A Question. Is it safe to use the suffix .lrdevplugin or it is always better to package the plug-ins using the suffix .lrpluginSDK manual says: "For convenience, you can use the suffix .lrdevplugin during development, and change the extension to .lrplugin for delivery. The .lrdevplugin suffix is recognized by Lightroom Classic but does not trigger the package behavior in the macOS Finder."No mention of "side effects" but I wonder if anyone has experienced some issues.Question is perhaps silly.
Hi everyone! I have a question. I’m using the latest versions of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. In my workflow, I always receive photos in DNG format, which I open in Lightroom. If I need to make any adjustments, I open them in Photoshop directly from Lightroom. The problem is that when I save the file after editing, it gets saved as a TIFF file.Is there any way to change this or fix it?
To start, my Lightroom catalog is pretty big (23k+ photos) -- I know, I should probably start a new one. Everything (catalog files + photos) is stored on my 2TB SSD (sandisk), which is almost entirely full (~100gb remaining). Last night, while editing a photo in LrC, Lightroom closed unexpectedly. At first I thought it was an issue with Lightroom, but then I realized my SSD was no longer recognized by my computer (which is a Mac mini w/ latest update). After taking it out and plugging it back in, assuming I had maybe nudged the connection, it no longer showed up on my computer, nor my other MacBook. Only after plugging it into a windows would it appear needing "repairs." After running the repair, everything seemed fine -- I could see it on my Mac after plugging in, all photos were seemingly there, and LRc opened. I assumed it was a one-off. But then, when I went to continue developing a new photo, the same thing happened -- LrC started spinning, it unexpectedly closed, and my driv
I’m trying to get Lightroom Classic running on a new Mac M4 Pro Mini (Sequoia 15.5) but it won’t open even though it opens and runs fine on my old machine (2017 iMac OS Ventura 13.7).Error message reads "The Lightroom catalog cannot be used because the parent folder “/Users/Robert/Pictures/Lightroom/Arrowmont” does not allow files to be created within it. Please either fix the folder permissions before continuing or choose a different catalog."The catalogs are stored in their default location, in folders within the Pictures folder. From reading various forum threads here’s what I have tried so far:Choosing different catalogs produces the same error. Permissions of the Catalog file is set to Robert (Me), staff, everyone Read and Write. Permissions of the Pictures folder (applied to all enclosed items) is set to Robert (Me), staff, everyone Read and Write Tried resetting LRC Preferences Tried clean install LRC. Uninstalled using the Uninstaller app in
When I'm away from home I'll import individual images from my camera into LR Mobile and do some first pass editing. These sync to the cloud, and when I get home and bring up LR Classic on my desktop the files show up in the folder in my catalog that was specified for syncing. At this point I'll import every image on my memory card into Classic for further culling/editing. However Classic is pretty inconsistent with matching up my cloud-edited images with the freshly imported raws. For example with my lastest import I brought in about 700 images and had 56 in the cloud. Of those 56, Classic matched up 16 of them with the local files and made them 'Copy 1' versions of the originals. The remaining 40 did not do this. All files are being reported with the same file name + extension (CR3) so I take that mean to nothing has been converted to DNG (which might mess up filename matching). I don't know if it's useful but I had 9 days of shoots and only photos from the last 4 days got proper
Hello!, My Lightroom Classic fails after opening. What happens is the screen goes gray (see attachment). I then must go to Task Manager (Windows 11) to quit the application. This has been a persistent problem for about 8 months now. I have posted here before about this problem, but have never received a resolution.I am running a Dell Computer with 32 GB RAM, with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card installed. All graphic drivers are current. If I do not get a resolution to this problem I have no other option bu to terminated my subscription and start using ON1 Photo Raw and DxO PhotoLab8
When I try to syncronise a folder, Syncronise says there are photos to import, but then does not show any. I think I ran into this once before, but I don't remember how I solved it. Has anyone else seen this and found the cause? I am on 14.2 and Windows 10.
"Removing" parts of my image with Generative AI in Lightroom v.14.3.1 work fine most of the time, but sometimes the repaired part is darker than the surrounding area. Is there a technique to avoid that? Thanks in advance1J.L.
In the last LRC release when you select a group of images for creating Standard Size preview, LRC create previews only for some images at the beginning of the group and a couple located in the end.To create all the previews you need you must repeat the procedure several times and this is quite frustraiting.
Windows 11 OS. Lightroom Classic freezing, when I'm using the new AI masking. (BTW I'm getting a new GPU) However after forced closure it's filling up my C drive. Where can I find the dumped files I can delete and recover the hard drive space? I've already done the obvious cleaning using Windows' utilities. Thank you - Peter

Hi, there is no "defringe", "manual defringe" when I try to copy the settings. Remove Chromatic aberration doesn't do the necessary job, and when I copy the entire lens correction, the manual adjustments are not being copied, which forces me to manualy do it in all pictures that need editing. Could this please be fixed?
I'm unable to export any files from lightroom classic. I restarted the software and was able to export 2 photos before i was unable to export again. any thoughts on how I can fix it? i have never seen this issue [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
I am running Lightroom Classic 14.3.1 on macOS Sequoia 15.4.1. I want to be able to copy photos from the Photos App into Lightroom using the Auto-Import feature. In the Auto-Import settings, I define the Watched Folder with no problem. Photos does export images to this folder just fine. I then move to define the Destination Folder, stored as a Lightroom-indexed folder. When I select OK, I get this error I have checked the Adobe docs at https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/import-photos-automatically.html and in the "Select a destination folder for auto-imported photos" section it says "To select an existing destination folder, select the folder." I have tried all manner of destination folders, but always get the same error:* within LR indexed folder tree* outside tree* on external drive* on internal drive What am I doing wrong?
Will Adobe make Lightroom Classic support Apple sidecar fully instead of just mirroring displays? I would like to use my iPad as a tablet (like a Wacom). Marty
Lightroom would not open a few days ago. I took the steps from the community and it opened up but it could not find my files. All the pictures are gray. I came back a few day later and it will not open again. I've tried the same steps woth no luck. When I try to reset preferences I don't get an opition to reset them. Maybe Im doing it wrong. I did the new update in hopes that would help, but nothing. I really need to get back to editing pictures.
Theft: My laptop with adobe applications bridge lr ps etc was stolen in Barcelona by clever professionals. Is there a way to get all those photos back? I terminated the adobe in the stolen laptop, it had not been accessed since the theft. And I am working now throurg my account and setting up my photographies in the new laptop. These "stolen" photos were not stored in the icloud, but Im sure they are in the LRC for example. Just could not find them. Thanks for any piece of advice, and keep safe with your devices when traveling in the paradise of the thieves, such as Barcelona airport trains.
Hello guys, I have LR Classic 13.0 installed. I would like to use a newer version (13.3 or later), where do I find the update? My Mac will not take the 14 version. Thanks
After upgrading my Mac OS from Sonoma 14.4 to Sequoia 15.4.1 images in all modules of Lightroom Classic 14.3.1 have a green tint when selected. Images in the film strip below do not seem to be affected. Is this a know problem and is there a fix available through Adobe. The images export correctly but it is not possible to work with them in Lightroom because of the tint.
it reads other formats but my canon raw and sony raw files .... I have a 2019 Mac Pro. Anyone encounter this? [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
While using lightroom classic version 14.3 and trying to select a very clearly defined object my lightroom classic program either crashes after a few minutes of trying to detect the object or it takes 7 minutes to detect the object and it doesn't even do it well. I'm on windows 10. I have used the same laptop for years and previously when I was on versions 13.5 and lower all the masking selections worked just fine. I've updated my graphics driver to the latest and greatest and I've tried to turn the graphics processor setting in lightroom to Auto and Off and neither seems to have made any noticeable improvement in selection. Sky selection, background selection, and subject selection work fine and relatively quickly. What gives with object selection? When I try to select an object my laptop sounds like it's about to blast off and it doesn't do that with the other mask selections.
Since 14.3, I notice that Auto Advance was occationally on in Develop mode (which it should not). I have caps lock off, sometimes if i select 5 then 6 (5 star + red label), it will occationally auto advance, which is very annoying. Please fix it...M1 Mac, LrC 14.3.1
Hello, I’ve migrated to Lightroom Classic on a new Mac from Lightroom 6.14 on a vintage iMac. I synchronised and optimised my catalog before importing to Lr Classic. However, some of my original edits are missing. I repeated the process to create a new catalog, but this hasn’t fixed the problem. I would welcome advice on how to retrieve the missing edits.
I need to uprade my desktop PC to Windows 11, and Lightroom is one of the more demanding apps I use. It currently runs an Intel i7-3770K processor, which I need to replace for W11. Can anyone recommend an Intel or AMG processor that's suitable? Most on-line reviews seem to focus on gaming requirements, so choosing is proving difficult.
