I'd love a setting that would allow me to preserve aspect ratio while scaling in Illustrator without holding Shift, like it is by default in Photoshop.I often jump back and forth between Photoshop and Illustrator on jobs, and it’s frustrating to me that these two programs aren’t in sync on whether you need to hold the Shift key to preserve aspect ratio while scaling an object. I know Photoshop allows you to choose the legacy setting where you need to hold Shift to preserve aspect ratio, but I’d rather it be the other way around, where both applications allowed you to preserve aspect ratio without holding Shift.I don’t want to upset the workflows of Illustrator users accustomed to holding Shift, so could a setting be added to Illustrator’s Preferences to allow users to opt-in to this synchronized behavior?

Let us rename the RAW file in the smart object, that's it!I've spent hours chatting with adobe agents on this subject with no result on what should be a relatively simple function. The smart object is not linked so I should be able to name it whatever I want without consequences to my work and/or workflow. thanks

Image Size Preview I wish there was a way to turn off the Image Size Preview, before I resize... 🙊 when working on a very large file you have to wait for the process bar to 'Build the Preview' every time you change a value.  I don't particularly see the value in having a preview window here, but if it is to stay please at least allow users to turn off the preview BEFORE resizing a very large file  Thanks

Please allow me to turn off image size preview in  image size dialog box. I have to convert 12000 pixel images with 40 layers down  to 1080 and the preview takes waaaaayyyyyy too long. My production time suffers greatly. I do not need to see the preview

After going back with Chat for over an hour to get Photoshop to work for me properly, plus countless hours working around what feels like the buggiest photoshop ever…. Just one of those things that i've always thought could come in REALLY handy. I have no idea how the actuality of this function would work due to all the possible complexities of the contents within a layer group... but wow, i often think i'd love to clip some adjustment layers to a Layer Group. I am aware of the Pass through to Normal feature but it doesn't really cut it.

So I have updated to v27.10 on my Windows machine and was excited to try this new layer functions, as of course the blacks slider for instance is really useful. For a few days, I was able to use it… but now when I open ps, the Light layer defaults to the Legacy (before 2026) version and I cannot select the latest (recommended) version because it is greyed out! I’m not sure what changed. I can’t find anything in settings about it, but these menus are also a maze, so I’m not above asking for directions. 

When working in Photoshop with many documents open at once, it can quickly become difficult to identify the document you’re looking for among all the tabs — especially when frequently dragging layers, images and other assets between documents.It would be extremely useful if we could assign a color label to individual document tabs, similar to the color-label system already used for layers.Ideally, right-clicking a document tab would offer a selection of colors (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, etc.), plus “No Color.” The selected color would then be clearly visible on the tab itself.This would make it much easier to visually group and identify documents at a glance, and significantly improve workflows that involve moving or dragging assets back and forth between multiple open files.I’ve attached a mockup showing how it could work.

Every time I open Photoshop to get to work, I get this. There is a reason I'm using the version that I'm using and no matter how many popups I get, I'm not going to update PS versions. I'm going to switch to Affinity. I loathe "GenAI" - it's lazy, harmful to the environment, and it has no place in my work. I believe it's offensive to the idea of being a creative. More than that I need Photoshop to not *get in my way* while I'm trying to clock in for the day.If the friction I experience while attempting to avoid unwated AI popups/features/(chat bots while I'm trying to get adobe support??) starts to get near the friction I would experience migrating to a new suite of programs, then I'll just do that. I've been a PS user for 20 years at this point and this is finally pushing me away.

When I place a photo into an existing Photoshop document, I’d like Photoshop to offer an option to automatically resize and center it to fit the canvas while preserving its proportions.It would be useful to have two choices: Fit, which shows the whole photo, and Fill, which covers the canvas and crops the image only if needed. This would save me from manually resizing every image with Free Transform, especially when working with portrait, landscape, or differently sized images.

For those of us who prefer not to use AI-based features, provide a full shut-off switch in the application.I’m supposedly subscribed to a version that does not include AI, but I still see aspects of it in the application.I want nothing to do with it. I’m not alone. Make that possible for those of us who refuse to use it.

Please add option to set the default value for Denoise AI, i find 50 is overly high i use about 10-25 max most time i want it at 15, but every time checkbox next to Denoise AI is clicked it defaults to 50 making whole photo look like wax, i know some people like that, but there should be a choice. because Denoise AI is resource hungry thng and sometimes fiddling with it too much crashing my Photoshop even though i have 32 GB or RAM and video 8 GB. Then every time i move the slider i have to update the AI Edit Status which is another reason Photoshop crashes and progress being lost. I am not reporting crashing issues because its been like this for countless versions, only need to be able to set default value for Denoise AI.    

I understand that rationale (more or less) of removing the 3D features in Photoshop and making them their own set of applications.  But being able to view and edit a 360 degree photo in Photoshop is BARELY a 3D tool.  In point of fact, everything needed to manipulate and view that image can be done using standard mathematics, and neither Open GL nor Direct X need be involved. No one will be buying Substance to work on spherical maps. And Photoshop is the perfect place to work on spherical maps for use elsewhere, including the Substance suite. Please give us an ability to work on spherical maps in Photoshop, where it makes sense.

I'm sure like me, you all have multiple Photoshop documents/projects on the go at the same time. Well as soon as you get to around 5 or more documents open at once, the tab list of documents no longer fit across the toolbar.It's also equally frustrating that the active tab you're currently working on doesn't just display the name of the psd, but also displays the name of the currently selected layer (like I care), the zoom level (why on earth?!) and the colour mode (meh?). I'm confident that there are ways in which Adobe could change the layout of the tabs and I have a few ideas which could work. Let me know what you think. Photoshop is pretty much the industry standard for concept art and digital drawing.I think it could become an even more powerful tool for artists by introducing dedicated ellipse guides for cylindrical forms and vehicle wheels, along with perspective guides for drawing objects and architectural forms.Thank you!

I photograph the winning entries in a national quilt competition every year, and I process around 100 quilt images in Photoshop. Each quilt needs to be corrected for sagging, buckling, uneven hanging, and perspective issues — all without distorting the quilt’s design.My workflow for every image includes: Straightening using ACR guides Perspective Warp for planar correction Puppet Warp for fine straightening Cropping Cloning to fill gaps created by warping Adding a consistent border for presentation This takes 20–25 minutes per quilt, adding up to 40–50 hours of manual editing. The most difficult and time‑consuming part is Puppet Warp, where I must manually place 40–50 pins around the quilt edges and then nudge each one to straighten the lines. Why just horizontal or vertical guide lines? why don't you introduce angular guides or perhaps a function like the one in illustratore "make guide" ?

Photoshop desktop is just not that great for left-handed users. My greatest frustration with it is the fact that there seems to be no option to have the scrollbars on any panel be on the left side instead of right. Because of this right-handed interface, my left hand often covers the layers in my layer panel when I try to reach the scrollbar. Left-handed scrollbars is a feature that has been brought up for so, so many years already, please make it finally happen this year! This has been brought up since 6 whole years ago and still nothing has been done to make scrolling, an integral part of the PS interface, left-handed user friendly.

The Move Tool currently defaults ot Auto-Select being enabled by default. This was changed a few years ago, we're past all the confusion this caused, so we've had time to see how well this change worked (or not).   Argument for keeping it: New users who don't understand layers can click on this on the image to move them, and this can be intuitive for someone completely new to Photoshop.   Unfortunately, in my experience (doing support on /r/Photoshop and holding Photoshop classes) this option being enabled by default causes more problems than it solves, and experienced users tend to turn it off. With overlapping layers it is easy to move the wrong layer as it will usually grab the top layer, making it "impossible" to move the desired layer.Example: Here, clicking the icon will grab the text layer. When selecting a tool such as Crop, a panel opens which covers part of the workspace for the image being edited.  The options menu should open in a moveable window that the user can resize and shift around to a convenient location on the screen instead of automatically obscuring part of the image.  Working space on a laptop screen is small enough already; a moveable window would help make the most of the limited space available.  And get rid of crop suggestions!  They are a waste of space and processing resources.

Hello,I think it would be great if a "restore session on start" feature were added, just like in web browsers.I tried implementing this using JSX (PhotoshopSessionManager), but it would be ideal if it were available natively across all applications.Thanks. Great Apps. I like it.
