P: Support scalable user interface UI for high resolution monitors

I'm using a high resolution monitor(2560x1600). As a result, all the the toolbar fonts and menu fonts are small and hard to see. I do not want to lower the screen resolution as this would defeat the purpose of this monitor.. Will the new CS6 have the ability to increase font sizes to accommidate Hi-Res monitors?

Thanks

It would be great if I could enlarge the toolbar icons just a tad. If i could just spread the bar out a bit, and at the same time, the icons would increase in size. Same thing for the "add adjustment" area.

Microsoft with it Windows operating systems and suites of products has invested time and effort to support people with seeing issues. The code base for Microsoft must be huge in comparison to Adobe, but they invested the time and effort.

So come on aAdobe, do the right thing and make some announcement soon, before this thread get covered in cobwebs

I also wonder why they don't make the brush cursor more visible. It's so hard to see if the image and cursor colors are close.

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for merging keeps all of us having the same problem together. Now is there going to be a correction to all software PSE and Photoshop, for those who are having problems seeing our menus and such? Its long overdue

As a long time Photoshop user, I'm disappointed that CS6 does not include an option to make ALL selections/type larger. The program seems to have been designed by teenagers with perfect eyesight. Unfortunately, many users do not have perfect eyesight and struggle to see the fonts and icons used in PHotoshop. STRONGLY recommend an option that would allow users to increase the font/icon size.

Also, many of the help items assume the user has the same knowledge as the software developer. We don't and often cannot find the "button" we're told to click. Recommend less knowledgeable people be asked to use the recommended help items to see if a "real" user can make them work. Unfortunately, many users finf these help items useless.

UI is in 2PT font and, unlike any other program I own, will not enlarge text or icons and is illegible on a 27” screen. Complaints in forums seem to go back to 2006.

Seems to be a clear distain for customers, and mistreatment of anyone with even
small vision issues.
The suggested solution of negating the basic value of a new high res monitor by lowering the resolution is completely unacceptable...no other program seems to be this arrogant.

I think it is time by this next release for Adobe to adress the issue for high quality HD monitors. 2560 x 1440, or 2560 x 1600, these are screen resolutions alot of pros like to work at. Can Adobe application engineers produce a scalable option or add an option to the Edit>Pref>Inteface to make the icons for tools and text fonts for menus larger than what it already there. I am speaking for HD screen resolutions that are pretty high. Either way, I loaded Photoshop Elements 10, a trial version nonetheless, and the interface was great, large icons and all, readability was fine, si it is truly a "in-Program" fix so the interface can be adjusted to HD monitors, I have a Dell 27 inch. I know, the current version of CS5 when set to 2560 x 1440 the interface components get smaller, and that is why, but, Adobe has to code a new version to be higher scalable for these types of resolutions. If they can do it in PSE 10, why not Photoshop? After all, CS6 is gonna go dark UI, might as well scale it up, too!!!! C'mon Adobe, I've been using Photoshop since vers 2.0 in 1995, you can do this. I know, alot of us pros have hotkeys memorized or whatever, but there are so many other features and techniques, I rather click select a tool and use my hotkeys to do other involved tasks. Also, the Layers panel has an option to make the layer boxes bigger, if its that easy to incluse, why not add to the whole interface of components, or at least just the tools bar and menu bars and the dialogue windows to make adjustments and all......And if you do, can you mk a patch or something so I can do it in CS5? At least until I can afford CS6..... 🙂

This thread is over 5-Months old and no commitment from Adobe to issue a bug fix has been forthcoming. There are plenty of graphics program alternatives out there, so just pick one and move on to trading permanent eyestrain and unending frustration, for a temporary learning curve and a potential software cost savings. For me, Adobe no longer poses an impediment to my business; 4-months ago, I followed my own advice.
