P: Support scalable user interface UI for high resolution monitors

I'm using a high resolution monitor(2560x1600). As a result, all the the toolbar fonts and menu fonts are small and hard to see. I do not want to lower the screen resolution as this would defeat the purpose of this monitor.. Will the new CS6 have the ability to increase font sizes to accommidate Hi-Res monitors?

Thanks

Please oh PLEASE have mercy on those of us over 40 who squint and struggle to read the tiny text and decipher the tiny icons in your UI. Can't we please have an
option to make the text and icons larger? MUCH larger? Oh Please! I travel A LOT and so do almost all of my work on a laptop --- I cannot lug a spare large-screen monitor around. Have mercy on us oldies -- please! I know I'm not alone in this request...

I would like to see Adobe find a way to fix this too small tool box problem! After years of learning Photo Shop, I hate to have to switch to another photo editing program just because I can't see the tool box. And I can not see it!

I have a high resolution monitor and adjusting the text size to the dpi recommended by Adobe in Windows 7 does nothing for PSE (don't know about Photoshop) . Besides, it changes the font size in everything else in Windows which is unacceptable. The change must come from within the program itself. Who wants to try and mess with the magnifier when working on photos?? An expensive program like this should have all these adjustments within the program and should have foreseen what would happen as higher resolution monitors were being developed. The tools are so tiny and the explanation of the tools which shows up when you hover the mouse over the tools are virtually unreadable in PSE 8. Strange that I don't have this problem with any other program on my computer where the contrast is very good and font size is acceptable.

Also, I found a way to increase the size of an application on a Mac, but I would strongly label that with "Try at your own risk!" (if it is still valid in 10.6 or 10.7): http://www.macworld.com/article/14217...

I'm also wondering, on the Mac side, if universal access can be of help.
In any case of scaling, I would expect artefacts.

For PCs, there is a way to scale some system fonts by going on Personalization in the control panel, and selecting Adjust font size,

I'd like to double-check if every poster in the thread is aware of the existing UI font scaling options available in preferences>interface>UI text options (CMD+K (Mac) / CTRL+K (Pc))

For the moment, for those having issues with the UI size,
There is also a way to scale the view on a Mac, by holding Control+Scrolling (or two fingers slide on a trackpad)
Windows offers the magnifier (Right-click on the desktop, select personalize, on bottom left, pick ease of access)

I'm wondering if the menu bar size is not a parameter that is controlled by the OS.

Thanks for the request. The tool bar in CS1 and CS5 are actually the same size - although monitor size and resolution has grown over the years. It's something we need to address as monitors and resolution continue to grow.
