Dear experts,From a palette i need to divert into a dialgoue and then come back into the palette.This works fine for the first time i enter the dialogue. The dialogue fails when entered the second time.A stripped down version of my scripts is following. The palette is to the left, the 'test' dialogue to the right:Usage is as follows:In the palette active the checkbox and clik the Handle Content button.This invokes the 'test' dialogue.According to the settings in the script the OK/Return button is hidden.Clicking the Cancel button closes this dialogue and we are back in the palette.Since the 'test' was cancelled, an alert appears with NO as default.Click NOThe check box is cleared for a new decisionNow the user 'changes the input (top field)', checks the box and clicks the Handle ... button.=> Error on line 48: undefined is not an object.What may be wrong here?// NestedDialogue.jsx#target framemaker// target needed for Alert ...var gsVariable;var wPalDS = new Window('palette',"FM-cal

Can Framemaker 2015 finally handle footnotes that are really long?  Can it split footnotes, can it be used for academic books?

In the Layout Customization window:I select "Sidebar (Desktop)" in the Layout Components, then change the Index tab image to a 31x23 pdf icon (this is the recommended size according to the field help). When I publish, this appears correctly.I select "Sidebar (Tablet)" in the Layout Components section. The field help for the Index tab image indicates max size 50px x 50 px, and smaller sizes will always fit.I have tried this with original icons downloaded from Adobe: 24x24, 32x32, and with the 'white space' around the 24x24 icon adjusted to 31x23 and 50x50.No matter what I choose, the image gets stretched horizontally.Question: Can somebody tell me what is causing this to happen / how to display the icon in its correct proportions? (Image below shows Tablet first (image stretched) followed by Desktop (image correct).Thanks!

I am outputting responsive HTML5 from FM 12 (soon to upgrade to FM 2015). I manually remove the Index and Glossary buttons from the output (this step will go away with FM 2015). I would like to replace the Index button image with a custom button image (of the PDF symbol) and make it so that when you click this PDF button, a PDF file opens (so the button has to redirect to the URL for the PDF). Can this be done?

In the Paragraph Designer (Default Font property group), in the Paragraph Tag field, I have a paragraph format, Heading3C.However, this Paragraph format does not show up in the Paragraph Catalog, even when the "Show All" option is selected.How can this be the case?  How can I have a "Heading3C" paragraph format tag without it showing up in the Paragraph Catalog?Note:  I do see a "Heading3" Paragraph tag in the Paragraph Catalog, but not the "Heading3C", if this is of any significance. I'm baffled.Any body know how this can be the case?Thanks.

I'm very new to XML publishing but my company is migrating from SGML to XML and is looking into a product called XPP from a company that used to be called Xywright. If anyone here has knowledge of XPP, can you please tell me if it can offer any features not available through FrameMaker? Thanks.

Our team has attempted to create a Relationship Table based on documents that are located on our SharePoint site. When we create the HRef using the SharePoint URL, it asks for credentials (username and password) and when we enter our Win based credentials it will not accept it. When we cancel, the URL appears in the Relationship Table, but when we close and reopen the file it disappears.

Hi,Is there a reasonable programmatic equivalent for the Change buttons in the Find dialog? FDK or ES? I have no urgency to find one, but I was going to use it if available. I'm looking for something simple and direct, no wild button-pushing-automation-routines or anything like that.I hope this isn't a dumb question. We reuse chunks of content and these chunks are each appearing at the top of a separate PDF page instead of following the chunk before it on the same page.

Hello.When I view a graphic in Illustrator, the blue colors are cool, shading to grey. When I import that exact .ai file into FrameMaker, they turn almost aquamarine, very light and bright. Why did this happen and how can I fix it?Thanks!

Hallo,I have a problem with tab stops. I can set a tab with the mouse in the ruler, but I can't set one in the tab format window (or rather Paragraph-formatting-window). After entering the tab-properties and clicking "continue" the window just closes and no tab ist created. Existing tabs cannot be edited either.Its the German version of FrameMaker 9 under Windows.Any ideas?sierra lima

FM - 2015 - Unstructured - Win 10Using a Wildcard search, how do you find numbers with a period. Like 111.22 or 1.33 or 334566.9877665?

When I adjust a paragraph format in a File we'll call "Original," and then import that style into other files in my book, unrelated formats are losing their settings. For example, my simplest format (Body) just suddenly changed from 10 pt to 12 pt. Is anyone else having this issue??? I've probably lost a week of time re-doing formats. I am selecting the file to import from VERY carefully, and know the formats are correct there because when I pull that file back up all is well. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!So for example, my "Original" file still has Body as 10pt.Other types of formatting lost:- indented styles lose their indenting- bulleted styles lose their special bulletsThe names of the styles are still present and correct in all files, but the formatting itself is changing for reasons that I cannot identify.I have never had this issue with FM before - and it's killing me. Just applied the latest update and it is still happening.

Hello,I tried to understand from the FM help how to create an image map but I just cannot work out the details. At least the German translation of the help is partially very unintelligible. Can someone point me to the required steps?From what I read, image maps will be converted to HTML and XML. So when I edit DITA files, does FM create the correct imagemap elements? And when I import to Robohelp, are HTML image maps created?Robert

I am about to make a book with recipes in FrameMaker 2015. The book is to be published as html 5 and pdf. I would like to be able to tag all recipe ingredients, so that one may click on them and get a search whice encompasses all the instances of the tagged work.Is it possible to do that with variables ?
