Upright mode for framed artworks, documents and other rectangular objects will be great addition to LRIn this Upright mode algorithm should prioritze outer frame of rectangular object and ignore content incide the frame. This will be extremely usefull for shooting artworks, books, documents etc.
I'm u Fujifilm user and I would like to use Enhance details functin during export process of JPG's. Why? Because making new DNG files that are usualy 3 times larger than original RAF is no option to store it for me. So... Implement Enhance details in process of export would solve this issue. Of course it would be longer process of exporting file, but technically I do not see any issue why that wouldn't be possible to implement. What do you think?
Lightroom is already performing JXL compression on linear DNGs created from Panorama merges and other linear operations, and it has resulted in amazing space savings. The DNG spec already allows for JPEG92 compression on bayer data and JXL compression could offer an additional ~20% space savings over that. This is especially helpful on very large image files which are becoming more common. Lightroom already supports JXL compressed unmosaiced DNG files. Other tools can create them, and Lightroom supports those. Extending the "Create DNG" funtionality to use Lossless JXL would probably be a very user forward feature.
while exporting pictures from lightroom can't see remaining pictures nor remaining time...why
When the crop tool is active in Lightroom Classic, pressing the 'x' key switches the crop aspect ratio instead of rejecting the image. I request either 'x' always rejects the image, or the ability to redine the keyboard shortcuts, especially the 'x' key. I tried to use the translated strings file to redine the keystroke short cut, yet 'x' seems to be hard coded to switch the aspect ratio when the crop tool is active in the develop module regardless of what translation string I provide.
It would be extremely useful to have an option to filter images by export status. It would make my workflow much cleaner if I could "show photos that have NOT been exported yet."I am a wrestling photographer and often end up with tens of thousands of images from a tournament. I'll often need to quickly edit some matches from the resulting images and then come back to the album to finish, sometimes months and even years later.Because of this, I will often end up with different sections of an event in different stages of editing - some have been culled, some have been developed, some have been exported, and some haven't been reviewed at all. There are ways for me to separate out all of the different stages (flagged/unflagged, sort by edit time, etc) except for those that have been culled from those that have been developed and exported.I can make a workaround by labeling large groups with a color or a rating, but I use those structures for different things, and therefore it doesn't alway
I get that things can take a while like lens blur and generative fill but these features desperately need some visual feedback that they are "working" on things. Little spinning ball something.
I have used for many years iView, and then Expression Media to catalog my files, and I must say that even today I did not find nothing better from this point of view (on Mac). As the actual one is very limited, it will be very nice to implant some more powerful search/find function in the LR Library module. Something that allow to make very precise researches like, for example: "Find all the tif or pdf files with a weight > 1 000 000 bytes, a resolution of 300 dpi, an Adobe RGB profile and 16 bits of depth..." Image is not available It will be very nice too to have the possibility to personalize more the info on the preview module (for example somebody could be interested to see the weight in MB of each file, of the embedded color profile, or the resolution, or the depth of the file): Image is not available
If you accidentally hit CMD/CTRL + A and select all photos and then do CMD/CTRL + SHIFT + R you reset all edits on all photos without any warning at all.If you are in an edit flurry and don't realize you just did that you have destroyed your library. I know, I did it without realizing it to 200,000 photos. Please add a dialog to confirm resetting edits, especially if more than one file is selected.
It would save us all a lot of time if we could export our books created in Lightroom as spreads. Currently it exports as pages that even have to be re-pieced back together. Strangely though when one picture takes up two pages it always exports that one as a spread. So it should definitely be possible with a minor tweak in the settings. Thanks!
Since I posted this in 2021, and it still hasn't been implemented, I thought I'd post again. Please allow to set the cell size, then check a box that says Protect Cell Size so I can move margins but have them stop from encroaching on the cell size. I have to keep going back and forth, an finessing between Margins and Cell Size. Hard to believe that Lightroom is around almost 20 years old and this is still annoying. So simple, it would look like this: Gridlines, like in Photoshop, for laying our greeting cards would be nice too.Reid
At today we have the ability to move a Mask. While this is a welcome feature it is absolutely not enough! • Case 1 Often two or multiple Masks on the photo are created in relation witch each other, complementing each other, they are "linked" to each other so to speak. These Masks (although separated and with different effects) need to be moved at the same time, simultaneously! Now it's impossible to do so in a simple and efficient way. • Case 2 In our work we might find ourselves in need to move simultaneously some but not all components within a Mask...at today this is impossible. We should be able to select which components to move simultaneously. We need to be able to select and move simultaneously multiple Mask and Components. We are severely handicapped now without this basic feature. .
Who thought it was a good idea to have the lightroom shared links defaults to some random sorting ?? How hard is to have the capture date sorting by default when sharing a gallery??
Scrubby Zoom now works like a charm in develop module BUT we still can't use it in Loupe View 😞 It's a strange omissions: we should be able to use Scrubby Zoom in Loupe View as well and it should be implemented.
Stacking is such a helpful and useful feature. For example, when I create a panorama or an HDR bracket, I can stack the photos together, select the stacks, and then let LR figure out the bracketing. SUPER USEFUL for basic bracket shots or panos. However, I have to unstack or expand the photos to do things with the stcked photos. Some examples: I have to expand the stacks to mark the used brackets as rejected. There is no "relativity of stack status" between collections. In other words since stacks are collection specific, I can't grab an entire stack and move it between collections, or add the entire stack to a collection unless I expand the stack. Even if I do, its not stacked when it arrives. SUGGESTIONS: make a command key to allow stack manipulaton - basically a "select all in stack" option key for the selection process. make a "reject all but top of stack" command somewhere. A variant on this could be a "flag top of stack and reject the
Obg!
Hello, I am a user of adobe products for years now. But still I have not seen any improvement in case of the perfomance within photoshop and lightroom in the context of NVIDIA graphic accelerators usage. Is there any plan to introduce support of RTX video cards to speed the importing process and operating thumnabils and generally postprocessing within the lightroom enviroment? There are many products that are using to process images the video cards support with great results. Topaz Labs is a great example here. That shows it is possible. Cant wait to see finally proper usage of our computer equipment properly. We, customers are forced to upgrade systems, increase RAM amount, but the perfomance is dropping and dropping down instead of being increased by the devices that are now commonly accessible. Best regards, Darek Jaszewski, photoportraitist
I'm a wildlife photographer who has just returned from the Arctic. As I'm editing, I find myself with aproximately 1,000 images in sequence of an interaction between a polar bear and a walrus, in which the polar bear wakes a sleeping walrus on the pack ice who is obviously startled. What would be helpful is a crop feature in which the main subjects, in this case the polar bear and walrus, remain centered in frame across thousands of synced crops. This would solve having to manually recenter thousand(s) of images.
This question came up in a class I teach and I ended up writing a 8 or 9 step set of directions to do it! Create a preset for Auto Go to prefs and make it the global choice yada yada yada Why not just have it show up in the Apply During Import panel?
PROBLEM: The URL for a "Make Public" synced collection is too dark to see PROPOSAL: Make it brighter
Linking the autofocus points of the camera (from the metadata) with the 100% section in the "Details" category in the "Develop module" would be very helpful.
I am using Keywording as my example, and there are many further examples where I have similar issues. I would like to be able to slide the Pop Up Menu when creating Keywords to a postition on the screen where it does not sit right over the centre of the photo, so during an editing session it will always open in the place I have moved it to. I invariably find myself having to move the screen around all the time when working on an edit as it invariably covers some of the information that I am working with.
Ability to lock Lightroom masks to avoid accidently activitaing or altering one. I often find that I have several masks and while working on one I inadvertantly trigger a different mask and sometimes move it, or unintenionally alter it. A lock icon inbetween ot the "three dots" and visibility icon (the eye) would be very very useful and helpful. Easy access to trigger it and turn it off. I believe it would be an extremely useful feature.......
Hello everyone, I think that Lightroom Classic is missing a very useful and fast option to copy specific changes from a photo to another photo/photos like we can do in ACR or Lightroom: This option in Lightroom Classic is not fast like the Synchronize window I showed above because you've always to select and unselect the boxes: I think this this is a big miss and I don't understand how it is possible.
I make extensive use of the "Select People" feature. I always create separate masks for Facial Skin, Body Skin, Eye Sclera, Iris and Pupil, and Teeth.I then select each mask and apply a standard preset; e.g., "Soften Skin (Lite)" for Facial Skin, "Teeth Whitening" for Teeth. etc. Please allow me to specify a default preset for each mask type, so that this process is automated.Thanks.
