FrameMaker

I have a set of Auto Numbered paragraphs in a document. They look like this:I want each of these paragraphs to be repeated exactly as they are in this section into another section of my book. The "Article" Auto Number is set up as: A:Article <R+>:\snThe next level "BodyAlpha1" Auto Number is set as: B:\t<A=1>.\tI was able to get the "Article III: Judging of Contests" paragraph to repeat perfectly with the cross reference built like this:<Default ¶ Font><$paranum[ArticleHead1]><$paratext><Default ¶ Font>However when I try to get the next level to show up, I seem to lose the \t "tabs that are in the Auto Number of the second level. The text comes through perfectly but I can get it to bring along the complete Auto Number from the original Auto Number. I have a Mac and use the Creative Suite software on it. Yet, when I went to go find FrameMaker, I have found it is ONLY available for the PC. Why?So I go look for a solution and find that FrameMaker 7 is the last version available for the Mac. Ok, I still have my G4 as well. So I figured I will look to get a copy of v7 then. Nope, can't find it on the Adobe site. Not only that, but it's a pain in the "blank" to find a viable copy to puchase other than on amazon for $4K. If Adobe is going to stop making a version of their software then I can understand the cut. But to stop making it for one system and not the other? At the very least, you could continue to keep support for, and make available (at a reduced price hopefully), your older version for the Mac (or PC if you cancel a PC version of something), so that users can still use the software if they have the system to use it.A huge amout of Mac people use your software. Just received Windows 10 computer and installed Framemaker 2015, Files show numbers everywhere a text symbol should appear.  Any idea how to resolve? (PS This also happened in FrameMaker 11)

Dear friends,Since a while - propably an FM update - the selected workspace (DDD) is lost after closing ESTK CC (4.0.0.1, ES 4.5.5, ScriptUI 6.2.2).At the next open of ESTK the selected workspace is briefly visible, but falls back into the Empty workspace, although in the dow-down-list it is selected. I need to reselect it.I have checked the preferences - but can not find an appropriate setting.Klaus

Dear friends and expertsIn my script I have defined  Notification (Constants.FA_Note_PostOpenDoc, true);  And in the Notify function I normally get these parameters (logged):Notify: iNote= 2    sParam= D:\_INFOBASE\general.fm    iParam= 0    object.Name=  D:\_INFOBASE\general.fm    object.ID=  67108877(I use the object ID to check whether the document has really changed - which is not true in all cases).But in rare cases I get iParam = 3, in which case the script runs havoc later on:The document gets white and I can not see where I am (actions in the document are not possible, hence CTRL+L to make it visible is impossible).The open palette still behaves in this current document (e.g. I can walk through the existing variables in the document) I do not get any error messages in the log, ESTK is not opened to show me an error.Closing the document via the X button is possible, but requires a second click after

In my conversion table I need to pick up font that is marked as bold and assign it to a structure element.Regular conversion table columns are: Wrap this object or objects | In this element | With this qualifierSo tried this - no luck: C:bold | emphasis[emph=”bold”] |Additionally, I need to pick that bold font from a specific element only. If I click on the Save icon, it doesn't save. It only saves if I exit the document and asks if I want to save.

Hello, I have used change bars in FrameMaker so that reviewers can more easily find the changes made to a document. Sometimes the changes are rendered in the PDF, but sometimes not. I have a 400 page document that has around 2 tables per page.On the majority of these tables there is a footnote to explain what xxxxx means.Someone has changed the text fromxxxxx = The blah blah toxxxxx=The blah blahwithout the spaces.I want to get the spaces back - but if I do Find and Change it replaces the text where the footnote reference is on the table, and not the text in the actual footnote.Any ideas if there is any way to get around this.TIA

Using FrameMaker 2017 Structured Application S1000D_description_401 HOW do you enter the fm.title so that it is "Figure 1 (Sheet 1 of 10"?

I opened my documents and got a warning message, "Document named Chapter 2.fm uses unavailable fonts.  To reformat the document using available fonts, click ok." This same document now produces a .pdf file with white boxes instead of equals signs in my equations.  It also changes a few other symbols to white boxes.  I am not sure if these two things are linked but I would like help getting rid of the white boxes and getting my equations back to normal. 

It's horrible, the download never ends!it pauses alone, it resumes from scratch it never ends!Is there another way to download FrameMaker than the Akamai Downloader channel?

I have little skill  with VBA and javascript but not professionnal  .with my new job i receive every month documentantion from manufacturer and we custumize them.So each month we copy the manufacturer file with new template and import them in our books.but before importing i have to swap the manufacturer logo of the book by my compagny logo and some more minor modifications.as this task is repetitive i think i could do it with extendscripti send a zip file on adobe cloud with  a sample framemaker book i made and the script i wrote during the last 2 weeks with tips i found on internet.the script open all files in a folder  and that all. i didin't find anything about how to change logo on the reference pageFOR THE MAIN PROBLEM i need your help to swap the logo. i put in the zip file à new sample logo for the test.if you have 5 minutes more but not necessary if your time is precious you can answer to the 3 minor

Hello fellows,I've imported an SLZ file through the FM Publisher HTML5 Settings dialog and I set the following to False:Show IndexShow GlossaryShow FilterShow Search Results in...When I compile the HTML5, the layout still includes all these elements. I can't figure out why the layout settings are ignored by the publisher. Any ideas? I did the same in Robohelp, and the settings are treated as expected. I guess there is some nasty bug in the publisher. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been using structured (DITA1.2) FM11 w RH10 about five years with no issues until mid Dec where it crashed for one of 3 versions. The largest ditamap crashed, FM runs out of memory or generates No Topics. Nearly 900 Topics. All elements are valid. I took the entire ditamap and published each section at a time hoping to find the breaking point but each section publishes successfully. When I comment out one section, section X, the entire help except for section X generates. When I comment out everything except for section X, section X generates  help. Have I reached a file size limit? Are my settings off, could I have clicked a controlor flipped a flag somewhere?I had TCS2017 on the shelf, and I upgraded and it will generate the help in section but not the entire file. Adobe Support suspects a file in the ditamap is corrupt but that can’t be the case because all of the files work when I publish the files in smaller sections. I am applying a new template to an already established template that has a catalog of paragraph tags. Is there a way to map the existing tags to the new paragraph tags in the new template after I've applied it to the document?

Hi all,I suppose something in the read/write rules has changed, but before digging into the issue I thought I'd ask the forum.We have migrated from FM2015 to 2017 and now images in paragraphs display very small. As you can see in the screenshot, this image is about 50pt wide but the size properties are ignored. Manual resizing is lost when the file is saved. Any ideas?
