I submit images and videos to Adobe Stock and the keyword ranking there is important. The most significant keywords that apply to the image have to go first. With Lightroom you can copy the keyword and the paste at the beginning. This is a very slow process. You have the commas in the way, the panel is small, etc.   There is a software (Stock submitter) specialized for sending content to many agencies and it has solved this with a clever trick. Every keyword or multiple keywords if they are separated with commas are transformed into blocks. You can quickly drag any block into the position you want. No need to care about commas, pasting in the wrong spot etc. It is 100x times faster as it is implemented in Lightroom now. hope to see it one day in LR

I'm in LR6 trying to import images from a subfolder at the bottom of a folder tree.  I'm able to get a vertical scrollbar that allows me to get to the level in the "main import source panel" where that subfolder is.  How do I get a horizontal scrollbar, to get to the subfolder?

Hello,   I've been working recently in both Adobe Lightroom along with Camera Bit's Photo Mechanic Plus. Working in PhotoMechanic has shown me a few places that Lightroom is really lagging behind and could use a push to catch up!   One weakness I'd like to see addressed is the customization of the "Expanded Cells" in Grid View. My chief complaint is that Expanded Cells are not very spatially optimized. While in Compact Cells the two metadata extras you chose to include show up tight against the image. When you switch to Compact Cells all the metadata moves outside of a massive buffer space, which means that despite doubling the size allocated to each image you barely have any additional space for metadata... if we're going to Expand the Cells lets get some space for more metadata! Issue We need a rapid way to find images that have AI mask errors. These errors happen when copying/pasting or synchronizing an AI mask across multiple images.  The error is hidden and must be discovered by opening each image, opening masks, and looking through the list of applied masks, and selecting an AI mask to see the error. There is no current way I can find to locate images with errors.   Proposed solution Add a "Masks with error" filter to the filters in the Library module. Add an overlay icon or text panel indicator to photos with mask error conditions.    

It would be great to have an option to disable duplicate same keywords. I had to create a compulsory alphabet hierarchy because too many keywords in the keyword list freezes Lightroom, so I was suggested to create a hierarchy "dummy" so that this bug does not appear.   But now when I import images that have been already keyworded many words appear duplicated, for example aerial view. I have an aerial view inside the A letter top hierarchy and the same word outside of it. So I have to select every time all the images with the one outside of A and include them to the keyword inside A and then delete the duplicate keyword outside the A group. And this with hundreds of words. Really really annoying.   Lightroom should not let duplicate keywords or at least give the option to disable this possibility. The best of course would be for me to not have to create any hierarchy in the first place. And have no limits if I create a plain list with 8000 keywords. So then no keyword repeat w

In Lightroom Classic, when I export a file as a jpg I choose where the jpg file gets saved. What I would like to be able to do is to have LrC import the new jpeg files into a single collection of my choice after it creates the jpegs.   Example of how this is useful: I have a collection of RAW files that reside in multiple different folders in the Library but in a single collection. I plan to export this collection of these RAW files into jpeg files. I will save the individual jpegs back into the original folders where their respective RAW files were stored. However, I want to add (import) the new, exported jpegs into a single new or existing collection together. This would be a function that parallels the import function that allows you to not only import files into the Library but also add them together into a Collection. If this ability could exist when exporting it would save considerable time since the new jpegs were added back into their original folders which will require se

When no mask is selected, all masks are represented by the same marker. Having different icons would help identifying quickly which on is what. The icons are already different when the mask is selected. Can this icon be the same when the mask in unselected?

This drives me crazy...When exporting a bunch of images including virtual copies, setting filename such as custom name + sequence, virtual copy sequence numbers are not incremented.Example: Original file exported as M.Mrs.Doe-008.jpg and then the matching virtual copy exported as M.Mrs.Doe-008-2.jpgRenaming the original files before exporting is useless as virtual copy filenames depend on the original filename.But why exporting photos + VC doesn't follow a real sequencing rule ?  

In October 2021 there was a drop down filter (Lower right of the screen) in LcR. The client could view the images as they were being shot and just press "P" to remove the undesired ones. Once the shoot was done the only images in view were the "picked ones". I've used the other filters but they are a bit more cumbersome. It was the quickest and easiest way to view and delete images live. How do we get that back in the software? Thanks!

I hope Adobe is reading this 🙂   Since the update the masking tool takes one action too many (it sounds minor, but it prolongs the editing process unnecessary in my opinion). Normally pressing M (or K or shift+M) would show all mask pins already used when hovering the photo with the cursor, just the way it still works using the spot remeval tool (Q). But now pressing M, it opens a new mask, without showing the old pins. Another 'action' is needed to see what masks are already on the photo. I hope this gets changed soon. Or am I missing something?

When editing, masking sometimes involves trial and error where I hide masks for various reasons; they might be superceded, or I'm otherwise not using them.   It would be very convenient to be able to create a virtual copy using only the active/visible/unhidden masks - as a cleanup measure of sorts.  This could easily be accomplished by dividing the mask section into hidden and non-hidden in the settings window so we could skip the process of copying masks not in use.   To keep it simple, only the top-level 'eyeball' of a mask should be the determinant of whether a mask is hidden/unhidden; i.e. status of sub-components should be ignored.

I edit in reference view a lot.  When you need to crop or straighten a photo, it takes you out of reference view.  I would like to be able to crop without it exiting the reference view.

The workflow is a client has given you a series of image numbers that they want adjusted. This might be across a range of different days so the photos will be in different folders based on when you imported.   So you need to perform a search based on looking for the numbers in the filename that was exported.   For some strange reason, the search field is cleared midway through the workflow.   LRC 11.1 macOS Big Sur 11.6.3   Typically you are already working in a folder, so you don't have the top level folder selected. So when you do the search, it is scoped to the current folder. So if you just hit command F in Library then you aren't going to immediately start searching in the right place.   So you realise that the folder selection needs to be changed. Given the number of years I've been using LRC, scrolling to the top takes seconds ... it isn't instant.   So you select the top level folder in the side bar. It would be very useful if we could disable all together the Lightroom key shortcuts. They only slow my workflow so much when you hit them sometimes and are writing metadata.  Give users the control and don't force them to use assigned keywords if they don't want them. Thank you

It would be nice to have the Epson Print Layout app available in LRc as well as just in Photoshop - although you can export the image to Photoshop and print from there - just more steps. But EPL does have the limitation of no allowing a logo to be placed within the images white border area.   Just a thought...     aj

For those of use who use a lot of metadata presets and development effects presets, it would be really useful and save a lot of time we would go organise them into expandable groups.   For example, my metadata presets include lots of information, and keywords linked to the location, and they are labeled by location (Greece, Dodecanese, Samos, for example), but I have a LOT of places within Greece and many other countries and so my list is now endless and growing and I have to scroll through them all to find the one I want. It would be much easier if I could group them by Country, and when I first see my metadata list, I just see the country.. then when I click on the country, it can show me a folder of regions, and then from there the places within the region... Just like Finder on a Mac.   The same goes for the list of effects presets in the Develop Module... it would be good if we could have folders so  we could group our effects by need, eg, for portrait images like s

I recently switched plans from my $4.97 US/month lightroom plan to try out photoshop, but upon switching my plan back I found out that the cheapest lightroom plan is now $12.99US/month.   As someone who is just starting with photography and trying to learn on my own, I don't need 1 TB of storage or 8 "bonus apps." I just want access to lightroom and it's tutorials for an affordable price. I'm really disappointed that there isn't a more simple and affordable option. I am going to have to cancel my subscription. Please add some simpler featureless plans for people who want to start out and learn, but can't commit to $14.99/month on a hobby they don't earn income on.   I'm probably going to switch over to a free app, which I would rather not do. You're pricing yourself out of beginner customers, please consider making more affordable options.

If a mask was started on an area that is now hidden by a crop, the mask marker is not visible anymore when entering mask mode (K). Modifying a hidden mask means modifying the current crop to get access to the mask marker and setting the crop again after modification.   Masks markers out of crop should either: - show on the outside edges of the picture area - be allowed to be moved in the crop area if the mask is also active here

An alternate display mode in the Color Grading tool would be appreciated. Instead of showing the color wheels, just display the hue/saturation/luminance sliders for shadows/midtones/highlights one below each other. Global could be in the same view or in another (like today).   Reason: I don't use the color wheels and they take screen real estate for nothing (for me) instead of giving me access to all three adjustements.   M1 MBA / macOS 12.2.1 / LR 11.2

Please add a way to search for a date by month (and day). For instance July 4 in EVERY year. Or all photos ever taken in June of any year.Right now I can search it only one year at a time. Thanks

Lightroom version 11.1 Organiser version 20.0 OS Windows10 Version 21H1 I'm trying to import a catalog from elements 2022 Organiser into Lightroom Classic. It doesn't recognise the catalog from version 2022. The file type is PSE20DB if you look at the drop down listing supported files it only goes up to pse19db. Any idea if or when it's going to be updated, please?

would be great if in masking you can add preset to either the background only or subject only ... for clothing photography using presets it changes the colours so would be great to be able to only use a preset on the background of an image and not affecting the model/clothing

Mes photos étant principalement destinées à la projection ou le Web, elles sont développées à 6500 K et 120/140 cd/m2. Lorsque je veux les tirer sur papier, je fais une copie virtuelle que je modifie sur mon écran cette fois-ci réglé à 5500 K et 90 cd/m2 et je réalise l'épreuvage écran par rapport à cette copie virtuelle. I'm trying to find an easier solution for creating a white border with a name plate in the border for a batch of web images.  Yes, I have read this https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/batch-processing-with-bordering-and-watermarking/m-p/10479648 I think being able to achieve this via the export panel would be a wonderful upgraded feature of LR.  Until then it looks like their is a third party plugin that does the job.  How difficult would this be to implement?  

I propose to have no sliders and employ a "hover over preview" system for settings. Hover over preview is, in my opinion, the best way to work.   HOW WOULD IT WORK Instead of having to click and drag a slider we would simply have hover over the area where now the sliders reside AND when hovering over the effect would be previewed in full screen (same behavior we already have for Develop Presets) Then if we want to commit the value we click.A small circle would then appears at that value position as reference and the numerical values appear on the side as usual.I made a mock-up UI where you can compare my idea vs the existing UI.   This system would be incredibly advantageous compared to sliders.Previewing is extremely advantageous and with the step-marks we would be able to get/jump to the value we want much faster and more clearly than now.Also  we would be able to have/set a value BUT at the same time preview a different one to see the difference.E.g.Set Hi
