Hi! I have had an imac m3 16gb ram for 1 and a half years and editing on it is fantastic, truly amazing!I have had an new imac m4 in my studio for a few weeks (with better ram - 24gb, and better processor version) and today I noticed something that tires my eyes and slows down my work. This effect is blurring the photo for a moment after zooming or using any slider or editing option from the program. I started searching the web and read about suggestions with creating previews for optimization and direct catalog optimization itself. Unfortunately, it does not help. I noticed that on my imac m3 I have the use of the graphics processor turned on, (on automatically) and probably thanks to this I owe the comfort of work for the eyes and fluidity at my home. Unfortunately, according to the information that Lightroom gives me in the settings I cannot turn it on on the imac m4 in my studio because it is not supported, the option is not available, not clickable, grayed out. I have
Trying to print a 11x14 but it will only print 11x13 1/4. The last 3/4 is just blank, white space. All the settings say it is set for a 11x14 borderless. The picture on the screen shows the complete picture. Never prited anything this big. Beginer.
I am using latest version of LrC. When I exit lightroom with backup option, I am receiving error message 'unable to backup the catalog please check folder permission and, make sure that you have available space' I have checked folder permission and space is also enough. This is happending after ver.14.5 upgrade. I have reverted to previous version 14.4 now not getting error. Please address the issue.
Hi, I've just downloaded a set of images but when I come to look at them they are 'Greyed' out. Saying that they appear to be duplicates? The original files are there in my pictures folder but not on LR. I've obvioulsy pressed something but cannot sort It out. Please help! Thanks In advance Andy
As expected, increasing the shadows in an image reveals noise in those regions. However, when a photo in HDR mode has the clarity in the SDR Conversion settings set to roughly -80 or lower, increasing its shadows doesn't just reveal existing noise, but creates new unwanted noise pixels in those regions. These pixels are almost always entirely red, green, or blue, distractingly bright, and can appear in nearly any raw photo. When the image is taken out of HDR mode, the pixels disappear. In HDR, I only found four ways to remove these pixels outside of masking and manual editing: >Set the entire image to black-and-white mode. >Increase the clarity in the SDR conversion settings. -80 or higher is usually enough to remove them. >Increase the clarity in the tone mapping settings. +15 is usually good even with the clarity at -100 in the conversion settings. >Perform an AI Denoise. >>On the other hand, AI Super Resolution creates even more of these pixels.
I use Lightroom Classic and more than once the Select Background and the Select People Masks introduce a very fine white outline to subjects. It is particularly noticeable with with B&W images that have dark subjects against a light background. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a workaround in LrC? Thanks, R
Hello. I used Adaptive Color Profile when it was first released but I seem to be having issues with it now. When I select it it is making zero changes to the image. The Histogram isn't changing at all (it was, significantly in cases, when I first used it). Using LRC v14.4 on MacOS 15.5 on a 13 inch 1019 Macbook Pro. Screenshots attached when bot profiles applied with no adjustments made elsewhere.
I have tried updating Lightroom Classic from version 14.0.1 to every version from 14.1 - 14.5 but in each update after 14.0.1 the Library Module isn't fully functional. I can see the History panel and Keywording panel, for example, but the information in the panels is missing. I thought this issue would have been resolved with this latest update, but no such luck. Help!
We have been adapting to the suggested workflow. To better help us follow the order I suggest to switch positions of the Crop and Remove Icons. Since you suggest to use Remove first it would be helpful. Also flip these in the Remove tool because you suggest to do Distraction Removal first. Thanks
I have been trying to launch PS from Photoshop Beta. It won't. Uninstalled it. Installed PS 2025. still not working.
I have tried to update Lightroom Classic on my laptop. The last time I used LrC on my laptop was in 2018. When I try to open LrC I get the error message "Lightroom encountered problems when trying to update the format of the catalog file and cannot use this catalog in this version of Lightroom". Can someone please offer suggestions to fix the error?
Running Lightroom Classic on Windows 11, I am not syncing to cloud or currently using Lightroom Mobile. Recently Lightroom Classic leaves background process running after exiting (visible in Processes Tab of Task Manager). So to reopen LR Classic, need to first kill the left over process or restart Windows. Have tried resetting preferences to no effect. Catalog is optimized. Program seems to run ok, and everything else seems to work fine. Any ideas out there?
When the catalog setting Write Date Or Time Changes Into Proprietary Raw Files is enabled, Save Metadata To File will incorrectly modify a .CR3, changing its EXIF:DateTimeOriginal. This bug was introduced in LR 14.4 -- it doesn't occur in LR 14.3. Tested on Mac OS 15.5. To reproduce: 1. Download and open this very small catalog: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/q8h2ewc5tf3snplofz1j8/raw-capture-time.2025-06-29.zip?rlkey=nggfak157pvulk12a5mhcjgsu&dl=0 Observe that the Metadata panel shows the .CR3 has Capture Date/Time: 6/29/25 1:26:10 PM. 2. Open the "pics" subfolder in the catalog folder in Finder with View > As List. Sort the view by Date Modified. Take note of the Date Modified for the .ARW and .CR3. 3. Select both photos and do Metadata > Save Metadata To File. Observe in Finder that the Date Modified of the two files hasn't changed and that there are now two .xmp sidecars (correct). 4. Set the option Catalog Settings > Meta
This is perhaps more of an oversight than a bug. Currently when shooting tethered the "same as previous" also carries over the automatically selected lens profile. This means that if you change lenses during the shoot all the new photos will have the wrong lens profile applied. While it's easy to rectify later, this really seems like it shouldn't be the case. At the very minimum there should be the option to select "ignore previous lens profile" or something similar.
I created a Collection which I want to turn into a book in the book module. The 1st screenshot shows that Collection. When I then go to the book module, the previous photobook I created comes up - which is based on a different Collection. Even though I am still inside the present collection I created in the Colletions panel, Lightroom *thinks* I want the book I previously created - not so! I want to start a new book. I don't see a "clear" option inside the book module. How can I start afresh? Thanks.
My wife shoots Nikon, I use Sony...when I upload both sets of photos to a folder in LRc and sort by capture time, it sorts by time only within the respective file types (.NEF vs .ARW)...does anyone know how to fix this so all the photos are sorted by capture time?
Was about to upgrade but Chat GPT is talking about some serious bugs people came across going from 15.2 to 15.6 like catalogue corruption and masking not working and more.I am wondering how widespread is it? anyone here have big issues?
I've a tech background and simple user on and Lightroom Classic (win10 with 16 RAM)LR sometimes crashes but not every session or version. The Problem:after I added a RAW image library, I went through 800 images and added a star-based and color-based rating and processed a few images as leading protype or template for othe images. After closing Lightroom, it asked to back up (crashed before or hanged so many time so i ignored that most of the time) I tried to point it to a new catalog location but it got stuck in the process (again).after long night I open it, Lightroom shows me the new library but from of all the images it only shows only 5 with the rating and color marking.Additionally, after restarting LR, I am unable to mark images with a rating or color. LR seems to ignore the color markin AND rating and not display image according any filtering.EDIT: On the third restart of LR I can mark and see the filtering. but I REALY want to understand why it's happen. In a side note
Hi, whenever I use text in the library filter and the result kicks in, the first picture becomes unreadable (except for a very lowres preview). A restart of lightroom helps, even with the same filter applied (filters locked). But as soon as I type a different set of characters, it happens again with the newly filtered set, and LRC needs to restart to be able to view and work on the first photo.***** EDIT: it doesn't happen consistently, but occassionally. Even with the same text applied, sometimes the same picture can't be read, but entering different text and then the previous again can solve the problem too. But it is always the first top left. Hard to figure out what the problem might be.Windows 11 latest, LRC 14.5, CR17.5
When a video is exported from Lightroom Classic, the “Capture Date” (CreateDate or DateTimeDigitized) is overwritten with the time of the export. However, the “Capture Date” must not be changed during export. It works when exporting photos.
In LRC, I have installed the plugins for Luminar Neo and Topaz Photo AI. There seem to be two ways to get to the plugins. One is File->Plugin Extras, the other is right clicking on the photo, the selecting "Edit In". Question- why does Luminar Neo show up in both menu options, but Topaz is missing in the Right Click/Edit-In menu?
Does anyone have a solution to this? I've been getting it sporadically for years when I use the Stamp tool, or in the case of this photo the Remove tool. It leaves this white ghost of what it has removed. In this photo I'm editing a Nikon RAW file using Generative AI, but it does it with the Stamp & Healing tools as well.
I am using Lightroom Classic version 14.5 when i reopen many photos they show that there is clipping (mainly blacks). I always remove all or most of the clipping when i originally edited them. Can anyone explain why this happens and how it cab be resolved.
