HelloI'm using Framemaker 12, and I work with HTML5 output to publish online helps.In my FM files, I use PNG images which are in anchored frames.My problem is, after I did the HTML5 output, my images appear "black" as you can see below. Any idea about where this problem comes from would be greatly appreciated !Thanks a lot.________________________________________

Hi all,Here is the problem I'm facing :I've created several FM12 books. Each one has a life on its own, as the main purpose is to publish in PDF format.I would like publish in HTML5 to put all the books in an online help, that would be integrated into my company's website.I have a problem dealing with the structure of my online help.When putting out each book individually in HTML5, my TOC format is perfectly preserved as such :ChapterTitle- Level 1- Level 2- Level 3ChapterTitle- Level 1- Level 2- Level 3     However, if i put all my books in a same master-book, and generate a master-TOC, the HTML5 Output breaks my TOC format, as I have the following result :Book 1 name- ChapterTitle- Level 1- Level 2- Level 3- ChapterTitle- Level 1- Level 2- Level 3Book 2 name- ChapterTitle- Level 1- Level 2- Level 3- ChapterTitle- Level 1- Level 2- Level 3Any hint or idea on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. I am working with FM11. I have some procedure steps in a table and the first line is too close to the header row. I have tried to add some space with the paragraph designer, but it does not appear to be making the first procedure step drop lower. How can I make this work? Thanks for your help.

In a FrameMaker book, is there a way to search all the text insets in a book without opening each individual inset?I'm working on a project that has more than 30 text insets. I'd like to search for certain terms without having to open each inset. I'm using FrameMaker 11.

I am working in FM11. I need to have a caution border around pages from one chapter in my book. I took the hash mark pattern from set pen pattern and made a rectangle on a master page. The thickness of the rectangle is fine and I see how to change that. I would like to make the pattern itself thicker meaning the diagonal marks have more white space before and after the color hash mark.

Hi,I've seen in some Adobe help guides support for thumbnail graphics, embedded in the text flow which can then be clicked to expand a full image, similar to a light-box style thumbnail, which expands when clicked. I'd like to implemented something similar in my guides. Is that possible, and what's the best way to achieve this?Thanks

1a. The original pdf is an outline drawing from google maps done in Generic CAD. As part of that process, the original pdf also had a title, a ruler to measure the map, and some notes at the bottom.1b. This drawing was cropped using Adobe Acrobat XI tools.2a. The second file is a Frame 12 document which has the cropped pdf from Item 1 on the master page.2b. On the body page are some hundreds of numbers (dots on the map).2c. This looks just great in Frame.3. Save as pdf in Frame brings the uncropped image from Item 1a as part of the pdf from 2c.4. The pdf generated in item 3 will be inserted as an anchored frame in a new document.How to fix #3. Then I'll have to figure out #4.Thanks in advance.

It used to be when drawing a line in Framemaker that holding down the Shift key while dragging the line would keep the line straight. This no longer works in Frame 12. What is the correct way to get a straight line?Thanks in advance.

Hi there experts,we have a fairly odd problem:On a new computer (Win 7, 64 bit) somebody first installed Acrobat 6 (yes - no mistake!) and later FM9. The installed separate FM9 version is a downgrade from FM10. I think it's using the FM10 installation engine and I think that's the reason why Acrobat 6 vanished from her computer, since we never had problems with FM9 and Acrobat 6 or 7 on the same machine before.She UNistalled the separate FM9 version and installed Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, Photoshop CS5 and FM9 from the TCS 2.5 package. - To make sure the activation of the package would work.=>FM9 works fine, Photoshop CS5 works fine, Acrobat 9 Pro Extended doesn't.Each time she tried to open Acriobat, she was told to open another software from the package to activate Acrobat. Framemaker includes empty lines and comments such as "?Fm Validation Off?" into the doctype declaration.Is it possible to suppress this? A clean single-line declaration would be preferrable for us.Regards,Robert

I have filed a bug report/feature request. But obviously, Adobe is trying to kill off its old FrameMath. If they make it so no one will want to use it, then they don't have to keep supporting it. FrameMath had many shortcuts one could use so that one never had to use the FrameMath Palatte for most operations. While I was more comfortable with the Mac shortcuts, I have learned the Windows shortcuts and have used the ones available on both systems. You used to be able to type \lim (short for limit) and that would be the same as going to the Calculus pane and hitting the limit button. You could type \alpha and get the alpha character. You actually do not have to type out the full word, just enough for FrameMaker to figure out which one you were using. All of these shortcuts are gone. Accident---doubtful. No one checked, possible, unlikely.I know that the concentration is on the new features with MathFlow, but the old features worked and made Frame easier to use. MathFlow and MathType have

I've beenusing the Tech Comm Suite with Frame 9 and Acrobat 9.5 for years, and suddenly cannot create a pdf of a frame doc. The ps file is empty. This is happening to a colleague using the same suite across the country. Any suggestions? Please help!

Hi,I have XML with MathML inside, and I want to generate PDF. I have imported XML in FrameMaker template and formatted the XML with EDD support. However, all my MathML coding appear as text instead of Equation. I want to render all inline MathML tags as Equation. I aware that I can create Equation through "Special->MathML Equation" menu, but this approach seems like I need to re-create all equations one by one. Please advise.

InDesign has a nice mechanism for calling one script from another, so code can be made modular. What about FrameMaker ExtendScript? What methods are people using to call one script from another? Thanks for any suggestions.Rick Quatro

Hi all,I am using FrameMaker 11 on a Windows 7 laptop.The script catalog is a very handy way to easily access common scripts. However, the "favourites" section does not retain newly added scripts once the program is restarted.Here is my workflow:Open FM, open script catalog, add multiple scripts to "favourites," run any script, close FM, reopen FM, none of the scripts remainIf I do not run any of the scripts, they remain there the next time I open FM. However, running any script will remove all of them from the favourites section.I've noticed that the scripts do remain in File -> Script -> History.Is there any way to avoid this? It is very inconvenient to manually add the scripts back into the favourites section every time.Thanks,Trevor

and has always generated the list of references just fine.  Now in FM12, the LOR no longer will give any references for the Imported Graphics.  I have even tried creating a new chapter from the FM12 templates, adding the chapter to the front of the book, and allowing FM12 to use that file as the template for the LOR.  Still no success - it will not give any references to the Imported Graphics in my chapter files.  Is this a bug in FM12?  Is there something different about FM12 that would cause this not to work with existing FM11 files???  Please help, I need this resolved and working.Thank you,Beverly

Hi,Customising the FrameMaker output for web help is proving problematic. 1. Here's the first issue - The Online FrameMaker help says the following:"You can also import WebHelp or compressed WebHelp skins defined in .skn or .zkn files, respectively. To import a skin, click Import and then select the .skn or .zkn file from the file system."   (see Adobe FrameMaker 12 * Customizing output specific settings)However, when importing a skin (publish settings > custom > outputs >navigation > skin selection > import), the  Import option only enables a file of type *.skn and not the compressed *.zkn.2.  Second issue - The customised skin is not picked up correctly in the Webhelp output. To be specific, the required graphic elements have not been copied over from the customised skin. The only way round this is to manually copy over the graphic skin files to the output folder and then refresh the help output. The graphics appear, but unfortunately the skin still
