I'm seriously looking forward to the day native sky replacement comes to Lightroom? Most of the functionality is already there (masking), and it already exists in PS. Please adobe. Thank you!
As I look over images in large grid mode, I'd love to be able to tap/slide left side to assign star ratings or flags. This will speed up my efforts to separate images with potential from those I'll delete. Now I need to go through one at a time and I'll often star or flag something only to discover a better candidate farther down the process. Then I go back and remove the star/flag. Especially when shooting 20 frames/second, there are so many to weed through.
I remove the background in my portrait photos a lot. I use Lightroom CC for the initial edits, but I have to take it to Photoshop to remove the background properly. For initial review pics to be sent to my client, I prefer a simple workflow that I can accomplish in Lightroom. [Even Canva has a 1-click background remover (which I use many times when Photoshop can be cumbersome in my workflow)]. When pressed for time, I use the "mask" feature to select the background and decrease exposure or change color. But this impacts the edges of my subject. Removing the background cleanly and adding a simple background would be great from inside Lightroom. This will help me accelerate my workflow tremendously! Do you have any tips or workarounds?
"I hope the developer considers adding batch editing with masking functionality. Currently, batch editing doesn't seem to apply masking, requiring individual edits. It would be great if this feature is improved soon."
I am a photographer who uses Lightroom collaborative proofing. I want clients to be able to make image selections without having to sign up for their own Adobe ID. Although it is free most people don't want to have to sign up with another username and password to a website that they feel they are likely to never use. The workaround that I've been using is supplying my clients with an email and password for an additional 'free' Adobe account that I have setup however this only allows 5 people to use the credentials before it requires 2 factor authentication (making this system unusable). If proofing selections were able to be made by 'anyone with the link' it would make the system much more usable to so many more people.
Adobe has been doing great work with Lightroom Mobile in the areas of Editing and Sharing, but its time to work on the Capture element. The in-app camera is good but is starting to lag behind some of the other pro-camera apps that are available. I would like to see: Live histogram while shooting Burst mode via volume up button(I think it was available back in 2017) https://lightroomkillertips.com/tips/ Remote shooting via Apple Watch or other BT device Return of long exposure Updated camera interface I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max with the latest updates.
This idea is for android devices only since ios devices don't have a system back button. When it's pressed, currently it kills the app. Please bring up the album/folder panel instead, or go to the parent folder directly. Thanks
really, guys? it is great that you've implemented this feature (that Lr classic lacks so much), but not considering the border in the dimension of the rendered file is so dumb. the app even warns you of that, like it is easy to calculate the right size based on the slider unit of whatever. you don't even need ux research to find that this is a bad decision.
I'm not a professional and have only used Lightroom for less than a year. I do love the redesign and I want to use it but I don't like the auto-sync. How hard would it be to implement an option that prevents auto sync and instead enables manual sync? My idea is to add a manual sync option in the settings and when you want a photo to be uploaded to the cloud you should be able to click on the cloud button and hit "Sync" or "Upload". Taking away people's ability to choose doesn't just scare away the pros but also the beginners. Also, some advanced features from the original Lightroom need to be added. One of them is the export function. The new export function is terrible. I only see "Small, Full Size, and Custom". The original Lightroom has a lot more export functions.
I can hardly believe it if so. It is presumably trivial to add and yet is potentially an impediment to migrating from Classic to Cloud. I have tens of thousands of photos with text in the caption field and I use it being empty as a distinguishing mark on whether I have fully finished identifying what is in the photo (bird names in this case).
When will Lightroom CC on IPad and IPhone show location data like the desktop version?
I’d love to have a way in Lightroom (cloud-based) to search for photos that include multiple named people together—for example, photos that include both “Penelope” and “Eli.” Currently, typing multiple names into the search bar returns photos with either person, not necessarily both. It would be incredibly helpful—especially for families, event photographers, and anyone managing personal photo libraries—to have an “AND” function in People search. This could be a simple Boolean search upgrade (e.g., “Penelope AND Eli”), or a UI option to filter by selecting multiple named people. Thanks for considering this improvement—it would make Lightroom much more powerful for organizing and retrieving memories.
I am using Lightroom v10.3 9B89DD/197. on iPad (11" M1 Pro iPadOS 18.4.1). I am trying to find the 'monochrome' or 'black and white' images in my collection and it is only returning a few dozen or so of the hundreds of images I have that are monochrom/black and white--not simple 'desaturate', but properly made using Lightroom's own B&W 'button' under the colour panel. These images are from various camera models: Nikon D800E, Sony RX-10iii, Olympus/OM System OM-1, for e.g. To reproduce the issue: In 'All Photos', I begin typing in the search field (magnifying glass at top right) "mono—" and select 'monochrome' from the drop down list. Only a few dozen images show. I clear that search then start typing 'black—' and choose 'black and white' from the drop down list. Again, only a few dozen image show--the same image. Perhaps I am expecting too much from the Sensei search, but it should be able to recognize monochrome images or, at the very least, choose those images that have been
Can we please have a duplicate file/photo option in Lightroom mobile?
add the ability to add loot to lightroom mobile in cube format
It would be really useful to be able to "update" versions of edits rather than just save new ones. I often save a version, try something different and then want to update the saved version. At the moment I have to create a new version and then delete the old version.
By default, people are not able to download pictures that are shared with them online via a browser. So if I have numerous catalogues I want to share with someone, I currently have to go in to the setting each time and change it from the default so that it is allowed. I propose that people should be able to change their own default sharing settings (since it's very likely that different individual users will have different requirements).
I've made a fake light leak in Lightroom using masks. To get it looking as good as I can, I had to use several masks and several modifications (additions and subtractions) on each mask. But now I can't move the intended effect around without moving each maks and each piece of each mask separately. Which makes putting them all in a different location in the photo, hard. It's hard because there are many things to move, meaning many tasks to do, and it's hard because it's hard to line things up the way I originally intended. So it would be nice to be able to select several things and move them at the same time.
This is a feature request for Lightroom for iPad. It would be great if I could apply the "auto" edit function to all selected photos (or all photos in a particular album, or all photos in a particular import), rather than having to manually apply the "auto" editing tool for each one, on Lightroom for iPad. I understand this can be done on the desktop version of Lightroom, but it cannot be done on the iPad version. I travel with an iPad, not a laptop, and I prefer to apply "auto" edit to my shots and then work from there with my own tweaks, rather than starting from a raw file or jpeg and manually editing from scratch. For example, I shot 6000 images during a glorious week of travel in Kenya this past week, and I am at the airport right now with my iPad keen to cull them down and edit the best ones during the long flight home. It takes forever to go image by image. I could probably get the whole job done in one plane flight if Lightroom had this feature.
In order to more effectively rate and flag photographs based on how well focused the image is on the eyes of the subject, I suggest a feature that would allow you to scroll through your images while initially reviewing them, and automatically shift the zoomed area over the face of the subject.
Real-time, live refresh for shared Lightroom albums would be ideal – especially for live event photographers with cloud-based workflows. This would allow clients to see newly uploaded images appear instantly, without needing to manually refresh the webpage. If this isn’t feasible, a popup such as “This album has been updated. Please refresh to see the latest images.” would still improve the experience.
I have tailored the camera to take photos using a specific set of options - eg. DNG, grid lines, 16:9 etc How do I save this as my default? Thank you. Title edited by Moderator for clarity purposes.
