OSX 10.11.6Dreamweaver is not starting. It begins the launch and then just stops. I have uninstalled and reinstalled CS5. I have dumped preferences. I tried to download the Dreamweaver 11.0.4 update, but get a "disk damaged" error.Any suggestions? TIA!Althea

DW CS6 acting weird in code view Been using DW CS6 for years with no problem but yesterday I must have done something inadvertently or DW just got corrupted in some way. One major problem/annoyance is that if I want to anything useful I have to use design view rather than code view. For example if I want to create a hyperlink. If I highlight the text in code view at the bottom of the page in “Properties” it only shows information about the div ID, Class and CSS panel which is useless, and nothing about HTML which would allow me to make the hyperlink. But if I highlight the same text in design view then I get the normal “Properties Panel” with lots options for both html and CSS. I used to get the same panel when I clicked on the text in code view. Another example. I can only apply CSS to something from design view but not code view when I do a right click.Though I used to do every thing in design view now I only do everything in code view. But, I use a split panel because I use design v

Hi all,Just got Dreamweaver CC and I'm trying to 'Put' and 'Get' to and from my remote and it comes up with a message telling me that I have to define a testing server. Is there any way I can get around this? I have no interest in defining my testing server right now, I just want to upload a file. I feel like I was able to do it prior to today but something must have changed and now I can't work on my website.

I am stuck on two things!1. My responsive website is showing desktop on a mobile device. When I scale it down on a web browser, it responds (but the nav still doesn't work).2. Probably the wrong forum but I'm trying to get some views.If we are to use these new data binding javacript frameworks are we supposed to forget any possibilty that javascript may just be turn off. Hi!I have built some CSS code to change the positioning of page content in a fluid manner as I drag the right edge of the Live View window in or out.  However, I do not know how to access the page width indicated by the ruler above the window.  Is there an accessible variable that holds this information that I can utilize in my code?  If so, what is the syntax to use it?I have been searching for an answer but am coming up empty.  My thought was that it would be something called Viewport Width, or something like that.  Or is it just the width property of the page?  A related question is that, given that each CSS selector has properties, what is the syntax for using those properties in calculations while inside another selector?Cheers!

I'm using CC 18.2, and I've been using Dreamweaver since version 2.0 in 1998 when owned by MacroMedia, and before that used ColdFusion Studio when it was owned by Allaire, so I've been around the block a few times and have been loyal to the editor.  However, your "enhancements" are causing me to look elsewhere.  I tried using Sublime Text for a while, but it didn't do all the nifty things DW would do for me, so I went back and am still using DW.  Visual Studio was another I took a look at.  I code in ColdFusion, PHP, html, javascript, and jQuery, and have found that DW is still the best game in town to do all that.I've logged in several issues on the bug reporting site, but not one thing posted there has ever been resolved.  Does the DW team even participate there and listen to its users?One of my chief complaints is the way DW started handling tabs for multiple open documents.  I used to be able to use the CTRL-Tab keystoke to toggle between open tabs in

I haven't set up a site in Dreamweaver for a long time. A few versions have been released in the interim. I am now trying to create a new site and was surprised when I attempted to do this and Dreamweaver added everything on my drive (I was creating the site at the root level).I am afraid that if I delete the new site and try again, I will lose all my files. I looked through the forum but couldn't find anything about this.

Hello.I am new to web design and have an important question to ask.  We all know that any website is going to be seen by probably every device out there that can view a page.  As such, different screens have different parameters such as width in pixels, and width in inches.  The pixels unit seems inappropriate because a screen can be 4.5" wide or,say 20" wide but have the same ppi.  If I were to use pixels, then a screen with the same ppi but vastly different width in inches will simply be scaled down to fit the smaller screen without any importance placed on the scale of the content, especially text.  I do not want to have to get out a microscope to view the webpage on my cellphone.  So it seems that inches is best, because regardless of the ppi,  I know my content will be scaled to the physical width of the screen, not ppi, which is only a measure of how sharp my web design will appear on any particular device with a given resolution.  Obviousl

I have seen some posts about this, but am still a bit sick.I have an HTML page and put is some deliberate typos by randomly tapping keys in a place between a <p> and a </p> - so there are spelling mistakes and it should whinge.The only way to get sensible behavior is to put it in design view! If I am in Live, the menu option is grey; If I am in Code, it bounces to split and highlights nothing. If I am in the more-rendered half of the split the menu option is grey.Is this a bug? Hi,After a while working with Dreamweaver when I click on real-time preview button this happens (check the image).And the only temporary solution is to close and open Dreamweaver again.I am in Mac mid-2015. and Dreamweaver 2018.Any idea?

I have been unsuccessful in finding any guidance on this issue online so far, so my apologies if this is a stupid/beginner question but I'm hoping someone can answer.Every time I launch Dreamweaver CC 2018 (Mac OS), it mounts a Chrome installer and attempts to have me install the browser. However the browser is already installed on my machine and I've confirmed its up to date. I cannot find any options in the preferences that would explain why this is happening; is it possible to deactivate this prompt somehow? It seems to slow down the launch process and at times I am unable to "eject" the installer once it appears on my desktop.
