Is it possible to somehow create a custom topic in HTML5 that does not appear as text within the document? I am essentially trying to accomplish customized nesting within the HTML5 TOC, but I'm not sure if that is possible. For example, I would like all of the chapters in my book to be collapsed under a main "Chapters" TOC heading. The only way I can see how to do this is by physically inserting the word "Chapters" within the book and having the generated FM TOC pull in the assigned para tag. Is there an easier way to manipulate the HTML5 output TOC? I'm using a trial version of FM 2015.Thanks!Sarah
Is there anyone that knows how to make this work?
I am using FM11 and needed to add a fourth and fifth level to my procedure steps. I must have made a mistake in my autonumber format because when I have level 5 steps between level 4 steps, my level 4 restarts the numbering. My first TBD is where the para numbering restarted. The last line shows where the para numbering restarted again. Both times a level 5 procedure followed the level 4 procedure paragraph format.I have a Procedure_Begin para tag for the first in a series. Then I set the Next Pgf Tag to the para tag that is supposed to continue numbering. This is my autonumber format used. This shows the level 4 procedures basic setup.I thought the <a+> would continue my numbering.
I have problems when printing to HP printers for numbered, lettered, or bulleted paragraph types with a \t code. I often get gaps in the text in the wrong places - best illustrated by examplea. NanoPure (this one is ok - so it doesn't always happen)b.MasterF lex multichanneld.Mi dwest dental handpieces...g.Biosaf ety Level IThe tab should be after the period in the letter or number. This all have the same code - L:<a+>.\t and show up fine on the screen and show up fine in pdfs. So it appears that there's an issue in the FM12 - HP printer protocols. The print driver is new but it's happened over several HP printers and FM versions.Help!!David Stevens
Can anyone please give me the link to download Adobe FrammeMaker 9.0?

FrameMaker 12 on Windows 7 platform (new FrameMaker 12 user but have been using FrameMaker since 1996): I have a large manual comprised of multiple files. When I save the book as a pdf file, I get "FM ran out of memory" response, and then "Adobe FrameMaker 12 has stopped working" message. It creates a pdf file but won't let make alterations to the pdf file and then save it using the same name.
Looking to be able to hyperlink from something in Chapter 1 that is referencing another chapter. I can do it within a single chapter, but not outside. HELP! Note that I have FrameMaker 10.Thank you
I thought I'd seen something about this not so long ago, but haven't had any luck trying to turn up the previous post.Simple enough question: the heading PKCA–ALX–PROD shows up as PKCA–ALX–PROD in the ToC, but if I try to use a cross-reference to it the result is simplified to PKCA–ALX–PRODIs there a workaround? unfortunately, the subscripting is significant.

Hi All,I have created Master Pages as shown in the image below; normal Master Page usage is Right/Left.But for current Document, all master pages should be Wide Right & Wide Left.Is there a way to setup Master Pages, so it starts at Wide Right and then goes to Wide Left and then repeats this process?Or do I have to manually, set each right page to Wide Right and each left page to Wide Left? Thanks.
I have an unstructured Framemaker file in which I've created a number of MathML equations using MathFlow (as opposed to Framemaker's built-in equation builder). When I Publish this file as an ePub, however, Framemaker renders the equations as jpegs instead of XML. Is my understanding of how this is supposed to work correct? That the MathFlow equations should appear as XML markup in the XHTML file within the ePUB file? If so, why doesn't it?Thanks and regards.
Has anyone tried this combination?
When I generate LOF or LOT files, they are picking up an extra space between the autonumber entry "Figure 1-1" and the typed period following, like this: "Figure 1-1 ." Here is an actual entry:Figure 1-1 . Model 3800 Tachometer Test Set with AccessoriesThe actual figure captions have only the word "Figure" and the sequence number, as in "F:Figure <$chapnum>-<n+>". There is no space added there. And I manually insert a period, then a space, after the autonumbered entry when I type the figure title.Where is the extra space coming from?
Hello Everyone, There is an object in the TOC Reference Pages that is not text and I can't select it so I'm wondering what it is and how it got there. I need it to build my other TOC files so that I have a return after the Chapter Title when the Table of Contents is built for the user manual. Reference Pages - How do I create the Chapter 1. below?Correct TOCIncorrect TOC
Hi All,With your help, I have been able to establish corss-ref (or HyperText) to an external document.Yesterday, using HyperText option (Message Client), I was able to create link to an external PDF Document.Syntex of Message Client: message openfile relative_pathAfter publishing document, link to an external PDF document works fine. But when I move all the files and subfolders to another location, LINKS are BROKEN. Is there a way to fix that???Thanks in advance.
All,We are importing png's into Frame and using the Imported Graphic Scaling to set the DPI to a custom 120. The problem is every time we import we have to remember to click the radio button in front of Custom dpi or it defaults to 72 dpi. Is there any way to make Frame keep the radio button for custom selected?Doesn't seem like a big deal to select the radio button every time but when you are importing 138 items for one set of materials you want to save any clicks you can.Jen
I have a manual with custom markers labeled "14CFR" so that I can put regulatory references from each page into an index based on that reference. The Index I've created lists the 14CFR reference (i.e. 121.135) and the associated page number(s) that it's found on.The problem I'm having is that some regulatory references are numbers less than 3 digits on either side of the decimal. For example, I might have 121.15, 121.17, 121.11, 91.13, etc. When these are listed in the generated index, they come out in the order as if they were numbers... so:121.11121.113121.116121.2121.25121.277121.278121.3121.311121.312etc..What I want is that 121.3 is not 121.300 (which it would be as a number), but that it's actually a 3 and it would come way before a 113. Without adding unnecessary zeros (i.e. 121.003), is there any way I can get these in the order I need them? Also, how do I change the header? It keeps filing the numbers under "Numerics" but I want to permanently change that to something else.Than
Hello everybodySince FM 2015 the text-variables have a space before and after it (on normal latin text). This happens to me if I use LTUnivers (Type1) fonts, but other fonts work well. A bug?A possible solution is to turn on the Asian Composer in Paragraphsettings. Is it possible to turn on Asian Composer by default on every text?thank youKind regardsAlbrik
Hello,I have just installed FM 2015, and my first question is, how do I resize the pods that are stuck along the sides (and sometimes the bottom) of the application window? I like the idea of having everything in one place, but for example, on the right is the list of catalogs (paragraph, character, tables, etc). It is much too wide, and it wastes valuable space that I would like to have for the document.I read that I could just float all the pods, but I'd like to try it this way first. I checked Preferences, and also the help files, but although there were some ways to configure the placement of the pods, I didn't see anything about resizing them to make more space for other elements.Platform: Windows 8Thanks...
I have a Folder Called Parent.Inside PARENT folder, I have an FM file called CHAPTER1.FM and a sub-folder Child.Inside the CHILD folder I have a PDF file called ABCD.PDF.How can I add a link or Cross-Reference to PDF file into the Framemaker???Thanks you.
In FrameMaker 12.0.4, we'd like to automate (or semi-automate) entering the Table Continuation variable in all table titles.By making the Next paragraph property of the Table Title paragraph a new 'graf (called Table Title Continued), and making the table title 'graf a run in, we get two 'grafs in the table title frame, one with the table number and the text of the title, and the second with null text and the string "cont.".The question is, can we do it? Manually keyboarding "<$Table Continuation>" into the Autonumber format field does not seem to work. It may not even be possible.TX & all the best

I don't think I count as a dinosaur myself … but perhaps a dinosaur-herder; to put it another way, some of my documents are intended for delivery only as .pdf, not some new-fangled .html help.Which being so – what are the pros and cons for using .psd graphics for screenshots rather than .png, apart from the fact that PhotoShop is head and shoulders above the other bitmap graphics tools I have access to? I'll stick with Illustrator and .eps for vector graphics, of course. Thanks in advance for points to consider.
I have a book with multiple files that are one page each (different languages). I have the pagination set to Delete empty pages in both the book and the files. I do have Double-sided pages selected because I need the page number to move right or left depending on where the files lands. But every time I update within the book, some files revert to two pages. It's driving me crazy. Any suggestions?
