I am trying to vertically align multiple lines of text in numbered lists in the html file (publishing to Responsive HTML5). The alignment looks good for numbered lists beginning with 1-9, but the alignment is off for numbered lists that begin with double digits, 10 and above. In this image, you can see that the vertical alignment looks good for the single digit. The "C" and the "n" line up well.However for the double-digit, the continued lines outdent a bit:When I adjust the text-indent for the numbered list class to try to fix the alignment for the double digit text, it messes up the alignment for the single digit text.Has anyone encountered this?

Hi, allI am following the Adobe's "DEVELOPING STRUCTURED APPLICATIONS WITH ADOBE® FRAMEMAKER® " to build up my first EDD.I think I exactly followed the step-by-step instruction for Create an EDD (from page 27) , however I do not get my EDD perfectly the same as that are shown on the instruction.1. about the section definition:My structure is as following:However, when I apply this EDD to my file, I cannot get the intended nested section numbering, <n>.<n+1>; instead the nested section continues the numbering from its parent section:2. Though I have added the "section" tag in the EDD, my file will not display it in the "Cross-reference" pod.My cross-reference pod, which has the section element missing in the "Element Tags" column:And what the cross-reference pod in the "DEVELOPING STRUCTURED APPLICATIONS WITH ADOBE® FRAMEMAKER® " looks like, on page  46 of that document:Please, if any body know where I possibly made it wrong?Thanks very much. I have a subscription to framemaker (currently using 2015). On and off since the subscription started (in May 2014) I (and members of my team) have had problems opening Frame and Acrobat Pro (I am prompted to reinstall Frame with a valid serial number). Often I have to reboot my system since Adobe subscriptions don't have serial numbers. Earlier this year I chatted with Adobe and they said I need to install Creative Cloud and sign in. That worked for a while but Creative cloud is gone from my system (mysteriously, I didn't remove it) and there is only a pay version available and the problem is back. What is going on?

Hi,we are working with FM11 on a teplate refreshing.now there are existing dokuments with a exiting template, this template has many exiting elements on the referece page.in the new templates referece page this elements were deleted, and others added.taking now a exiting dokument and importing the new template, will add the new elements but unfortunatly not deleting the unwanted elements.is there a function, skript or comand to get ride of exiting unwanted elemens?or how is ths to solve?best regardsbeat

I use a lot of text insets - insert them into a single file and then getting them to xrefs takes several attempts and then ends up creating multiple xrefs which I would like to remove from the doc. Other than saving as a MIF and cleaning the duplicate tags out, what other options are available?

Hi,we have in a document a table witout lines. we use a atribut cold "ohneLineatur" in the edd & RW-ruls and a table format whitout lines in the template.when exporting in to xml, the atribut "ohneLineatur" is there.importing it back into framemaker, the table has lines.where are they coming from?thanks for any hint.best regardsbeat

Hello Everyone.I am Mechanical Customization Engineer. Currently i am developing automation tools for Mechanical designing software's using VB.NET. Now i have a requirement on FRAME MAKER for one of our client. The thing is i have a PDF (or MS Word) file which contains Pictures, Notes & Tables. I need to export just tables to Frame Maker and change the table styles that is the scope of the project. Please see the below image from this i need to copy just the tablesand paste in Frame Maker.I am good in VB.NET(VB Scripting) so is it possible to do this process using VB. If not how best i can do this. When i went through the forum i saw that an FDK has to be downloaded. Can anybody please guide me on where should i start. Hello,I am trying to break my unstructured book file up into html5, and would like to have nested headers, help file stylei.e., Chapter Title     Heading 2     Heading 2          Heading 3I read some postings from previous versions that say you have to adjust paragraph styles in the source file. This seems like an odd way of going about it. As this is a mutlchannel book (it's published in print form as well), I'd rather not go messing with the template or creating conditional text across all 1,000 plus pages. Is there a anything in the publish settings that can do this?Thanks.

Why would the Table-Format menu option be missing from FrameMaker 2015

Hi Folks,Our doc group is considering whether to use structured Framemaker (Framemaker 2017) to create both PDF and HTML5 output. One of the requirements is to be able to generate HTML5 output as part of interim builds of our product software. This will ensure that each build contains the latest help, which will allow our QA team to review help changes periodically rather than having to wait until the product is almost ready for release. A Google search suggests that our build and release team might be able to generate the HTML5 output using the Dita Open Toolkit. According to the Dita Open Toolkit documentation:"The html5 transformation generates HTML5 output and a table of contents (TOC) file.The HTML5 output is always associated with the default DITA-OT CSS file (commonltr.css or commonrtl.css for right-to-left languages). Hi GuysMaybe someone can assist. I have to create an illustrated parts catalogue in framemaker. Its is quite big with more than 5 000 parts and 200 illustrations.Is there any way to create such a document by inporting an Excel spreadsheet?

I am using structured framemaker 2017.If I have an element highlighted and go to use some of the element shortcuts (CTRL-2) for example, pressing the CTRL key causes FM to display an element dialog box. This box is annoying enough that I was thinking perhaps it is a bug. How can I disable this dialog from appearing each time I select an element and press CTRL?

Upgraded to FM 2017 14.02.425 yesterday;  “Save as PDF..” and “Save as Review PDF…” from .xml DITA files or Frame files, FM hangs. (Not Responding) message is in the title bar.This is happening on files that we could successfully generate PDFs from before the upgrade. Happening on two different PCs with the same version of FM with numerous files.We deleted the Preferences file in App Data Roaming as well, still no luck.

Anyone seeing EPUB files with content out of chronological order?Also, the TOC is only showing 10% of topics.Since this is the 3rd edition of this EPUB (My Fm reference book!!!!) Framemaker is constantly crashing when I try to edit settings for responsive html5, or when trying to publish.  I get a critical error and have to close the program.  Is there something that I should be looking for in my document it seems to hold happen to certain chapter of the book I am working with and sometimes it happens when I just open up Framemaker.

I recently had to reinstall FrameMaker 11 on a new computer. Now, when I reach the bottom of a document, new pages are not automatically added. What am I doing wrong? Can find anything in Help topics on this.Also, the user manual has disappeared from the Help menu. What happened to it?

FM 11. New additional pages are not appearing as I add content to this existing document. [Adobe Help] states additional pages Automatically appear as content is typed in. Not happening, Based on [Adobe On-Line Help], tried "connecting text frames" and adding disconnected pages, and other efforts. The "adding new disconnected pages" did appear, howerver content remained hidden at bottom of page 18 vs. now appearing on new pages 19-22. Also some FM formating did not transfer over to new pages 19-22. Existing [Help] topics do not seem to solve. Could be, just not understand the correct solution. Is there a basic/simple (setting change?) solution in FM 11? I have not altered the master pages, catalogs, etc. (Learning FM). Any assistance is appreciated.

I've been fighting with this for several days and just cannot get the results I need. The situation: I work in technical/how-to documentation. Several older documents use a font-face to represent mouse and keyboard actions. Since it's a font, it's not accessible. In an effort to make accessible documentation, we are trying to convert the font characters to text variables. The text variables exist in the document, so it's simply a matter of finding the characters to be replaced and replacing them with the appropriate variable. Some of our documents are over 100 pages, so replacing the characters manually would be frustrating. Current State of Solution: I have created a script that looks through a document, then inserts the text value of the variable in the text, but for some reason, I can't figure out how to make it insert the variable object itself. I've taken scripts from around these forums and modified them to work in my situation, so here are the functions that I'm working with:Fin

I had FrameMaker 12.0.2 and updated to 12.0.4 to fix the problem with SharePoint 2013. The fix was actually in 12.0.3, so I assumed 12.0.4 would include that. But I have the same problem as with 12.0.2 - once I check out a book I can't check it in...it appears locked and check in is grayed out.So I tried downloading and installing 12.0.3 but that failed.Help!

In FM 15, the path to the file was listed below the ditamap display when a file was selected. I don't have that with FM 17. How do I get it back?
