My Pro Tools program was damaged by the Creative Cloud system.I was invited to install and try the Cloud, but it did me a great dis-service and has set me back in Production and personal time trying to get my pro Tools working again. I am really disappointed and would like you to advise me how to restore my program to its working state. I am in a traumatic state since I have Artistes life work being processed in the Pro Tools 9 Program. Help! Help! Please.Ps. I tried reinstalling the software from the Disc....Still NOT working.
I have a contract to edit and save documents in this version format but I only have 1 license. I need 3-5 licenses. Any ideas? I cannot find any legitimate websites that sell legacy versions.
We are working on technical publications that require the use of MIL-STD-40051 for the US Army, some of the Frame files we have have master pages that are set up to use certain system variables such as <$filename> to display what would be the work package number, this is great because the the filename is the work package number, the problem is this also displays the file extension which is not good and we need to eliminate otherwise we are then having to go and create a file that has no extension in order to make sure this doesn't appear, we would like to just use the .fm files to make this happen but unless we can modify this to not show the file extension we are left doing extra work. Any assistance would be great on finding a fix for this. Thanks,David

Hello fellows,Are you aware of any way to convert a Mif file to HTML outside of Framemaker? In the past, there were attempts to create tools that convert Mifs to XML, but they weren't really successful.Thank you for your suggestions in advance!
I have tried to open a file (configuration.fm . I give this file name because I am not sure whether the name has anything to trigger the crash) in FM12 and the system shows an error and close. The screenshot of the error is given below.I am using a Virtual Machine to access FM 12 as this product license belongs to my company. FM 12 shows this error only when I open a particular file from the book which contains more than 20 files. Can anybody here to help me to sort this out?I am ready to provide you any further information you may require for clearing this error. The error log is given below.=== Header Begin ===Internal Error: 12024, 5109364, 5109658, 8042869FrameMaker 12.0.2 for IntelBuild: 12.0.2.389Window System: MSWindowsOperating System: Windows NT 6.1 (major.minor.build: 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1) Generated on: Tuesday, July 29, 2014 6:03:53 AMTo file: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\12\FrameLog_14.07.29_06.03.53.txtLocale: EnglishCurrent Mode: MakerC

Hi I am a Newbie to Framemaker,I have some rows in tables that are larger than the page size and find that the text flows off the page. How do you 'break' the table text so the text automatically flows to the next page ie similar to a Word table?. Michael
If I am highly experienced with InDesign/Pagemaker, Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop, how hard would it be to come up to speed on FrameMaker? Any online training resources you would recommend to shorten the learning curve? I am interviewing for a tech writing job and need to know (a) how fast I can learn FrameMaker and (b) what online training resources you might recommend to get me there F-A-S-T!!
Our company has a 3600+ page manual for a software program that has been around for 30+ years. The software product is very antiquated - in fact, it's mostly a text-based program. Users navigate to the different areas of the program by typing in menu numbers, which is listed on the screen. Originally, the manual was organized by these menu numbers, but our new customers had a hard time finding information. A few years ago we reorganized the topics to be task-based, but we have some experienced users as well as our support staff that still want to be able to look at a list of the topics organized by menu number. In our last release, I did this all manually by printing a list of all the headings and their corresponding menu numbers, and added them as cross-reference links in the back of the manual. This took over a week and was a major pain. Obviously, from a maintenance perspective, it's a nightmare. Is there any way that I can automate this process by using an index or modified TOC to
FM 8 kept crashing when trying to build/generate a book. Error codes that came up in the error message were: 8004, 6335581, 8468256, 0. Any ideas would be appreciated since I cannot do my job with FM crashing every time I attempt a build. Colleagues have no problems and have the same configuration.
Does anyone know what the entries in the FrameMaker "lck" file represent ? I can guess at some of them, but if there is some kind of reference info somewhere, that would be useful.ThanksJang
An English MIF was translated for us into Korean. When we read the MIF file into FM11 we see questions-marks (?????) instead of the actual text.If we copy&paste the question-marks-text into MS Word we see the Korean fonts looking good.If we we create a PDF from that MIF file then the bookmarks look fine but the actual text is scrambled - here is how it looks:Appreciate any related assistance. Thanks,Eitan
When I do Hindi layout in FM, some word shows wrong. (The font we use: Mango)I don't know how to fix these bugs.

Have just installed latest patch and cannot now change any attributes in Structured FrameMaker - FM12 crashes.
Hi allUsing Framemaker 12 on Windows 8.1.I have made a copy of my colleague's Framemaker files and images from our document management system and am finding the age-old problem of missing images. My problem is that the files are in four different locations, and Framemaker seems to only be able to remember one path at a time. This means that unless two files from the same folder happen to be sequential in a document, I'm having to find each image manually, which is very tiresome.I found the following thread about this and was full of hope..."Manage Graphics". It seemed oh-so-promising.In this thread it says "So, if your graphics are in even just two locations, FrameMaker may ask you over and over for the locations because it is jumping back and forth between the two. This case is the case that I have. I typically give the location of the first graphic, then click ignore for all of the rest in the file (or until I get bored). Even though I am ignoring the remaining graphics, FrameMaker st
I've got one document in the middle of a book in which the pages don't autonumber correctly, event though the all the other chapters in the book do. In other words, it runs like this:Ch. 1: pp. 1 - 4Ch. 2: pp. 5 - 10Ch. 3: pp. 1 - 6Ch. 4: pp. 17- 22In Ch. 3, when I go into the Page tab of the Numbering Properties dialog box, the First Page # radio button is checked, and the first page number is "1". I delete the "1", click the Continue Numbering from Previous Page in Book radio button, and click Set. Nothing changes in the document, and when I reopen the Numbering Properties box, the First Page # button is still checked, and it's still set to "1". Saving the file doesn't make any difference, nor does closing it and reopening it.Any ideas about what the problem is?
(FM11)We're considering Sharepoint as a CMS for use with FM11 (maybe FM12 later) and are looking for some trailheads. Can values of FM variables become visible through Sharepoint? What about File Info values (File > File Info) ?Which features of Sharepoint views / pages / layouts are particularly helpful or frustrating? If you were doing it again, what would you do the same and what would you do differently?Best regards,
Hey gang,I've got a fairly simple FrameMaker 7 document (one file, 94 pages) that requires page numbers to follow the Chapter No. - Page No. format (e.g., 3-2). Two issues occur: 1) the chapter number stays at 1, and 2) the page number increments by one when I need it to restart after every new chapter. My paragraph tags are like this:ChapterTitleHeading1Heading2, etc.I think I've identified a disconnect: the heading numbering is as follows (thanks to Deborah Snavely for explaining the matrix approach): <n+>< =0>< =0>< =0>< =0>< >< >\t where n+ is the heading number, followed by four subheadings. The last two bracket sets are for figures and tables, respectively. I set the page numbering in the master pages as follows: <$chapnum>-<$curpagenum>. Chapter/paragraph numbering works as advertised, as do figure and table numbers. How do I change the page number variables to
I compose DITA topics in the XML view with the word wrap option selected. If I switch to the Author view to check something and then return to the XML view, my nicely formatted XML view with all the happy element-nesting tabs goes away. I wind up with an ugly chunk of flush-left code and text that's difficult to read. Is there a reason why FM can't remember the tabs and word wrap when I return to the XML view?I'm relatively new to using FM's structured side for DITA, so perhaps I'm missing the obvious solution to this problem. If you know the answer, I'd appreciate if you'd clue me in.Thanks!
Hi all,I've been searching a long time on internet to find the switch for a silent install of Adobe Framemaker 10. I've tried a lot of things, but nothing really did it..Could you please help me on a Silent install switch for Adobe Framemaker 10? I want to deploy it with SCCM 2012.Thanks
I tried using the wingdings font as check-box. But I don't want to use it manually every time. I want to have it as a style part of my procedure style (numbering style). I need the check-box along with each numbered item. Whenever I apply my numbering style in FM, I should get something like:" <checkbox> 1. <text> "
