Paste Special Greyed Out

This is a new issue that I am having after updating to DreamWeaver 20: 1. I used to be able to open a local Word-generated HTML file, select all, copy and then paste it into my DreamWeaver page and the formatting would come in with the text 2. Now, if I do this same action, the text comes in unformatted. 3. From the research I've done, it seems that I need to use the Paste Special option and choose to paste both content and formatting.  4. However, Paste Special is greyed out. It's not an option for me. Why is Paste Special greyed out?

Many years ago (after evening classes) I downloaded Dreamweaver CS 5.5 and made my one and only webite which is used for my wife's small business.I tried to open DW this morning and was met with this message which means absolutey nothing to me.Does anyone have any advice - in really clear terms - as to how I go about correcting the problem. Many thanksPaul

History functionality in code too invasive

Hello,In the code display, there are orange / green / red margins on the left which display the deleted code in a red block with an R to restore this deleted code.Where are these functions explained?I find this very annoying because I prefer to be able to simply select lines by clicking and dragging on the line numbers.How can we deactivate this history reminder function?Thanks!

DW, Stop rewriting my code! pt 2 (bootstrap)

I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but today i discovered that when I open a file in DW that I have wrirtten OUTSIDE of DW, it rewrites it. It adds FOUR bootstrap lines to my <head>     <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/bootstrap/css/bootstrap.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/bootstrap/css/bootstrap-responsive.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="/ScriptLibrary/jquery-latest.pack.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/bootstrap/js/bootstrap.js"></script>       And towards the end of the file, it REMOVES a line:      <script src="/assets/jquery/jquery.min.js"></script>       I have the NEVER REWRITE CODE option checked in preferences, and all the neccessary file extensions listed.  Yet it still rewrites my code, and has been for some time, destroying my work. DW - Ftp issue? host issue?

I have an old version of DW - C5.5. Trying to update an established website today, I got a problem with the Ftp connection (can't connect to host). (I haven't posted to this site since July 19, so don't know when the problem would have first occured) My hosting provider (a local organisation, using Linux), tells me it's not the port etc, and that they haven't changed the settings.  They point out the age of my software, and also mention TSL 1.2 and DW's not working with it. Looking at previous posts on here, this might indicate problems with DW OR (just?) older versions of DW and ftp clients? I don't know enough about hosting to be sure where the problem is and thus how to rectify. Is it my version of DW?Is it DW? If I move it from the current host, keeping my current DW, that should resolve it (I uploaded last week to another site that is hosted by IONOS) (at least for now). I can't afford to upversion my DW, so would have to change the web

Code view scroll bar buttons

Am I the only one who doesn't actually have "up" and "down" buttons and the top and bottom of their scroll bar in the DW 2017 code view. I find myself using the slider and scrolling so fast I lose my code.

[Locked] Dreamweaver CS6 constantly freezing when ftp connection times-out

Hi,   I was wondering if anyone's encountered this problem - when uploading via ftp and the connection times out Dreamweaver freezes - you can't close it, it just keeps saying "connection timed out", won't stop the process and the only way to get it back to work is to force close it. Happens on a very regular basis and is quiet frustrating. I'm using Adobe CS6 on a windows 7 machine.   Any help or advice is much appreciated!

Where are Dreamweaver's Splash Screen Files located ?

Hey there, a bit of an unusual question in a forum that's usually all about bootstrap issues and Dreamweaver's CPU usage. I recently found out that it's possible to change Adobe's splash screens, and decided to make my very own based on Dimitris Yadopoulos' (artist who made the DW 2019 Splash Screen art) awesome artwork, for personal use only obviously. With some googling and searching, I was able to locate and change the ones for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere and After Effects. I haven't gone looking for Audition, Lightroom or Animate's yet as I rarely, if ever, need to use those. The black sheep so far however has been Dreamweaver. For the life of me, I cannot seem to locate what should be an otherwise straightforward .PNG file. I have gone through the Dreamweaver 2020 install folder with every possible combination of search terms I could come up with (%splash%, %2x%, %startup%, %launch%, and more), I have tried unpacking the resources of the executable file, I

Trouble configuring Git on DW CC for Mac

I'm stuck trying to configure my site using the most recent updated Dreamweaver CC to connect to my Git / Github repositories. When I click to associate a Github repository to this site check box I get the following error. Dreamweaver could not locate the Git client on your computer... I've followed the instructions Learn how to download and use Git with Dreamweaver CC.  - but no dice.Not sure what to do here. I have both the Git-2.13.1 and GitHub Desktop.Running Yosemite 10.10.5 on my Mac Pro.Thanks!Eric

Â symbol after some words

Hi all, In some of my html files, I am getting an Â symbol at the end of a few words. There does not seem to be a pattern, and I don't see anything in the code. The weirder issue is that I don't see it on my screen, but my colleague does on hers. It is never at the start of a word, only at the end. She does have a different version of Dreamweaver from me, but I've tried looking at it in multiple browsers, pasting it into other programs, and I never see the symbol. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

I cannot connect via my remote connection

I am a cc member runing Dreamweaver version 20.1 on Windows 10. I cannot connect to my remote server.In Site>Servers>My Basic setting are:Server Name: 67.20.76.89Connect using: FTPFTP Address: 67.20.76.89Username: jpalikcoPassword: (the correct password is entered)Root Directory: /home4/jpalikcoWeb URL: http://jpalik.com When running Test, the error message says: "An FTP error occurred - cannot ope server folder /home4/jpalikco/. Access denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. I can connect useing FileZilla using the same settings as above. I have spent more that two hours with my hosting provider and they have confirmed that all the settings are correct. Help. Jim

My index.html has been corupted with Chinese words when imspecting code the Chinese word is not visibile  untill I load it onto browser.  It also prevents my English content from being displayed.

View controls when working on a file in version 20.1

You guys have taken out the view control (Code, Live, Design) for a file that was just below the file name. You took it out once before but every complained and you put it back. Everyone complains because it is such a pain in the A.. to have to go up to the View menu each time. Please put and leave the view option back where it was. Thanks

Sass compilation not working. No error information. Dreamweaver CC 20.1

I am attempting to migrate a website to Dreamweaver and am having an issue getting sass compilation to work. I am using Dreamweaver CC 20.1I have enabled compilation on save in settings. I have specified the source and target directories for css preprocessors.Sass compilation works without error using sass at the command line using versions 3.5.0 and 1.26.0.Whenever I attempt to compile sass in DW I get the following error:Image is small. Text isLine: --Column: 1File: tci.scssErros/Warnings: I have tried removing code from my scss file. I have tried compiling a blank .scss file. I have tried changing the file extension to .sass. I have tried uninstalling DW and reinstalling. I have tried installing Compass support. All results in the same error as above.Any help is appreciated. **EDIT: I am using Windows 10I have also tried resetting user preferences as described here: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver.html

Can't Switch From Code View To Either Split View or Live View

I'm going through Dreamweaver CC Classroom In A Book, 2018 version.  there is a page in lesson 7 - "mygreen-styles.css" that I can't switch from code view to split or live view. I've tried this on both my desktop and also my laptop computers, and the result is the same.  I'm attaching two screen captures, perhaps they may provide some insight. Thank you!

I try to learn WordPress with "DreamWeaver CS5 with PHP" by David Powers running on Dreamweaver CS6 on Window 7.  Installed Apache24 that came with PHP7 and MySQL on the local server.  Ran into the same problem of "your php server doesn't have mysql module loaded or you cant use the mysql_(p)connect function".  Noticed in phpinfo.php there is no mysql but mysqli.  Besides re-intall an old version of the Apache with PHP5x, is there a way to fix this problem of  this problem?  Please be a little more detail than 1) Write your own mysqli functions and queries (how?)2) Buy a 3rd party extension for Dreamweaver which will replace the old Dreamweaver server behaviours (which ones?)jtkooI am a novice.

Live View is Not Showing Changes As I Make Them...

I've just started back using Dreamweaver and for some reason, my Live View is not updating as I make changes.  I have to close the page out and re-open it just to see it.  Not only that, when I am trying to move an item using margins, the items snaps back to where I originally moved it from.  I initially thought I was doing something wrong, but when I closed down the project and opened it up, my changes reflected. This is so frustrating, it has taken over an hour to do something that it would have only taken me a few minutes to do because I can't see the changes.  I am working on a Mac and I am updated to the latest OS (Cataline 10.15.3).  I also checked to make sure the DW software was updated and it is. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated!

placing animation and video in dreamweaver

Hello,I have having great difficulty. My training and earlier work in Dreamweaver was a very long time ago (before it was adobe...lol) so it makes sense. I used to be able to create a animated gif (with just layer visibility on and off) and then drag it in. I have been working with timeline in Photoshop and created a "video" but I can't place it in a Dreamweaver page. I am guessing this is an easy one but it is confounding me. I tried a png, a gif, and an mp4 I have some familiarity with a variety of adobe products if anyone has a direct approach to getting a timeline psd placed into a Dreamweaver page please share.... as useful as this was with macromedia I find it hard to believe that decades later its’ not much more convenient especially since it’s the same app family/platform…

Dreamweaver Design View not displaying

A few days ago, DW Design View was displaying a working web site for a local site I'm working on. I've managed to make some changes that prevent that from happening now. My site is also running a Coldfusion server, which was also functional and now is not. While it's not displaying in Dreamweaver, my site displays both HTML and CFML properly on localhost—a fully functional site. So, I'm guessing I have a setting or folder issue.  Any help would be appreciated. Glad to supply all the details you want. I did that earlier but didn't save my post and lost the text.  Thanks!John

Can't open Dreamweaver 2020 - error 2

Hi for some time now I can't launch Dreamweaver on my Macbook Pro.  The error message is: " The following Javascript error(s) occurred: Unable to open script file..." I've tried uninstalling all adobe products, clearing cache nothing helped. Did anyone had a similar problem and found a solution? Thanks,Kamil
