si je télécharge Digital Editions? Avant de l'acheter chez Renaud-Bray je veux valider que oui... sinon je vais garder mon bon vieux surligneur et crayon l'encre d'époque! 🙂 Merci !

  Bonjour, J'ai recemment changé mon adobe ID sur mon compte et depuis impossible de telecharger des ebooks sur mon adobe editions digital installé sur mon ordinateur car message suivant :"cet ordinateur beneficie deja d'une autorisation (.....) avec mon ancien adobe ID. how do you unauthorize a computer for Adobe digital editions?

We are trying to borrow books from our local library for use on our nook GlowLight.  The library EPUB eBooks will download onto our desktop computer within Adobe Digital Editions.  We then drag them to our nook, which also has an authorized adobe id.  The books appear to transfer, though the book covers only partially appear.  However, when we try to open the book on the nook, the error message 'This book is not activated for current ADE user(s)' appears.  When the nook is connected to our home computer, the books appear on the nook and can be opened on the computer.

I've inherited my mum's old computer. When I downlaoded Adobe Digital Editions for the first time today, it automatically signed me into her old account which is now inactive. I can't sign out since it's the default account, but there is no password because the account is inactive. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. I can't erase the authorisation or anything. How can I sign out of a default account that seems to no longer exist except on my computer?

Hello Adobe, I ran into an issue while trying to access my Avid eBooks. It seems Adobe Digital Editions doesn't allow me to open these .acsm files on a different adobe ID from the one I used to open them on the first time. The problem is, I deleted that adobe ID a while ago and I can no longer authorize my devices with those credentials. This solution does not work (https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/reactivate-adobe-account.html). I tried creating a new adobe ID with the same e-mail address (this one if visible) and log in with those credentials in the hope that the eBooks are somehow tied to the e-mail address of that old adobe ID instead of some unique identifier that old adobe ID had. Of course, this solution did not work either. Whenever I try to open the .acsm files from Avid, it tells me that the license for those eBooks is fulfilled by another user. Am I doomed to pay 200 dollars for these eBooks again (greedy Avid won't consider a refund or a new set of eBooks)

hi there!!I have been working on this all day..... loosing it.I want to put books on my Kobo reader. I have Epub files on my laptop. I start ADE, then I import the books. I transfer them to my ereader. I see that the files are in the ereader when I look at the Explorer. Howerver I am not able to find the book on my e-reader........I restarted my Kobo, reinstalled ADE, installed version 3.0 of ADE. Deauthorized my Adobe ID. Anybody who know what I can do else?The only strange thing is that when I want to authorize my Kobo this is not an option. The text is grey. However it does not give an error when I say I want to transport it to the e-reader.Can anybody help me?

How can I remove an epub book from the Digital Editions library on my laptop? (and make them stay removed)"Remove from Library" only removes the item from the current list until I close ADE. The books re-appear when I open ADE.I can't open the books in ADE (some type of glitch), and I can't make them go away.It makes no difference whether I have "Library Sync" option marked or not marked. I can't find another option in the ADE menu to remove them. I have not been able to find them online to try removing them from the cloud directly.I can't return them to the library outside of the ADE software, but I can't open them in ADE to return them   fyi, The time stamps on the books in ADE match the time on my laptop.Any ideas ... ?  Thank you.

It would be great if Adobe could help me with this. I can't access ANY of my books in Digital Editions after downloading the latest Apple s/w. Apple don't care & Adobe fobbed me off to the community forum. Anyone????
