Hello, I find it couter-intuitive that when an edit point or clip is selected in the timeline the arrow keys default to moving the playhead rather than adjusting the trim of the edit point or nudging the clip. I know that I can trim and nudge using the option modifier, but it would optimize the workflow to have these shortcuts be context aware (nudge when a clip is selected or trim when an edit is selected). This is especially true because I use a jog shuttle. It's a small change, but I think it would make the interface more intuitive.
Premiere Pro's effect panel is missing critical information on the effects. Some note if they are supporting 32bit float. But the reality is that many more than shown actually do. And the ones that don't you have to figure out via testing. It would be nice if all effects would note what their operating depth is just like in After Effects! With blurs for example, Premiere's Camera Blur is 8int or 16int but Directional Blur 32float.
As I continue to use the excellent Transcription feature in Premiere I've found a small stumbling block. A lot of the times I'm working with interviews that involve industry-specific knowledge, odd company names, or odd brand names (for example, a company name that is a four letter acronym such as "ETLN"). When transcribing these sequences, Premiere gets tripped up trying to find standard English words that fit in the sounds it hears, creating transcriptions that become difficult to search or easily convert into captions. Not sure how possible it would be, but it would be great if we could "train" the tool per project by giving it company names, jargon, slang, product names, etc that may be used in the interview. This way the tool knows that when someone says something like "ETLN" it's a company name and not "a tea Ellen."
In Premiere Pro we're missing quite some blur effects. For us the biggest issue is Gaussian Blur being an undesirable effect because it creates negative values and harsh transitions into them. For that reason we resort to Fast Box Blur which works well but it isn't available in Premiere Pro! As a workaround we are now forced to use third party plugins for a simple blur in Premiere. It would be great to have a lot more parity between effects in both suites. It's also beneficial for moving stuff over from offline comp in Premiere to online comp in AE.
It would be awesome to have a context menu option to toggle looping of clips, similar to the loopOut() expression in AE. When enabled, you could extend the clip as far as you need.In 2024, a lot of popular videos for youtube and other social media platforms include animated gifs and memes, and currently you have to duplicate and stack the clips next to each other. With small gifs that can sometimes mean 20 or 30 clips in a row.
Many features are totally slowing my workflo drastically. Since the update i've been very frustrated, you should have left all of the previous benefits and installed more. but you completely change small details" that helped a lot. I've been postponing writing here because i figured I would eventually figure everything out, but everyday I manage to find something new that makes me very frustated. making me think that it would be better of if I started learning davinci resolve and change systems in a year. The first one is that you forced me to change a big session I had on premiere 2022. i used to work very fast in that version, algo regarding subtitles. but suddenly you forced the 2024 update And I literallly lost a day of work solving many issues from my session that did not upload automatically. afterwards Ive encountered many issues with transcripts and subtitles in 2024 premiere, the first one being that sometimes I like to work in ONE session, and only change some videos and
It would be great to have more options to change defaults of "playback shuttle speed". I end up editing a lot of long-form talking-heads type videos and vlog style material. This often has lots of little cuts and edits, so adjusting the clip speed and then resetting it to default later is onerous and feels like a work around for a feature that exists and is almost perfect. That feature is Shuttle Right and Slow Shuttle Right. I wish I could adjust the default speed increments for both of these. Additionally when I make an edit the playback speed is reset to 1x (realtime). It would be great to be able to toggle that on and off.Because I am often working with very long clips/sequences adjusting the speed via the duration menu is a pain, but the default speed for shuttle Right is too fast, so I end up pressing [Shift+L] about 5 times to get to the right speed for me. An area in preferences where I could set the detault speed adjustment for [L] (say 1.5x or 1.75x) and an option to set it to
Sometimes i import mogrts from the filesystem and in a week i forget where they are stored. i dont know how to finde out, where thy are stored.
Can Adobe create a way to show a detail list of total time for editing a project. This list would help an editor bill a customer and provide to the custom the exact editing time. Maybe something like the history of the project.
Exporting a Prores 4444 file with a Premiere created surround (5.1) mix from Premiere 23.2 and ME 23.2.1 causes Pr (or Me) to hang/crash. It would also be good if this output module was updated to work on Silicon so as to avoid booting in Rosetta to use it (when it works). I am using macos 12.6.3
Add an option to preserve empty folder structures on import! Often I or an assistant editor will create a folder structure in the finder with empty folders to be populated with media later on in the production workflow (i.e. Final mix stems, color files, graphics). Currently if you import empty folders or folders with only one item in them, those empty folders disappear on import and the single item that was inside them is left outside any folder. This prevents planning and proper organization, and I'm not sure what the benefit of it is? Fewer folders? But I wanted those, that's why I made them. Just leave the folder structures as they are, don't change them. If some users want an option to "automatically remove empty folders on import" then add that, but don't make removing them the default. Importing empty folder structures is an essential organizational tool for any medium to large scale professional production. I made this same request in May of 2018 and have never gotten a respon
I'd love to have multiple transcript panels open at the same time. Currently I’ll be in the old seq looking for a section to use and then to remember where I left off in the new seq, I’ll have to select the new seq to bring up the transcript panel for that seq to see what the last line was, then click back on the old seq and see if what I selected might work. it's not very efficient and slows down my workflow. If I could have 1 transcript panel open for the seq i'm pulling from and another transcript panel open at the same time for the seq that i'm adding to, it'd be a lot less clicking around and i could be faster. This will help me remember where i left off and give me a quicker idea if what i'm looking for in the from seq will work or not.
Please create an option where I can use the "Export to text file" to create a text document that includes the clip timecode - NOT THE SEQUENCE timecode. This helps workflow with non editors such as clients and producers that can use the text file and send the editor accurate timecode from the clips and not the timecode on the sequence we created. Thanks
Please support Chinese for the 3D LUTs list,I really need it!
While you can still export HDR content using Hardware Encoding 2100 PQ, you cannot "Include HDR 10 Metadata", unless you use Software Encoding. Adding the ability to "Include HDR 10 Metadata"while using Hardware Encoding would help greatly speed up exports for HDR videos. This would help give YouTube more information about your videos to display them correctly.
Maybe I'm dumb and haven't figured it out but what I want is a very simple effect that creates a timer that can count up or down in mm:ss. Timecode exists but is a pain to use and unless I recorded in 60fps I can't get the clock to properly read every second and so it looks weird. I would think this should be an incredibly easy feature to add as it's literally just a timer that counts in seconds. Having settings that would allow you to choose a starting time, count up or down, how it's displayed would also make it more usable.
Hey everyone!I was wondering, if there is a possibility to label the whole track, not just the clips.Sadly I didn't find this function, but I think this is very useful in the workflow, If youre zoomed out. It would be possible to distinguish each track with one quick glimpse of an eye.I know that there is the possibility to label each type of Clip, Video, Audio, Still and so on, but not the whole track. I would like to see that feature in the future! Hope you can make it possible 🙂 Thank you very much.Kind regardsMartin
As a Real Estate Videographer, I spend hours masking and keyframing windows to get proper exposure in my videos. Although I shoot in LOG profile, and expose properly, the windows are always going to be slightly more exposed than I'd prefer. I'd love to see a new masking tool or blend mode that will allow me to make a selection based on that brightness level, and then apply an exposure adjustment, thus bringing back the windows.
This is something that I feel like has been asked for time and time again... Can you allow us to add a hotkey for the "Close Other Timelines Panels" command? It would make doing that so much faster since Premiere doesn't close sequences for you like Avid. Thanks.
I work with a couple of LUTs and use a home and work computer. I have the same LUTs I need on both computers but I have more LUTs on my home computer. The problem is I will use a LUT at work and even though I have the same LUT at home when I open the project at home it applies a different LUT to the shots I have already colored. For example, lets say I have a LUT named "Color" and it is the first LUT listed in my lumetri list. When I open the project at home Lumetri will apply the LUT that is first on the list regardless if it is "Color" or not. So I have to go back in and reapply the correct LUT to each shot. What I am suggesting is that Lumetri tries to locate the exact name and apply said LUT rather than going on position. Obviously if the same name does not exist, it should have a default.
It would be great to have audio media replacement for MOGRTs. Why not offer a way to replace audio? Currently we are only limited to images and videos without audio. The problem is, that MOGRT files will not react responsive when imported to Premiere Pro, when there is audio on the After Effects comp, where the MOGRT originates from. MOGRTs will break even if the audio in not in the protected region of the After Effects comp, but also on any other part of the comp. I can't be the only one to see the potential applications. Also, it would be great to display the protected regions on the MOGRT in Premiere as visual reference, just like the blue bars in After Effects.
It"s incredible how in 2024 you dont"t have slowmotion in the effects tabYou have to do 6 steps :1. select clip2. press CTRL + R3. press 504. select optical flow5. click OK6. render clipinstdead drag an drop a slowmotion effect on the clipReally ?
PFA screenshot of interface, where marked in red is indication for improvement.there are lots of extra spaces in overall UI, which can be trimdown. So we can use more usable area for timeline, Preview Window, Tools, Effects, etc. Please refer attached screenshot for reffrence.
Transparency for Cross Dissolve Transition need to be improved,Transparency should go 100% to 0% with ease.Right now it is suddenly desapper in last 2-3 franes, as result it looks abrupt.
