Transcript including custom words

Talk about subjects which may have made up words like names for creatures and then attempting to transcribe these words is frustrating as Premire doesn't know the words and will give a horrendous guess at what it thinks it heard.

Instead allow us to add words to premiere's vocabulary before transcribing so it knows what those words are when it hears them. Transcribing 1 hour of commentary only to then realise premiere had been continiously transcribing any non-dictionary word in to a terrible guess to the point it even transcribed swear words and slurs.

Allow us to input custom words to add to premiere's vocabulary before transcribing so it transcribes made up words for example name of a creature in a video game.

I've upvoted this. I've been working with the same project for several years nows and the auto-transcribe has never got better at identifying the names of the species or locations that are being used over and over in the dialogue. It may be a bridge to far to expect the AI auto-transcribe to learn from my manual corrections, but at least let us provide a dictionary in advance of the transcribe, as OP suggested. Browser-based transcription software like Trint can do this, so I'd have expect Adobe would be quick to follow... 😴

I'd also like this for corporate phrases and acronyms that our workplace use in our video marketing materials.

This would be super helpful for those of us working in niche topics with lots of acyronms topic specific terms.

I work in Government, and this would be amazingly helpful with the various amount of acronyms we use on a daily basis.

The ability to add brand words, people's names, etc. to the transcription dictionary would be very helpful. I make a lot of videos where I say my name and...it's annoying/humorous to see what guesses the automatic transcription is making today.

Yea this would be helpful for a podcast I help with that has fantasy and fictional terms, names, and locations and also incorporates snippets of Latin and other non-English items.

@Jakeyosaurus, and all,

There are several versions of this suggestion. This one has the highest votes as of today, 33, and, I think, is the best one to upvote. But there are multiple use case examples, and some will be more appealing to users than others. (Just look at the names embedded in the links.) The rest, links below, range from 2 to 5 as of today. None of them have a "status" and there are no staff responses.

I am always curious about the programming challenges in feature requests and setting priorities. Whether we think an idea is easy or challenging, it must compete for finite programming resources to become part of the plan.

The revised workflow for PR captions, introduced in 2021, has evolved rapidly, including the introduction of transcription and text-based editing. Currently, in the Beta, is active development of translating captions from one language to another. With this is the ability to keep multiple caption tracks on screen at once, and to style each track separately. Both of these will be popular.

I say all that to encourage your submitting feature requests and to upvote ones that you agree with. I know staff look carefully at all of these, but a lot of patience is required to see an idea become reality.

The main workaround is search and replace. And that can be painful. You can use regex searches to facilitate this. Still cumbersome at best.

I would also like to use tab to move to the next caption and have it be open and ready for editing, rather than having to double-click every time.

also commenting to help this gain traction. This is the current reason I'm not using Adobe right now. For my work I need a transcription service that I can teach a custom vocab to.
