LR 4.1rc2 under Windows 7 x64The reverse-geocoding function of LR4 is a great feature and a potential time-saver, yet it can lead to some minor disasters.Specifically, there is currently no way to "stabilize" the location metadata that has been automatically filled by LR (displayed in gray italics). Editing any value by hand e.g. a misspelled City name, leads to all other fields (Country, State, Sublocation) being emptied - problematic when filters are effective on these fields, as the photo suddenly disappears and end up with partly missing location info.Possible remedies: when location info has been automatically filled by LR :- provide (only in such a case) a checkbox offering to "keep these values", so they can from then on be appear as 'normal' metadata, and be edited as such without some tricky behaviouror- make these auto-filled values separate from each other, allowing to edit one without discarding all the others. That would also allow the reverse-geocoding feature to work wit

Please add Ascending/ Descending Toggle to Folders/Collections in LightroomClassic I just asked adobe official tech support and they sent me here. Say you have 100 Folders or Collections, or Collections sets. You currently cannot sort the folders in the collection pannel so that folder named "100" is at the top! So you have to Scrool Down 100 Collections folders to get to the lastest few collections you were working on. I know I could rename my folders but I dont want to. The sorting available now is "sort by Kind or Name" There is no Toggle for Up and Down (Ascending / Descending) for Sort By Names. That's all I'm asking, This would be great and would help so many people that are currently renameing or scrolling a lot just to get to their preset panel or to see the latest collections they were working on. Sorting feature just like already exists within a collection for the Photos. A Toggle for top to bottom
This has been going on for long time now, haven't had time to post about it as I resent having to spend so much of my time doing so. Adobe, please make you metadate panels in Ps, Br and Lr the same. Please make them work properly and make them consistent to each other. I'm about to lose my mind bc of this. Photo 01 shows that i am unable to scroll down any further, note the scroll bars have topped out. What IS that? I can't work like this. Can't see entire fields. Photo 02 show nice big readable metadata fields in Lr, bravo. HowEVER, if you go into Lr's metadata "edit presets" you get Photo 03, completely useless metadata fields that make me want to jump off a bridge. The "Rights Usage" field only allows one to see ONE LINE at a time. Omg. I have one client who loves to pack info into these field, it used to be so easy and smooth, now its a ridiculously frustrating and amature affair. How does Adobe allow this sort of thing to happen and continue? I hold out
In Lightroom, please "remember" the currently select images in each folder as I move back and forth. This would be such a time saver!
Stable Diffusion exports PNG files with the Copy Generation data in chunks. I would like to see both Lightroom and Photoshop read, keep, and export this information. Context: I would like to make changes and add a watermark to my images.
Color range mask does not retain the same color when copied to another photo. Instead, the mask selects just a similar color. This makes the tool a bit annoying, since it always just guesses which color could be the one you need. It would be great if there would be the possibility to also choose a color, and then it saves the color for the mask, just as the luminance range mask does. When I select the skin tones for example and copy it to another image, where there is a person with another skin tone, the tool sometimes selects just a grayish green tone. For example, “adaptive mode” and “static mode”.
The only tool in iPhones built in camera roll editing software in my opinion is the brilliance slider. This is a very helpful tool, and when used with caution, can yield great results. I wonder if Adobe has ever considered adding their own version of a brilliance slider?
In Lightroom 14.4 Classic, AI-enhanced image data is now stored in a single DNG file along with the original image data. Until now, I've been archiving data to different repositories with different compression settings; one repository for the original data in lossless compression, the other for the enhanced data in lossy compression. I have now lost this option. Would it be possible to continue to allow separate storage (in order to save space)? Perhaps as a selection in the options when exporting?
Hello, I often edit batches of photos where I need to use the adjustment brush to paint over a subject’s face. It would really improve my workflow if the adjustment brush could stay open and active as I advance through images. Right now, I have to open the brush (K), paint, close it (K), move to the next image, and repeat the process. If the brush could remain open while I arrow through multiple images, it would eliminate the repetitive task of constantly opening and closing it. Thank you for considering this feature!
Hello Adobe, I've been using Photoshop since the first public release. Same is true for Lightroom. Thank you for your superb products! When clients send me their selects, sometimes the physcial filename for those images get renamed because of how they are viewing, culling and emailing the images back to me. Recently I was sent images with cryptic filenames, which takes more time out of my schedule to track down the images. In Lightroom's Slideshow, there's an option to add text overlays for each image. One of the options is to show the image filename. I'm requesting to add the same text options found in Slideshow to the Export / Watermark menu. This will allow Lightroom users to bake in the filename as superimposed text over the image — so if the physical filename is ever modified, the Lightroom user can still easily track down the original file since it's visible on the image itself.I've included a sample image of what the Slideshow Filename overlay looks like. Also,
LrC, please add a Not Sky mask in the mask options when creating a landscape mask. Yes, I could simply create a Duplicate and Reverse mask, BUT. The purpose of such a mask is to be able to edit tonality, etc., for everything not in the sky. For example, Curve, Clarity, saturation, dehaze, items you may not want to apply to a sky.
When you create a landscape mask, you are prompted to select what subtype (Sky, Vegetation, Ground, etc). If you select multiple ones, the masks are automatically named as such (Sky, Vegetation, etc). BUT when you select just one, it is not automatically named as such, and you need to manually rename it (if desired) Request that this naming occur in both situations.
LrC, request Vibrance slider be added Effects sub-panel in the Masking edit panel. Also consider moving the Saturation slider to this panel from the Color panel, so as to match the general edits (not masking) panel.
For LrC, request that the option to hold down the Alt/Option key on sliders when in a mask as to show clipping (Whires, Blacks, etc.) be added as is already in the general tone panel.
When using Topaz, I woudl like to have a box to rename the modified (by Topaz) file when it is saved back to the LRC libarry. This option is available in Topaz Photo AI app, but not in LRC. A box could be put in the Additional External Editor menu saying something like.. 'add prefix' 'add sufix' etc. This feature would enable fast searches for all Topaz modified files.
Hi, Don't you find horrible to see a bunch of pictures scolling as developping in LRC, only because the index finger has slightly touch the back of the mouse... Does anyone know a way to deactivate this behavior, ideally only in LRC? I wish Adobe offers a setting in the general preferences to solve this...
Why is it the the Page Numbers check box in the Book Module is a Module parameter? It seems like it should be an individual book parameter. I don't desire page numbers in all of the books I create. If I am working on a book and I want page numbers, I check the box. But then when I want to work on a book that I don't want page numbers, I have to uncheck the box. It would be nice to set the check box for page numbering at the outset of book creation and not have to worry about checking it again if I work on a different book without page numbers. This is very annoying if I am bouncing between books and they don't all have the same page numbering scheme. Please make Page Numbering an individual book parameter that gets saved with each individual book.
Adobe continues its practice of colluding with other corporations (AMD, Intel, Microsoft) by leaving out perfectly competent computers with AVX (up to 2013), capable of running professional programs much more demanding than LR and PS, in order to force subscribers to buy new computers with AVX2.
I want to be able to use one monitor just for the image under development, or otherwise being viewed, full-screen, and the other monitor(s) for the other stuff, especially library + develop panels.
I use masks to blur parts of my images, and in 99% of cases I use them inverted. Older version memorized this and the new version does not memorise the fact I used inverted mask just seconds ago, so for every new mask I have to additionally click on invert checkbox, which together with the fact I have to use masks now and create new ones with additional clicks, slows down my workflow. Please include Invert option to be remembered by Lightroom mask from the previous usage of the mask.
Hey , here an article : https://www.dpreview.com/articles/3278896840/head-to-head-adobe-lightroom-classic-vs-capture-one-21 So when it comes to speed we are 5 times slower. Why? Can we pls have the GPU use for "import" and "export" ? These are the most painfull tasks, you cant even do anything in the app... So GPU and something like MediaEncoder? for Lightroom. And why can´t we use the MediaEncoder for this? Its there and its fast. So for the export we would have a racehores. Then we only need something like speedy prelude for Lightroom. Who wants more speed ? more : ______ less: ________ thanxs Peter
I have been teaching people Lightroom for years, and right now I am working with someone on labeling their photos for prosperity as they reach the end of their life time. We already had to move back from Lightroom cloud to Lightroom classic since no keywords will export out of cloud. Now we have to rekeyword photos that he has organized from the last 100 plus years, since most the face detect didn't move over. The end result is that for his kids and grandkids to look at the photos outside of Lightroom, they still have to look at the file information to see the names of the people in the photos. Why not allow Lightroom to export a copy of the photo as normal and an additional copy with the face detect information watermarked over the image, so you can actually see who is who in the photo. I never thought about how useless all of my work in my catalog is for anyone else that doesn't have Lightroom. There has to be a better way to make use of all the w
Hi,I’d like to suggest an improvement for the Reference View feature in Lightroom Classic.Currently, when using this view, hovering over the image shows the RGB values for both the reference and active images below the histogram. However, this is only useful when the tones you want to compare happen to be in the exact same position in both images — which is rarely the case. My proposal is to allow users to place pairs of color sample points (eyedroppers) — one on the reference image and one on the active image.Ideally, we could place multiple pairs (e.g. up to 3–5), and click on the pair we want to activate. This would display the RGB values of those two specific points side by side under the histogram (e.g. R: 120 / 135 — G: 200 / 185 — B: 180 / 170).This would allow for much more accurate and targeted color comparisons between images, which is especially useful when trying to match color, light or white balance across a series or between unrelated shots. Alternatively —and
Please? A keyboard shortcut to start tethered capture would be a huge help for those of us professionals doing studio work. If you continue to restrict our access to customize keyboard shortcuts in LrC (which I'll never understand), at least give us a few of the things we use and need to allow us to keep everything within Adobe.
