Dreamweaver

I have used DW for years fairly easily. Each new version brings increased difficulty. DW 2008 was user friendly, and I miss it. I recently had to replace my 7-year-old Mac, with Catalina 10.15.1. Dreamweaver 2015 was awful on my new machine, so I "upgraded" to Dreamweaver 2020. Working in HTML is really problematic now. Was needing to delete rows in a table today - impossible. I've tried to insert hyperlinks in html - no go. This is costing my non-profit. Very frustrating. Can someone help me? 

When pressing Command - H, Dreamweaver doesn't hide however the Red/Yellow/Green buttons on the Mac turn GREY and the main interface is still available.  When we QUIT DreamWeaver and reopen it everything works fine.  Anyone else have this issue?  CC2019 is the version.

Hello,We are trying to connect Dreamweaver to our web server.It's an https// site.We can successfully connect to it using CyberDuck WebDAV(HTTPS) selection.When we try to use the same credentials in Dreamweaver we get the following error:"An HTTP WebDAV error occurred. Dreamweaver cannot get a listing for thefolder you specified. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server, andthe server is properly configured." Dreamweaver appears to only have a WebDAV(HTTP) selection and not a WebDAV(HTTPS) selection, but we are still allowed to enter in an https address, so I do not know if this is a concern. Does DW not have a WebDAV(HTTPS) option and maybe this is the problem? If so, does anyone know if this option is going to be added? We're in our 14 day trial and can't even get started. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!- JPouliot 

Hello, I have been told by Cart32 that uploading directly from Dreamweaver doesn't work for whatever reason.   Does anyone have a work around for this issue?  As I really don't want to use a 3rd party solution.     Thanks,Tom 

Hello: I have used Dreamweaver for nearly 20 years and recentely "upgraded" to vedr. 2020. Fore the past five weeks I have been attempting to get simple answers to simple problems and have spent 10+ hours on Adobe Chat and two phone calls and received consistently bad information from individuals with no working knoweldge that have only cost time and made things worse.  1) When I asked about Links, now that "Modify" has been removed from the Menu, not one person directed me to Edit/Link. When I first stumbled on this it worked great for a few hours, but now it is only gray and won't link images or text. How to fix? 2) Same problem with adding or deleting table Rows and Columns -- not a single Adobe person was able to direct me to Edit/Tables. The two Chats that took Remote control of my website both wandered around aimlessly and seemed clueless. Now all I want to do is select a single Column or group of Columns to paste Excel data, but 2020 won't let me do that. How to s

I use Dreamweaver a lot. I use it to manage a very large website, 50,000+ files. I also travel a lot. I'm constantly traveling across the country, and spend weeks or months away from home. When using sync, DW checks the filedate on the server vs local, to compare. It ends up getting/putting thousands of files that have not changed. This is the result of my Windows OS adjusting to the new timezone that I'm in, each time I travel to a new location. Refraining from changing the timezone on my Windows OS is not an option. I spend weeks, months, away from home. I need to be able to see the correct time at the bottom-right of my Windows display. I need the FTP sync to offer the option to compare files ONLY on filesize. This option should also be available when getting/putting individual files, instead of sync entire sites or folders. Every decent FTP software out there offers this. I don't understand why Adobe can't either.

I've done formmail in the past w/ Matt's scripts but know that's not a good idea now....I've done the layout in DW2020 but do not know how to make it work, the site is on a secure server....any fast response would be appreciated or a link to some helpful info....would be great.  I've searched on the web, oh they have free forms but want to charge monthly for it's service. So I guess I need a server side app?  TIA, Cyn

I just installed this last week, and it's continually causing my PC to stop responding.  I have to run Task Manager to get it to stop.  That's getting really old.  I'm on Windows 10 newest version as of 3/2/2020.  This is ludicrous for an application that costs this much to function this way.  What do I need to do to get it to work correctly?  

I am using Dreamweaver CC 2020 to make website for my small business. When I upload website to FTP host it only shows index.html. Any help?Thnaks

The media querys are not visible in CSS Designer for my custom CSS?   This has happened a few times before, but the media querys I have set up do not appear in the designer module. And when I try to add new media querys, but they do not appear either. I'm using DW 20.1 in Bootstrap. The bootstrap CSS shows up, with all its querys. ???

Hi AllI used for years the version of Dreamweaver with Server Behaviour and creation automatically of query with database (insert, cancel, edit etc) Now I want to buy the new version of Dreamweaver but I see that is not still present and the previous version is deprecated. There is no any new version of these tool/enancement?Any way to have similar functionality in dreamweaver?  or any other software that has this function? Thanks Bye

Hi all I've updated to the most recent version of Dreamweaver (20.1 15211 build) and every time I activate it (make it the active window and try to do anything) it hangs, lags, and takes a fair few seconds up to about a minute to become responsive again.  This happens every time I open it or make it the active window again.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, updating, clearing the cache (Windows 10) and nothing has worked.  The only workaround I have is to use an older version of Dreamweaver.As above, using Windows 10 Pro, 8Gb RAM, Intel Core i5 processorAny help with this is greatly appreciated

I have a problem with connecting my site to my git repository.First I created an empty git repository, then i clicked create new site.I put in the site name and selected the local folder.After entering the link to the repository and my log-in information I clocked test.This Error message appears:I am new to DreamWeaver and Git so I am not really sure what I could do.I could not find any information to any similar errors online.It is also very possible I mad some mistake with setting the site and the repository up.

I was trying to look up a code but could'nt find out how to do this if it's even possible.

If I obtain Dreamweaver, will it help me with an existing website?   My previous ancient programs (Front Page and MS Expression Web) are apparently no longer.  I used to be able to upload video directly to our website (WMV etc.) without having to use a YouTube or Vimeo URL.   Now, certain browsers do not support older, basic video forms.   I cannot find a website-content-update program that will allow me to add videos to our website in a current format like MP4.    Will Dreamweaver do this?   Or is the purpose of Dreamweaver something else entirely?

HelloI am really new to all of this and my logo and the majority of my images will not show up on my website.  On my computer and on Dreamweaver the site is fine but when I upload the site to the WebHost, the logo and images on the other pages do not appear.  I am not sure if this makes any sense as I said I am new to this.  My professor has been unable to help me and not getting any answers with Google.  Please help!!https://aferguson.000webhostapp.com/index.html Thank youAlicia

Hi there,   I am creating a website in Dreamweaver containing some javascript functions, like accordions. The content divs of these accordions are hidden by css instructions and displayed via javascript/jQuery functions.   How can user change the content in these hidden divs via the wysiwyg editor? This is a new issue that I am having after updating to DreamWeaver 20: 1. I used to be able to open a local Word-generated HTML file, select all, copy and then paste it into my DreamWeaver page and the formatting would come in with the text 2. Now, if I do this same action, the text comes in unformatted. 3. From the research I've done, it seems that I need to use the Paste Special option and choose to paste both content and formatting.  4. However, Paste Special is greyed out. It's not an option for me. Why is Paste Special greyed out?

Many years ago (after evening classes) I downloaded Dreamweaver CS 5.5 and made my one and only webite which is used for my wife's small business.I tried to open DW this morning and was met with this message which means absolutey nothing to me.Does anyone have any advice - in really clear terms - as to how I go about correcting the problem. Many thanksPaul

Hello,In the code display, there are orange / green / red margins on the left which display the deleted code in a red block with an R to restore this deleted code.Where are these functions explained?I find this very annoying because I prefer to be able to simply select lines by clicking and dragging on the line numbers.How can we deactivate this history reminder function?Thanks!

I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but today i discovered that when I open a file in DW that I have wrirtten OUTSIDE of DW, it rewrites it. It adds FOUR bootstrap lines to my <head>     <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/bootstrap/css/bootstrap.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/bootstrap/css/bootstrap-responsive.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="/ScriptLibrary/jquery-latest.pack.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/bootstrap/js/bootstrap.js"></script>       And towards the end of the file, it REMOVES a line:      <script src="/assets/jquery/jquery.min.js"></script>       I have the NEVER REWRITE CODE option checked in preferences, and all the neccessary file extensions listed.  Yet it still rewrites my code, and has been for some time, destroying my work.
