The weirdest thing is happening right now -- I am working on a chapter, and at the bottom of the last page, which actually shouldn't be the last page, I cannot return past the bottom of the last page and I know there is content there.  A black line appears at the bottom of that last page in the document, and for some reason I can no longer see the rest of the images or text past this spot.A snip of this phenomenon:When I try to get down past this line, the cursor actually looks like it goes down into the footer, and it is bouncing around like it is going between content that I know exists there.Has anyone seen this?  What the heck is going on here?  I am at a full loss.Also, the page count of this document stays at 22 pages; if I return down below the line, no pages are added.

FrameMaker 2017 here, on Windows 10.My entire document displays correctly in Frame, and it displays correctly when saved to PDF format.  But a text inset displays incorrectly when I publish to HTML5.  I've tracked the culprit down to text and/or graphic objects placed on top of an image inserted by reference.To duplicate this, follow these steps:Place a paragraph or two of text at the top of an empty FM document.Insert by reference an image below the text.Click Graphics > Tools and use the Draw a Line or Place a Text Frame buttons to place a graphic object on top of the image.Save the FM document.Insert that FM document as a text inset into a different FM document.Publish the parent FM document to HTML5.When I do this, the image I inserted in step 2 is replaced by an image of the text that was above it.  Not only this, but the font size and margins are smaller/narrower in the image.  If the image I inserted is taller than the paragraph of text, then the bottom ha

We've recently been asked to upgrade our PDF output to comply with a variety of accessibility standards and requirements. We're new to it all, but our limited understanding of the requirements for "logical structure" leads us to believe that we must output PDFs with tagging that indicates heading levels and the like, rather than just the paragraph tag names that we use. I've been testing out our PDF generation process, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the PDF tags for paragraph-level styles to output correctly from an unstructured document. I'm also not clear on how to properly use the <Art>, <Sect>, etc. tags. In the example below, you can see that <p> tags are used universally for all paragraph tags, with <span> tags that hold the paragraph tag name. Even when I have an actual paragraph tag called "H1" they're tagged like this. However, they do nest properly (e.g., titles, numbered headings, and subheadings). Is there a way, when working in an unstructured book, to enable Track Text Edits for only 1 chapter?I have a book with 18 chapters. I'm making changes in only 1 of those chapters but, when I enable Track Text Edits, it enables Track Text Edits for every chapter.

I have a FM document with CGM files for the graphics. When I export or save the file as a PDF, the resulting images in the PDF have very jagged edges on the curved lines and end points. I have tried every obvious PDF setting in FM11, but nothing seems to improve the quality of the vector lines in the exported PDF. I tested the export settings from the graphics software (IsoDraw) and was able to export smooth lines from that program. FrameMaker 11.0.0.380Windows 7 SP1 (corporate controlled computer)

I have a user on a fresh install of Windows 10 x64 build 1903, who is using FrameMaker 2017 Version 14.0.4.511 and is experiencing random crashes. The crashes just close out of FrameMaker with no error or anything.He has had it happen once while just opening a file, once saving a different file, another just moving the mouse around on the FrameMaker file, and a couple others he can't recall what he was doing at the time. They aren't frequent, maybe once a week, and I can't see anything related between them.Not sure where to go to for troubleshooting this? Any guidance? Thanks!

Hi,I am facing an issue in FrameMaker. Actually, I have an automation flow in which I am opening a book file and reading all the markers from it using frameScript.Everything is working fine but sometimes I faced an error in FrameMaker about the reconfiguration of printer please find the screenshot.Error: Can't find a compatible default printer. Try reconfiguring your printer setup in the control panel.I don't understand why FrameMaker is concerned about the printer. And when this error comes I have to manually close everything and re-start the Automation flow. This error is very unexpected sometimes it comes and sometimes not. We don't understand why it is coming.

I am trying to use the DITA specific Troubleshooting topic. I have created  number of troubleshooting topics using the template. I have then added these to my ditamap. Upon publishing, the headings do not follow the prescribed structure of other topics. The headings within the topic do not cascade down, but remain H1 level. AC Input Back Feed Failure should be 11.1, Cause should be 11.1.1, Remedy 11.1.2.I understand if I need to customize this myself - but not sure were to go about doing this. Is this controlled by the EDD for this topic type, or is it controlled by the template?

We are using FrameMaker 2019 and are looking to publish our next document. While the publishing is faster and somewhat easier, I'm getting unwanted Dita labels in my output, mainly the Context and Result labels that are associated with Dita tasks. I understand I may need to remove these from my FM template files - is this correct? Can I turn off just Context or Result, or both? And how would I go about removing these labels? Many thanks!

My Framemaker 2015/2017 crashed again last week, and I cannot open any file with the domain user, but the fm file can be opened by the local admin user account.The crash occurs frequently when my operation is related to copy and paste graphics into a fm file.Any solution?

I want to add multiple lines of text (each ending with \n) to the first paragraph in a document and then add a table after that. Hey friends. I'm working on a monster (2000 page) document which has any number of idiosyncrasies, but the newest is a new auto file is generated EVERY time I save. So every time I saved "Chapter 04.fm" I got a popup saying the file had been changed since it last opened (duh, since I was saving it). When I finally closed for the days, I had about 200 auto files that looked like this:Chapter 04.auto.fm.auto.4AF.CB5It didn't have the brown and orange FM icon next to it but I archived the Chapter 4.fm (from 7:15 this morning), deleted the rest of them, and renamed the above to Chapter 04.fm. It appears to be fine and opens without issue but come on! ANOTHER auto file is created.What is going on here? Any idea?

Hi there, i am unable to embed an .mp4 video file into a structured Framemaker document.For some reason FM ignores the files completely, even though the import has been done viaimport file - once as copied into document - once with link to sourcethen set poster image save then save as .pdfthen publish as Responsive HTML 5Once I managed to create a .pdf file where at least one video worked, but not the other one, but with publishing it was hopeless...
