Feature Requests

We all know there is a bunch of things in Resolve that makes Resolve the leading choice for commercial production and for proffesional use with colorgrading.  And I know if we only could get at least 50%. Most people would not switch.  I know that there are a lot of young people who is getting into film making and when you have a free software that you could practice and master until you buy it is too tempting for most people. So why would they choose a software that is paid monthly and have less options? More and more people want to focus on film making and not just content, which makes Resolve a absolut attractive start. So what type of features whould change that view? What should Adobe adopt to become the Colorgraders choice?Just having Vectorscopes in curves would be a simple thing to start with.Depth map maybe? We are soon getting our own "Magic mask" which is a great start for not needing to jump between PP and AE. I'm just here throwing out ideas and discussio

There are many effects that could benefit from a 'mask limiter' instead of using the mask as opacity. The issue with many effects is if you want to tastefully limit them the mask data should drive the effect rather than cut/fade it away.   The most typical examples would be Mosaic or other blurs and lens flares. In DaVinci Resolve, if you add a mask input to certain effects the effect itself is limited rather than the result blended.   Here you can see that a mask with no feather, the coverege against the mosaic resolution dictates contribution. As effect it reaches outside of the mask and doesn't become a cut off circle.   Resolve: Premiere Pro:   It would be really nice to have a mechanism for this with a switch button on the mask to tell whether you'd want it to affect the opacity or the effect itself.

I’d love a keyboard shortcut that selects all clips in front (to the right) of the playhead. This would behave exactly like the 'Track Select Forward Tool' (default shortcut A), but without requiring a mouse click. My aim is to stay on the keyboard as much as possible and avoid constantly reaching for the mouse. I know there’s a workaround using 'Set In Point' followed by 'Select In to Out', but that only works on targeted tracks. That’s pretty annoying, since I’m usually working with specific track targeting. Having to toggle targeting for all tracks, then re-toggle them afterwards massively slows things down. (While we’re on the topic: it would also be amazing to have shortcuts to explicitly set track targeting On or Off, instead of only toggling. That would allow for preset targeting setups… but I won't go about that one again!  https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-ideas/track-target-presets/idi-p/15336664)  Being able to quickly s

It would be great to be able to rearrange styles in the Style Browser! The Style Browser is such a useful feature!I’ve created many styles to work more efficiently, but unfortunately, I can’t freely move the style icons around within the browser.I’d love to be able to organize them by simply dragging and dropping with the mouse — just like in many other apps! ！！

I am needing to sort bins of footage for a docuseries shot over about 2 years. The footage was shot on cinema cameras, the filenames of which are often something like "A00#C00#_yymmdd##". It'd be super helpful to have the option to sort the source clips by Creation Date. The date would probably be the date we made the proxies, but that least that would get us in the ballpark. (We did transcode in DaVinci, can the bin be sorted by Tape Name?)

Enable editors to save customized states of After Effects MOGRTs (including text, media replacements, and slider settings) as local presets. This would eliminate manual re-entry of recurring data (ex. like name keys or titles) and allows for user-defined "default state" for a MOGRT. This would greatly benefit MOGRT workflows and speed up editors graphic work in Premiere. I imagine it being  similar to saving effects presets in After Effects.

As a very long time user of Adobe Premiere, and as a working professional editor I am finding that Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder are crashing more than ever. I have a state of the art system. I am using the most professional workflow we have available. And yet, if I do not delibertly turn off automatic audio type tagging, automatic audio file transciption, AI media anlaysis, etc, Premiere pro crashes...constantly.  These features have the potential to be great, but they shouldn't be the default, not until they are far more stable.  Additonally, when trying to work with video created on modern phones, permiere pro and media encoder seem to have a very hard time. We shouldn't be having these issues at this stage with the technology we have. It is maddening as an editor to have to constantly spend my time solving these issues.  Thanks.

Hello,It would be valuable and more reliable, if the Export settings user selected File Name would be saved with the project, so that next time the file name would be the same by default, especially for replacing the previous file. Open the Export tab of a previously exported Project and see, if your previously typed in File Name has been stored in the input field and ready for another export. On Mac Sequioia / Latest Premiere Pro. Thanks!

Hi! Not quite a "wow" idea, but it would be a great quality of life update: let us zoom in and out in the keyframe area of the Effect Controls panel by using the Alt (or Option) + Scroll Wheel, just like we do on the timeline. It would be a lot easier and faster than grabbing the zoom bar's handle.  Thank you!

Hi Adobe Team,I am Himanshu Kumar, Student & Aspiring professional video editor, and I’ve been using Premiere Pro for years. However, the latest 2025 update has introduced some changes to the FX Badges that are severely slowing down my workflow. I would like to highlight two major issues:Selection & Click Area Conflict: In the new version, the "hit zone" for the FX badge is problematic. When I'm zoomed out on a complex timeline, clicking a clip (even 1-2 frames long) often triggers the FX badge instead of selecting/dragging the clip. I can’t delete, move, or enable/disable clips without zooming in significantly. This is frustrating and kills editing speed. In previous versions, the selection was seamless regardless of the zoom level.Removal of Functional Colors: Previously, FX badges had distinct colors (Yellow for Motion/Opacity, Purple/Green for external effects). This allowed me to scan a complex timeline in seconds. Now, everything is a dull, low-contras

Hi there,Would it at all be possible to add a toggle to disable the Program Monitor from automatically entering Trim Edit mode when multple edit points are selected (ie. by holding Ctrl and dragging across multiple edit points). Selecting edit points individually while holding control doesn't force this mode, it would be great if we could extend this as an option when you drag and select multiple. This mode isn't really useful in my workflow and often acts as nothing but a hinderance - it can be slow to swap back and forth in large timelines which I generally exclusively work in, and forces your play/stop toggle to turn into the "play around" functionality presumably to see changes to any trims - this however is just never really what I want in my workflow and is a little annoying if I've tried to exit the trim mode and it doesn't register for whatever reason. I'm generally selecting multiple edit points to simply add a default fade transition between multiple lavs then moving on,

Possibly already suggested but a feature like that seen in Mac OS Finder for all media/file directory windows. This would be particularly helpful when relinking media - being able to just start typing to quickly locate the folder or file in the list instead of scrolling back and forth until the correct folder is found.

In an Offfline workflow it's common to edit with low file size proxies of a diferent file type, then for finishing reconnect to the camera originals. Premiere is able to do this with one issue: In the Link Media window, when you seach for a file with "display exact name" checked, it will not find the file if the file extension is diferent. So... you have to navigate to the file yourself, select it, and premiere will reconnect to the file and it will also "relinik other automatically" however only those files in the same bin. This is the issue. If you have a lot of footage nested in bins per card which are also in bins per shoot day, you have to reconnect each bin individually. In contrast, if the file name and extension is the same, you can simply search the top level folder and premiere will find the file, then when it attempts to "relink other automatically", it will successfully relink all your media because it is looking from the root folder of all your footage. But

Problem: When using the pause filter and deleting silences, Premiere Pro deletes the WHOLE pause, leading to a very unnatural flow of speech between sentences. Fix: Include a "reduce to" duration feature that doesn't delete the whole pause, but leaves a specified length of pause (for example, reducing a 2-second pause to 0.5 seconds instead of the way it reduces it to 0.0 seconds now) The trim multiple clips feature to add frames back is a terrible workaround for two reasons: 1) if there are already cuts in the sequence, you can't isolate the deleted pauses.  2) There's no control to leave frames based on the amount of space deleted.   For example, if I find all pauses that are 5 seconds or more, I want to leave 1 second of pause.  Then, to find all pauses 2 seconds or more, i want to reduce those down to 0.5 seconds. I'm frustrated that with the number of complaints about the delete pauses feature leading to unnatural speach flow that this wasn't fix

I have used Adobe for over 12 years and its been great. I work with a team of editors and our needs have changed over time and we need a better solution then what adobe is currently offering. I would switch to some thing else if i could right now but can not. I am stuck with adobe for now so i am writing this hoping it will spark some kind of change. The Problem: Currently, the "round-trip" workflow between Premiere Pro and After Effects via Dynamic Link is becoming a significant bottleneck for modern creators. While Dynamic Link was revolutionary years ago, the requirement to manage separate project files, deal with "Media Offline" link breaks, and wait for background render engines to initialize is no longer competitive. In an era where "all-in-one" ecosystems are becoming the standard, the friction of switching between two heavy applications is a major pain point. The Solution: I am proposing a Unified Workflow. Instead of After Effects being a separate application that requires

Currently, opening two projects will allow sequences from both projects to be in the same timeline panel. This can cause confusion when editing and saving projects.   It would be nice if instead of a single instance of Premiere Pro being open, opening a second project would result in a completely independent launching of another instance of Premiere Pro., similar to opening two different programs. Each project would be managed as if it were the only project open.

Hi, I've been loving the ai masking feature! It's great how you can apply the mask tracking to the opacity effect channel. However, I'm wondering if it's possible to add the same feature, allowing you to add mask key frames to the motion effect channel? It would be a huge benefit for reformatting landscape videos to vertical without having to manually keyframe. I know there is an auto-reframe sequence option, but it rarely works when I have an object moving around the frame. So, I feel using the auto mask feature would give a much more accurate motion tracking option if possible.  Quick note, when I first tested the object mask tool, it actually did track the subject and keep them in frame. Although it only worked the first time I tried it, and hasn't worked since.  If there's an option or effect I'm overlooking, please do let me know! Thanks a million!

When i zoom in and out of the timeline or even scroll or move my timeline it tends to be choppe on every mouse movement and every scroll, it doesnt just frame by frame zoom in/out or smoothly moves let or right. its almost like its in 30fps instad of my screens refresh rate of 144hz. this has always been the case in premerire pro on windows, but not on mac, I know that windows uses every scroll whell movement as a click but cmon! we can do better! make sure it does it smoothly. also i am not talking about teh magnet attching thing where the chopped video connect tot eh other one im saying when you move anything its choppy and looks framd capped, but when you move the scroll bar at the bottom of the timeline or expand it, its smooth! we can so make a way to make this zoom when you only use the mouse to zoom in and out, drag files or videos, ect

Timewarp used to have motion blur and it actually worked well. Clean, natural blur that matched optical flow and didn’t need plugins. Now it’s gone and there’s no real replacement in Premiere. CC force motion blur is the closest thing to it but that means you need to create a dynamic link everytime you want to use it. Everything else is slower or looks worse. Not sure why it was removed. Would be good to have it back, even as an optional toggle.

Peak files are the biggest drain on my workflow. The process uses a chunk of Premiere's capacity, so I often have to import media into a project in the evening and let it generate all night - which sucks.I work with people who deliver me clips with 8 audio tracks, 5/6 of which are usually empty. Premiere seemingly still automatically scans every single track of audio on every single clip, when usually I either only need one track from one camera or no audio at all as it was recorded externally. (E.g. a two-camera interviews with 50fps overlay. One camera has audio input, the other is just generating audio tracks, and the 50fps footage doesn't record audio but empty tracks still appear to be scanned.) Of course you can turn off automatic peak file generation, but then there is a long-standing bug where you then can't even manually generate the peak files. All or none? Of course I choose all, as waveforms are crucial. I don't think it's too much to ask to have just a little bit

I have no intention of ever using this tool, can I suggest a way to remove it from the tool taskbar, it's just extra clutter.

Hi,I am writing to request native Turkish language support for Premiere Pro's "Speech to Text" and "Text-Based Editing" features.Turkey has one of the most active YouTube and social media markets in Europe. The lack of Turkish support for AI transcription (and specifically Filler Word Removal) is a major missing piece for us. We want to edit our videos using text, just like English users do.We kindly ask the engineering team to add Turkish to the supported languages list in the next update.Thank you.

When using nested or adjustment layers, Premium does not support scaling footage with a resolution higher than the timeline; the original image quality information will be lost. Could this be improved? I'd like to achieve lossless scaling like in Photoshop or After Effects.
