Hi,we have in a document a table witout lines. we use a atribut cold "ohneLineatur" in the edd & RW-ruls and a table format whitout lines in the template.when exporting in to xml, the atribut "ohneLineatur" is there.importing it back into framemaker, the table has lines.where are they coming from?thanks for any hint.best regardsbeat

Hello Everyone.I am Mechanical Customization Engineer. Currently i am developing automation tools for Mechanical designing software's using VB.NET. Now i have a requirement on FRAME MAKER for one of our client. The thing is i have a PDF (or MS Word) file which contains Pictures, Notes & Tables. I need to export just tables to Frame Maker and change the table styles that is the scope of the project. Please see the below image from this i need to copy just the tablesand paste in Frame Maker.I am good in VB.NET(VB Scripting) so is it possible to do this process using VB. If not how best i can do this. When i went through the forum i saw that an FDK has to be downloaded. Can anybody please guide me on where should i start. I went through lot of discussions with in the forum but i am confused with the starting steps. With RegardsAghil.M

Hello,I am trying to break my unstructured book file up into html5, and would like to have nested headers, help file stylei.e., Chapter Title     Heading 2     Heading 2          Heading 3I read some postings from previous versions that say you have to adjust paragraph styles in the source file. This seems like an odd way of going about it. As this is a mutlchannel book (it's published in print form as well), I'd rather not go messing with the template or creating conditional text across all 1,000 plus pages. Is there a anything in the publish settings that can do this?Thanks.

Why would the Table-Format menu option be missing from FrameMaker 2015

Hi Folks,Our doc group is considering whether to use structured Framemaker (Framemaker 2017) to create both PDF and HTML5 output. One of the requirements is to be able to generate HTML5 output as part of interim builds of our product software. This will ensure that each build contains the latest help, which will allow our QA team to review help changes periodically rather than having to wait until the product is almost ready for release. A Google search suggests that our build and release team might be able to generate the HTML5 output using the Dita Open Toolkit. According to the Dita Open Toolkit documentation:"The html5 transformation generates HTML5 output and a table of contents (TOC) file.The HTML5 output is always associated with the default DITA-OT CSS file (commonltr.css or commonrtl.css for right-to-left languages). Hi GuysMaybe someone can assist. I have to create an illustrated parts catalogue in framemaker. Its is quite big with more than 5 000 parts and 200 illustrations.Is there any way to create such a document by inporting an Excel spreadsheet?

I am using structured framemaker 2017.If I have an element highlighted and go to use some of the element shortcuts (CTRL-2) for example, pressing the CTRL key causes FM to display an element dialog box. This box is annoying enough that I was thinking perhaps it is a bug. How can I disable this dialog from appearing each time I select an element and press CTRL?

Upgraded to FM 2017 14.02.425 yesterday;  “Save as PDF..” and “Save as Review PDF…” from .xml DITA files or Frame files, FM hangs. (Not Responding) message is in the title bar.This is happening on files that we could successfully generate PDFs from before the upgrade. Happening on two different PCs with the same version of FM with numerous files.We deleted the Preferences file in App Data Roaming as well, still no luck.

Anyone seeing EPUB files with content out of chronological order?Also, the TOC is only showing 10% of topics.Since this is the 3rd edition of this EPUB (My Fm reference book!!!!) I'm tempted to blame this one on Fm 2017 processing.There's a free copy of the FrameMaker - Working with Content EPUB ($25 value) to the first person to solve either of these issues!-Matt

Framemaker is constantly crashing when I try to edit settings for responsive html5, or when trying to publish.  I get a critical error and have to close the program.  Is there something that I should be looking for in my document it seems to hold happen to certain chapter of the book I am working with and sometimes it happens when I just open up Framemaker.

Help! I need to get to 12.0.3 to be able to use SharePoint 2013 with FrameMaker 12, but here's what I'm getting:The error log has this:Adobe FrameMaker 12.0.3 UpdateInstallation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7Support options aren't apparent. What's the next step here?

I recently had to reinstall FrameMaker 11 on a new computer. Now, when I reach the bottom of a document, new pages are not automatically added. What am I doing wrong? Can find anything in Help topics on this.Also, the user manual has disappeared from the Help menu. What happened to it?

FM 11. New additional pages are not appearing as I add content to this existing document. [Adobe Help] states additional pages Automatically appear as content is typed in. Not happening, Based on [Adobe On-Line Help], tried "connecting text frames" and adding disconnected pages, and other efforts. The "adding new disconnected pages" did appear, howerver content remained hidden at bottom of page 18 vs. now appearing on new pages 19-22. Also some FM formating did not transfer over to new pages 19-22. Existing [Help] topics do not seem to solve. Could be, just not understand the correct solution. Is there a basic/simple (setting change?) solution in FM 11? I have not altered the master pages, catalogs, etc. (Learning FM). Any assistance is appreciated.

I've been fighting with this for several days and just cannot get the results I need. The situation: I work in technical/how-to documentation. Several older documents use a font-face to represent mouse and keyboard actions. Since it's a font, it's not accessible. In an effort to make accessible documentation, we are trying to convert the font characters to text variables. The text variables exist in the document, so it's simply a matter of finding the characters to be replaced and replacing them with the appropriate variable. Some of our documents are over 100 pages, so replacing the characters manually would be frustrating. Current State of Solution: I have created a script that looks through a document, then inserts the text value of the variable in the text, but for some reason, I can't figure out how to make it insert the variable object itself. I've taken scripts from around these forums and modified them to work in my situation, so here are the functions that I'm working with:Fin

I had FrameMaker 12.0.2 and updated to 12.0.4 to fix the problem with SharePoint 2013. The fix was actually in 12.0.3, so I assumed 12.0.4 would include that. But I have the same problem as with 12.0.2 - once I check out a book I can't check it in...it appears locked and check in is grayed out.So I tried downloading and installing 12.0.3 but that failed.Help!

In FM 15, the path to the file was listed below the ditamap display when a file was selected. I don't have that with FM 17. How do I get it back?

Hello,When I create a TOC file and import the table of contents in the opening chapter, the chapter numbers start on 4. I can't figure out whats happening...TOC FILETable of Contents (Opening Chapter)

I have a structured FM book containing index markers. The index generates fine, but the hyperlinks do not work. The customer tells me it all worked fine in FM9 but no longer after moving over to FM2015. I tried wrapping the index markers in an indexmarker element but that did not make any difference. Trying the Ctrl+Alt-click in the generated index just brings up an alert that the object specified in the hypertext command cannot be found. Is this a reference page issue?Thanks for any help. Framemaker is setting the CSS styling of equations in my documents in a way that causes them to be displayed wrong.  I have equations in my document and when I create the HTML5 output many equations display over other elements.  I have looked into this and found that they elements are being given a negative margin.  Once this margin is removed they display correctly.  Is there anything that I can do about this in Framemaker?
