I think the title is quite explanatory.Sometimes, Ae does not encounter that files have changed (e.g. 3d renders).It would be nice to have a possibility to refresh all, without having to selected alle footage (deep in hierarchy).

We've all been there, done a 3d camera track and waiting for all 300 frames to analyze only to be reminded we need to precomp it because our source resolution doesn't match the comp resolution. Why can't that warning happen BEFORE we sit through all the analysis, like when the effect is initially put on the layer?   [Original Title: Don't tell me my resolution is wrong AFTER analyzing every frame of a video with 3d camera tracker]

I'm a learner, but I'm pretty sure it is not supposed to work like this. First off, I'm on Windows 11 using the most updated version of AE. To the best of my knowledge, the settings in my AE are the default, "fresh out of the oven" AE settings. The issue: I had made a simple track matte animation and was exploring with the pre-comp feature. The animation itself was a very simple move-from-position-A-to-position-B animation and there was a matte applied to it so that it would appear to scroll into a selected region. Now, I had precomposed this and selected a region of interest in the new precomp. After deciding I didn't like the region I had selected, I hit ctrl+Z. That undid the animation though, not the last action performed that was the selected region of interest. I can fiddle around with this and get back to the original state it was in, but is this how it's supposed to work? I guess I could see it, but it seems rather incovenient.

Using the MFR stuff in a different way, I would like to be able to set a comp to generate a ram preview in one comp and be able to continue working within another comp while waiting on the ram preview to finish for review.

now it says "That button can't be reassigned" for some weird reason. 

From the very beginning I thought the properties panel was pointless.One thing that would make it somewhat usefull is apart from showing ordinary transform propertiesit would also show Essential properties for a selected precomp if it has any.We can access Position Rot Scale and Opacity with key triggers, so they are never out of reach, but the Essential Properties always take a lot of clicking to reach - if we could have access to them through the properties panel it would be awesome.

Controlling the animation curve is often the difference between quality and crap. The ability to have greater control over the curve in an expression beyond linear and ease options would be fantastic.   thanks!

Would be nice to be able to use a guide layer in AE outside of the composition preview window. It would be nice to have it full scale and placed off to the left of the canvas at a 1:1 ratio to the actual asset you're working on. I'm finding when doing short form edits inside of AE, I use a guide layer to make sure my cuts are on time, but also to reference creative from a previous round of work, and being able to see my guide layer without having to shy it on/off would be super useful.

I wonder why there is no support for .Cine inside After Effects while the codec is support in Premiere. That will help with integration between software and relief from a lot of transcode. The codec is really not that heavy and just need to have RAW settings available in the Interpret Dialogue... Options button.Thanks

AE expressions currently support the following interpolation types: linear, ease, ease in and ease out.To provide better control over the easing curve, I propose implementing an additional interpolation type: Bezier. A matrix of 4 values would be used to define a cubic bezier (similar to how this is handled in CSS animation) Something like this:bezier(t, tMin, tMax, value1, value2, [0.4, 0.14, 0.3, 1]) A nice little enhancement, which would allow greater creative control over expression based animation. Thanks for your consideration.

The Camera Tracker is in dire need need of an Advanced Feature set.  Film back size with known/approximate focal length with savable presets. FOV is not enough. FOV is the result of Film Back & Focal Length, not the other way around. Supervised trackers. there needs to be a way to use motion trackers in camera tracker as supervised trackers to assist in the solving of the camera and estimate of the point trackers. this is a must have. Make masks work on the layer for the exclusion and inclusion of areas for the point trackers to track. no more of this precomping masks to ignore objects.  A solve button. let me choose when I want to solve A real lens distortion workflow. This should  be comprised of a few things: First, please go look at what Russ Anderson has done with the lens distortion workflow from Syntheyes to After Effects. Imagine being able to open everything in our layers (like path in shape layer that is hard to reach) that needs to be clicked one by one and now only need setting up a keyboard shortcut to do so. As when we select a layer and press U on the keyboard, we open only keyframed properties in that layer.

I would love to see a search and re-link function that searched all folders at tthe click of a button, just like Premiere. Is there any reason this has not been applied?

It would be helpful to be able to add a radio button behavior for checkboxes into Essential Panel Group (as we can do into scripting UI). Enable a checkbox will automatically disable the others into the group. Thanks.

I reiterate my request for a string expression control. String manipulation is an entirely separate concern than text styling. My last post got merged into "text expression control" thread.  I try to build very lightweight deliverables and I am striving to eliminate the need for say, hidden text layers. While JSON or JSX is an interesting workflow for the more development oriented people, it's not really editable by the end user. I do not necessarily utilize EGP in my work. My idea is simply an expression control like a checkbox, slider, color well etc but containing simple a text field. Certainly it's doable, I'm sure there should be a limit, what if a user 3 years from now posts an entire copy of Moby Dick into one of those... but if the cap is even something terse like 4096 characters, it would make my life easier, and there's precedent for how it should work without designing new UI.

It would be helpful to be able to add a default value and a reset button (to this default value) to properties of sliders into the Essential Panel, in the same way you define the range… thanks.

It would be fantastic, if one could set a preference for the interpretation during import. For the Fields, the pixel aspect ration and the color managment.Should not be too complicated

I'm happy to see native MP4 encoding being reintroduced to After Effects after being unceremoniously ripped out 6–7 years ago.    However, there's a lot lacking in this "first" pass.    A major need for getting a usable file straight out of After Effects is having a "Fast Start" option that places the MOOV atom in the correct place (at the front of the file) for progressive download / pseudo-streaming.    Can we please get this option added in a patch and quickly?   (We have Enterprise Support which is incredibly dismissive and told me to fill out the "wish form" which just redirects to Community…)

The new 3D Gizmo is fine, but if you want to move the Anchor point with the Pan behind tool in 3D space, or want to turn a camera around its point of interest. It's nearly impossible to do this anymore.  A checkbox beside the snapping tools or a simple shortcut to switch it off/on would help a lot! Regards,Pat

A GUI for recording common actions just like in Photoshop would be amazing!I know you can create a template project setup but what if you need multiple different project setups.You could record yourself creating and naming all the folders etc and store as an action.You can probably also do a lot with scripting or animation presets but I thin this approach would allow for more flexability and ease of use especially with users who are familiar with the photoshop functionality. Thanks

It would be a dream if the Flow-Chart would get updated to a real usable Node Editor. A guy from Hollywood Illusion.com  is working on such a project at the moment  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_uhtip_6Vg&t=30s. It would be great to bring that natively to AE.

The native Adobe Glow effect is pretty old and hasn't seen any significant updates in a long time (ever?).Although there are several 3rd party glow effects that offer a broader range of features, there's still the potantial for Adobe to update the existing effect to improve it's functionality but without going as far as a whole new plugin.Here are 4 suggested improvements that could be made to the existing effect:1) Alternative falloff types, especially inverse square and also an adjustable exponential control2)  More precise control over the threshold that allows for HDR values and perhaps a softness.  Maybe a value rather than percentage (thus not clamped to 0 -100). Working in 32bit sometimes we only want to add glow to bright areas that are already well over 1.0 but not affect the actual 0 - 1 areas of the image.3) More options for what the glow is based on, instead of just color or alpha, include individual RGB channels, lightness / luminance / saturation as in other exi

Because the info tool only works on one pixel, and the lumetri scopes don't actually give RGB values, it would be great to have a tool luke Nuke's pixel analyzer that could give the maximum, minimum, and median RGB values within a frame. (Even better: within a selection of the frame.)

I will pay someone $500 to write a faster alternative to ProEXR by fnord. This is $100 more than my last post about this. I am sick of how unbearably slow it is at reading EXR files, I would like it to be equally as fast as reading PNG or TIFF sequences. Please, someone help by updating it. Let’s make this industry standard pipeline work in After Effects.
