I can't enter the Latin small n with long right hand leg (U+019E) ŋ in FM 9. The only response is a question mark. Help please? Thanks, Sandy

Using FrameMaker 11, when I create a .pdf file, the bookmarks are out of sequence.  Is there a way to confirm the sequence of bookmarks while still in FrameMaker, or is the only way to shuffle them around in Acrobat?

New to Framemaker and trying to teach myself.  Using FM10.I am working on designing my master pages.  I started with one of the sample templates and have figured out how to get images on there and alter some of the existing variables (e.g. font size for page numbers).  But I can't figure out how to adjust the "Chapter 1" variable.  I'd like to change it possibly to 'module' or just put a gigantic '1'.  I can't seem to select it, delete it or anything.  What am I missing?

I need equations to look crisp when I output to a Responsive HTML format. My equations look blurry from an initial import of a Word document. Then, I tried using MathFlow Structure Editor to paste in equations from a Word Document I created. How do I fix the resolution of my equations?

Hi,when I set a value for the outputclass attribute of topic elements, then FM does not preserve it when the topic is saved as an XML file. Do I need to adjust the r/w rule, what would need to be added?What I want to get is simply<topic id = "id123" outputclass = "abc">I have already tried adding lines such aselement "topic" {attribute "outputclass" is fm attribute "outputclass";}But evidently it is not that simple.Robert

I've been using a number of PNG files for some time with no issues and everything has been smooth. Now going back to these files, pages the previously opened very fast now take a very long time (a number of minutes, not seconds) to render the graphic. This also has slowed PDF creation of those pages to a crawl as well. I'm using Framemaker 10 on Windows 7. Has anyone else had this issue or discovered a fix to this problem?

I am working on a book and I need to be able to link to other pages and in some cases different sections of a document within the book. Every time I convert the book into HTML5 the formatting goes away and the links don't work. I have no idea how to fix this. Please help! Thanks!

Dear experts,My project steps further - but as soon as I have to deal with FM-objects I still struggle. The script should do this:In the document (http://www.daube.ch/zz_tests/Markers-and-variables.fm) there are markers of type #calc (which are all found and stored into an array.Some of them are immediately followed by a variable (called temporary variable, because the names are built by date/time).Before I insert the new variable, the old one should be found and removed.The problem is that I do not find the old variable and hence can not remove it, before the new one is inserted. Framemaker 13. The default folder name is <mybookname>-Responsive HTML5. I want to control this. I don't see anything in the settings file.tia.

Hello all,I've recently stepped into a role where I will be doing the customer facing and technical documentation for our company.  I am by trade a Business Analyst and have up to this point always used Word and other MS Office tools to create documentation.  I have so far only had to modify existing FM documents and it has not bee too difficult.I would doubt there will be any training $ in the budget, so I am left to use resources such and this forum in order to learn.  This no doubt, will be challenging at times.Questions like:"Structured" vs. "unstructured"?Anything required when working on documents created using previous versions (I've v 12 and many if not all of our legacy documents were created in 9 or 10).More to come I'm sure.Many thanks in advance.

Hi Gang,I'm relatively new to the world of FrameMaker - so please forgive me if this is a silly question...  but I am trying to figure out a way to insert a table that has a mix of paragraph alignment within the rows and columns.The paragraph alignment for most of the tables in my document are simple and are handled by one of three attributes: alignTableHeader, alignTableBody and alignTableFooter. I've got some kind of setting applied that is moving the start position way to the right?  How can I fix this as it is showing up on all of the 'right' master pages?

We are having issues when exporting FM (2015) files to MIF in that when the MIF is viewed in Notepad the content is displayed out of order with how it appears in the FM file (i.e. text that appears towards the end of the document in the FM file appears at the beginning of the MIF). How does a MIF determine where within the file content is displayed (i.e. by style, time of insertion, etc)?

Hi,Can someone explain why this is happening - after I create a Note with numbers under a numbered step (see image below), the next numbered step follows the last number in the Note section. Instead of being Step number 2, its going to Step number 4, following the numbers in the Notes and not the Numbered1+.Help!

When FM notifies that a font is unavailable, is there a way to find out what font it is that is unavailable? So I might get the font, and make it available?

Anyone know of any templates for manuals or software design docs.  Basically I need something that can be used to give to software developers to populate.  This doc can be used to write user manuals and other customer facing documents.

I have structured documents that have a body style text left justified and to the right of that an anchored frame with photo and callouts.When I publish as HTML5 the images appear like steps going up! How can I format this content so that it looks like the original. See attached.I have tried to create a two column table with the text in the first column and the anchored frame in the second column but its hard to select the anchored frame, photo, AND callouts and insert in cell.

Hi everybody,When you edit a Framemaker file (in unstructured mode), it would be nice to have side pane that shows the file structure based (like a mini TOC). This feature has been implemented in Word 2010 and it is very helpful. My question is: Is it possible to programmatically add such a navigation pane to Framemaker?TIA,Roman

We use FrameMaker 12 and a couple of users have noticed that after they make a PDF, the links in the TOC go to the wrong page. Anyone know what is causing this, and how to prevent it from happening?

I am using FrameMaker 10 and I am trying set up a Page Date frame that flows from page to page.The frame is high enough for only one line. i.e. is only large enough to contain one date. The date is to be entered either manually from the Body Pages of using a variable. Pressing enter once while in the Page date frame should take you to the next page where the next date is entered, and so on. I am using Left, Right and First master pages and I have added the page Date frame to each of the master pages using the following settings.The main content frame uses Flow A and the Page Date frame uses the Flow PageDate.However, I find that when I am in the body pages, the the Page Date frame does not appear to flow from age to page. Pressing enter in the Page Date frame adds a page immediately following with a blank content frame that is disconnected from the document’s structure. When I use Customize Text Frame for the main content frame on the page it shows that it is using Flow A and Autoconne
