I have not been using FrameMaker a ton over the past several years.As a result, I forgot the shortcut to refresh the FrameMaker display. (It's ctrl + L.)Anyway, why does FrameMaker 2019 need to be refreshed to display images correctly? My laptop is a Core i7, 16 GB RAM, and has a Quadro discrete graphics card.That said, images load 3647.39% faster in FM 2019 on this laptop than they do in FrameMaker 12, so some good headway has been made. FM2019 Update 2 is (finally!) available for manual download, and I've updated my installation, having previously downloaded and installed Update 1. Now that we have the files, I have to advise my colleagues on updating, and I have a question: Is it necessary to install both updates separately/sequentially, or is it sufficient to just install Update 2 (IOW, does Update 2 include all the Update 1 changes)?

Hi guys,I hope you can help me with this, I have trouble when saving my documents. I have the new FrameMaker 19 Version (structured) and everything is working well for me. But when my colleague saves a document the location of the schema is written in a place where it shouldn't and the whole document is destroyed. My group -- me and four colleagues who edit/publish technical proposals and reports -- has recently upgraded from FM10 to FM2019 (as part of TCS2019), and we're noticing some "new" things... but, of course, we don't know how new they really are, since our upgrade was such a huge step change. Two things in particular are causing (admittedly minor) headaches, and we'd love to have solutions/workarounds:Importing multiple PDF pages as graphics: The cost proposals we publish require that we import into page frames multiple pages of cost and price data reports, which come to us as PDF outputs from our pricing system. In our FM10-based workflow, after importing the first page, subsequent iterations of File>Import>File would select the previous file by default, so that we only had to specify the page number in the dialog and click Okay; now, while subsequent calls go to the correct folder, the file itself is no longer selected by default, meaning that each page requires a couple extra m

HelloSince about a month ago I can't use my pdf-printer/editor anymore. I have been in contact with Adobe's support a few times about it but they can't help me.I'm not sure which product it is, I've had it for years and never had any problems. I think it might be the Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, as part of Adobe Technical Communications Suite 4. I also have the Technical Communications Suite 17 and a few updates of FrameMaker since then.Is there any way I can get my pdf-editor back working again, or do I have to buy a new application?Hoping for help!/Erika

Good morning,I'm using Adobe FrameMaker 12 (version 12.0.4.445), and Microsoft Word for Office 365 MSO (16.0.10827.20118) 32-bit.I regularly receive requests to pull all of the content from an existing Word document into FrameMaker. Often, these existing Word documents consist mainly of tables (hundreds of pages of tables). What would you all recommend as the most robust way to pull these tables into FrameMaker? The table rows have irregular shading patterns, and the table text is irregularly indented.All the best,Cameo

Hello!I've got a problem with FM which bothers me since years.Maybe someone got a solution for that?I need a "hanging indent" - but on the right side.For example when i have a TOC in which some entrys are too long for one line i actually have to enter manualy linebreaks to have a right indent.Is there a way to have this done by FrameMaker?I appreciate every recommendationRegardsThomas

When FrameMaker 2017 is in structured mode it takes about 2 minutes to startup. There is a grey screen with the built-in hourglass pointer. In non-structured mode, the loading time is around 10-15 seconds (FrameMaker 2015 did not do this). Has anybody experienced this? How would I go about troubleshooting it?

I just got FrameMaker 2019. I'm moving there from FM 12. I use primarily unstructured content, and have been using FM on and off for a lot of years. My initial thoughts are these.The installation is one of Adobe's best for FrameMaker. The software came as a single Zip file, that I downloaded. Running Set-up.exe in the Zip prompts you to unpack everything, which I did. And then, nothing. Nothing. So, I ran Set-up.exe again, and still nothing. The issue was, the second time, I selected the same Set-up.exe file I selected the first time: the one in the Zip. However, when I unpacked the lot, a second folder was created outside the Zip. When I selected that Set-up.exe, the installation began. Yay! Although the installation itself estimated "2-4 minutes remaining," the installation took closer to 25 minutes on my 4-year-old Windows 8.1 Lenovo laptop; I can't blame all of that slowness on Adobe. And, after the installation, I was not prompted to reboot, which made me happy.The first thing I d

Hi, I'm working with TCS 5 and want to find out if TCS 8 is a nice-to-have or must-have.How do I have to install TCS 8 to be able to test the new features so that the existing TCS 5 remains unchanged.Is it only a check box within the installation wizard or should I test the new version on another PC?

A contractor sent me FM file created in FrameMaker 2017. I have FrameMaker 2015. I cannot open these files. We no longer work with this contractor, so I cannot ask him to save the files in an older version or as MIF.

Hello,I'm creating a cover for a user guide and I'd like the image to cover the entire page. Currently,  when I print the pdf, I have about 1 cm of white space around the entire image. I tried manually resizing the image in Frame. I also, tried to configure bleed settings in File > Publish. On the Marks and Bleeds tab, I tried changing the bleed to 2p0 all around, but I'm not familiar with these settings. Please let me know if my description is clear enough.Thanks!

<knit picking on>When drawing with FM tools a line or other open object can get arrow tips. Their style can be selected. My favorite looks like thisSince long I have notices that the real image of an arrow does not correspond to the properties of the object. Dear friends,Next step after lines and polylines: I want to draw arcs (with a constant radius) and encounter a similar problem as with the lines in the different quadrants.The blue lines are what I want to achieve. The outer three are correct, their starting angle is ≥ 0. The inner ones have starting angles -90, -60 and -30 degrees, which converted to 270, 300 and 330 respectively - because negative values are not allowed (they are interpreted as 0).I do not see how to force the Arc object to draw what I want. I am trying to build a document that uses conditions. The person who set this up is now gone. I have tags that are named Show X100, Hide X100, Show UNIS, Hide UNIS. Why they would be named this way makes no sense since they are moved back and forth from the SHOW HIDE Condition in the POD. How do I identify exactly what condition is doing what?

I am using unstructured Frame version 13.0.2.433 and documents with text insets of other full documents so that I can use the same document multiple times in the same book. When I PDF the manual, a blank page shows up at the end of each document with a text inset. I don't want to have to delete these blank pages every time I PDF a book.

I have FM 2017 and cannot see the equations pod listed anywhere. Do I have to install it, or is it turned off now?
