I wanted to add to the number of posts about the catalog update causing LRC to crawl and make it basically unusable from a work standpoint. Basically any button or mouse click within the active screen (minus the top menus) has a delayed response. Right click on an image, menu pop up delayed.. in some cases minutes before it pops up Rating, as I rate photos the star is not displayed like usual.. in some cases take minutes Quick edits in the library module, same as above Sync edits, same as above Pretty much everything is crawling. With cloud sync on I can see LRC is running about 15%-20%. When I pause it it stops the behind the scenes running and it gets a little more responsive but still delayed. I re-synced my LR collections and they all uploaded but the issue remains.. LRC shows it is always syncing 2 or so photos constantly. I let it run multiple times over night, no fix. I upgraded from 13.3 Made sure m
I updated the other day, and moving from one picture to the next is unbelievably slow. Takes a good 20+ seconds. The catalog is no bigger than my usual and very little editing. I tried optimizing the catalog, that makes no difference. Anyone else have the problem or found a fix? Apple M1 Pro, macOS 13.5, 32 GB RAM
I followed the tips on adobe to improve performace, and I work off an external hard drive. The lag is still horrible. Any tips? I have an iMac with M1 chip, 16BG, OS 14.6.1. my external hardive is a WD with 4TB of space thats 50% full....

I need a little help. I just switched to a Canon R5 from a Canon 5Dsr. I am using a Canon 16-35 EF L f4 lens on both bodies. When I go into Lightroom Classic to cull images from card after shooting on the R5, the images are smaller. When I click on an image to view focus I expect it to go to 1:1 and zoom in but instead it zooms out. I also notice that the magnifying glass has a minus symbol and not a plus. Is there any way to reverse this? I want 1:1 to zoom in not out. This does not happen with the 5Dsr images. I actually used the same card in both cameras with taking the same exact image and loaded them into Lightroom classic and the 5Dsr image starts normal and goes to 100% and the image looks great but the exact R5 image gets smaller when I click on it and looks quite bad. The magnifying glass on the 5Dsr image has a plus symbol in it, but the R5 image has a minus symbol in it.I have not changed one setting, only started to import images from the R5 now. Not sure if I'm su
Using just LrC today on my macbook, I moved about 150 recent photos into different collections and deleted some to tidy up a bit. A couple hours later, one of the photos is stuck in the "uploading" sync type as per the sync status below:In the LrSyncDiagnostic/lrsync_log.html :: Binary Uploader section I see (2) entries related to IMG_2390 as below. Any tips on what I should do next to correct this issue with the sync engine? I'm curious what the binaryType==xmp_develop is. I believe *.XMP files were used years ago to save changes in the same directory as the photo, but I don't see *.XMP files in the local folder when IMG_2390 is. 7: _id: 315a7eec1a084d6dadf8eeb4f404d266 binaryType: xmp_develop captureDate: 2024-08-19T07:16:38-07:00 fileName: IMG_2309.jpg fileSize: 4682 isReadyToUpload: 0 typeSubtype: asset/image 8: _id: 315a7eec1a084d6dadf8eeb4f404d266 binaryType: proxy captureDate: 2024-08-19T07:16:38-07:00 fileName: IMG_2309.jpg fileSize: 817792 isReadyToUpload: 0 typeSubtype:
All my images are being corrupted and ruined by Lightroom when they are imported. They are fine when opened in Photoshop but when I import them to Lightroom they are being completely ruined. If I scroll it starts doing this to all my images. Totally corrupts them. These are Cannon Cr2 raw files. Moved from Lightroom CC — The cloud-based photo service to Lightroom Classic CC — The desktop-focused app
Hello I had lots of problem in the new version with my existing library lots of photos where missing after the upgrade , I'm on Mac what could be the cause ? secon i see that the sliders are straight in the middle , compare to former version silders were all over the place without any edit , I'm using Nikon Z6II , is ther a new interpretation of the NEF files? Addition to this concerning raws , with Nikon we can create and use custom picture contols , wich are settings kind of profiles . Why are these overwritten by Lr now ? It was not the case on previous version , or perhaps i did not see it well. In my case custom curve and saturation adjustment in camera .it's visible in the file preview in LR, it's reflected by the Nikon software also, but as soon as I display it or want to edit , it's replaced by something else . What can be done ? can NCP file be added somewhere as preset ?
I am trying to edit an existing rename template for use in Lightroom in order to rename images as they are imported. I am using the Library>Rename Photos dialogue to do this. Once a pre-existing rename template is selected, I try to edit it and save as new template. However, once I click into the text field and try to add text, the dialogue box closes unexpectedly allowing no changes to be made or saved. Recently updated to MacOS15.0 Lightroom version 13.5.1
Can you add more than 2 external development programs in Lightroom Classic. I have Photoshop and Topaz Photo AI listed, but I used to have in addition Luminar Neo as well. Now it seems limited to only 2 programs......Anyone kows how to add more?
In March I got a new computer. All files were located on my NAS so the installation of LightroomCC and transfer of the catalog went very smoothly. I've alwasy imported my photos to the NAS with path NAS\Photos\Year\Month. I've noticed now in the folders section when looking at the library, I now have the NAS\Photos folder listed twice. The second one starts in April of this year which is when I got the new computer. How do I get rid of this second listing and get the April - all future years and months to display under the folder all other photos are in? See attached picture.
I have been making books for many years using the LRC Book Module with a great deal of success. A few days ago I wanted to update a previous book I made with some additional photos and text so I opened this file and transfered some additional photos to my collection. I then made various changes in layout, added photos and changed text. We then closed the program and backed it up as I needed to make additional changes at a later date. When I went back, looking at the Grid view, and tried to open this book is seemed as if all of the text was populated but only a few of the photos appeared. Then the program seemed to have gotten hung up and eventually stopped loading. I have closed LR and turned the computer on and off all with no sucess. Now I cannot get to my book and need some guidence in what to do.
In my LR classic catalog (50000 items), I have synced 77000 to the LR cloud to edit with the new versions on the go. Recently the sync got extermely slow and I cannot figure out why. I can observe progress in syncing but it is unbearably slow, also LR classic gets extremely slow to use at the same time. Can anyone advise me where I can find any logs on the sync progress and LR classic itself to see myself where the problem lies? Thanks in advance.Adrian
Version 13.5.1. To compare severals images in comparison mode i select these images in library and press N for comparison mode. New bug: When rating one image with a number or a color, the same number or color is applied to all pictures in the comparison. Now it is impossible to apply different numbers or colors to the images in the comparison.
Hello, I have one LR catalog (on external SSD drive) and my original images are on a hard drive. LR told me that there was a fault in my catalog, closed it and repaired it when I opened it again. Afterwards my smartpreviews and edit history was not available anymore whe I opened the LR catalog. ps: I use the smart previews so I can edit on different computers
After I export an image from Lightroom, Topaz launches itself?Even if I did not use Topaz on that image. How do I stop this automatic start by Topaz Photo AI? Any help greatly appreciated.
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a new computer build for LRc and photoshop, running normal MS apps too. A vendor I do buisness with is recommending the new AMD Ryzen 7-9700X specs are below. Im also going to get a graphics card strickly for monitor support not gaming with Nivida 12gb DDR6. Installing Samsung Pro990 SSD's: 8 core Granite Ridge L2 8MB cche, L3 32 MB cache, 65 w power consumption, operation Frequency 3.8 Ghz, turbo speed 5.50 GHz, 16 processing threads, 64 bit.I would like opinion before I do. I have a Dell T3500 Workstation with an Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphics card and 24GB RAM, running Windows 10 pro x64 on a Crucial MX500 SSD. I have installed all the latest firmware and hardware/software updates I could find for Windows, Direct X and my Quadro GFX card. I installed LR CC 13.5.1 and it does run but I do get a warning message at startup stating my system is now unsupported. When I go into this version's performance page, the choice to use my Nvidia card is greyed-out.I'm not expecting miracles but I do want to maximise the performance of my Lightroom rig by running the absolutely last version of LR CC that would have supported my PC and which allows me to use my GFX card's resources.
Hey guys, I've searched all over for a solution and couldn't find any. It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes this green line is appearing either on the very top or the very bottom of the photo after exporting. It doesn't appear within Lightroom environment where I'm working on the raw file. But usually on the exported jpg (8 bit, 300 dpi). Cropping it on Photoshop doesn't help either because it will continue to appear regardless. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi all,I am an absolute beginner with Adobe products and image processing in general, so please bear with me.I found heaps of our three children's artwork in our garage. I would like to digitize them and give them to the children as a lasting memory, maybe also print them as a book or so.To do this, I photographed the artworks, some of which are very large, with studio lighting on a white, lightable base. Now I want to remove the white edges from the pictures (which are all different in size and shape) and enhance/adjust them automatically. As there are really hundreds of works of art, I need a procedure that is as automated as possible, preferrable with 1 click.I am also not sure if it is better to crop the images or to remove the background? Thanks for any help!I have attached a few sample pictures.
Yesterday my Western Digital external hard drive crashed. I have tried retrieving data via several different methods, and come up empty. Following yesterday crash, I'm now working on rebuilding my Lightroom galleries from galleries still on memory cards. Most of these galleries are filled with already-edited photos. The external drive that crashed was JKP Passport 1. So images in Lightroom that were associated with images on that drive now understandably show up as missing.I am reimporting images from my memory cards and want to associate them with the newly created folders on my new drive, JKP Passport 2. But when I try to associate these images, I am told they are already associated with another photo in the catalog and can only be associated with one photo. They are associated with images on a drive I cannot access, however. Can anyone help me? I don't want to lose the edits I have already done. Thank you!
Olá galera! Será que alguém consegue me ajudar? Quando importo minhas fotos para o lightroom classic, elas ficam quadriculadas, não consigo visualizar em sua máxima qualidade, dificultando meu processo de seleção. O que pode estar acontecendo?

when I imported photos they do not show up in the Library view and only show up in the Develop module if I click on a specific photo. All of my existing photos show up correctly, it's only the new imports that do not show up. I looked in finder and the pictures are in the correct folder and the metadata does show correctly in the Library module, but all I see are gray boxes, no photos.
