I have recently purchased a Loupedeck CT to help control Lightroom Classic better and become more productive and accurate. Unfortunately I now find that some functions are not available on Loupedeck CT because it uses SDK (softare development kit). Many things are controllable but things like using the Alt key to improve Sharpening is not possible because Adobe has not provide SDK support for the Alt function. Loupdeck Ltd tells me they have requested SDK support for the Alt function but Adobe has not done it. This is a very important function. Loupedeck CT does a great job of making Lightroom Classic easier, faster, more accurate and more pleasant to use but without the Alt function e.g. to carry out adjustments in the Detail panel on Sharpening Amount, Radius and Masking, not to mention Luminance, it loses its strength. Please get the SDK function implemented for the Alt function
Hello there, in my workflow I keep wishing I could rotate the spot removal tool in copy mode. Sometimes the source I pick is just perfect except that it would have to be rotated a bit to fit perfectly. How about that?
Is it possible to add indicators to the Tools section of the develop panel to indicate that spot healing, red eye tool, gradient, radial and adjustment brush etc have been applied to a photo? (Did not include crop tool because you can show that information via the info overlay but would be nice for this tool too)When going through multiple photos and using the PREVIOUS button it can get to point where you forget that for example a spot healing adjustment was made several photos back. This adjustment may not be applicable to the 7th photo in sequence that you are editing but was ok for previous ones.It is time consuming to remember to have to click on each individual tool then look for adjustment pins or click tool reset to be sure that adjustment has not be inadvertently been copied from a previous photo. (Especially if the photo editing sessions are done days apart) This is not too much of a problem if you use SYNC on multiple photos as you deselect unwanted items but when using PREVI
Please consider adding to the print templates the ability to add the filename to the custom print template and a "design" feature to the contact sheet template(s). Currently, you can design your custom template, but cannot put the filename underneath the image and contact sheets cannot be "designed". This would be very helpful for print / pdf catalogs generated in Lightroom
I want to cull and edit photos in a temporary working catalog before adding them to my main catalog/s. Unfortunately, the auto import features is either enabled or disabled. I'd really like to only auto-import into one catalog. I have a "drop folder" setup that automatically retrieves images from my phone, which automatically syncs to OneDrive, and I also drag-and-drop images from my cameras to the monitored folder. If I remove the target import folder from the non-temporary catalog, Lightroom adds it back automatically without a prompt. Another option would be to have the option to share/sync a folder between catalogs. I've done some testing and you have to manuall refresh metadata to see changes made within another catalog. This gets pretty messy if you forget to do this and edit the same photo in both catalogs. I'm pretty sure others would benefit from such a folder. Another use case was would be a portfolio catalog that contained designated p
Hey Adobe developers! You probably don't hear this much but Apple Silicon Mac users are *really* excited about Lightroom running so extremely well in native mode. The speed improvements are massive. For example, I work with 2GB raw DNG files (400megapixel Fuji GFX cameras) and things that took 6 and 2 minutes before now take 4 and 1 seconds. It's a life changing improvemnt - thanks for working so hard to make this transition possible! Tethering however requires that we reboot under Rosetta. Those of us in the cultureal heritatge artwork documentation community are shooting 100+ megapixel cameras all day long. While Rosetta is really quite impressivly fast, it's a bummer to not be able to enjoy the native speeds while shooting. For example, after taking a picture one must zoom into 100% and check focus, and this is far faster when running in native mode. So this is just a reminder in case someone forgot, or lowered the priority on making tethering native. We lo
I now do most of my work directly in the "Folders" area rathe than in "Collections". However, I do use "Collections" to Organize certain things like my orders for clients. I have found that I cannot drag a stack into a "Collection" from the "Folders" and the actual Stacks are not retained when I do move them into a "Collection".It would be useful if these things were retained when working and moving between the "Folders" and "Collections"
Hi.As a professional Photographer, long time Fujifilm User, and LR user since version 1 (!), i always had to deal with less than perfect X-Trans support from Adobe, with some artifacts and missing details. Enanche detail in Lightroom produce a much improved result, and with actual computer (i am on a M1pro) it's not that sluggish (about 2 seconds here to show the final result) but produce an enormous DNG file on disk. So my suggestion/request, please let me choose Enanche Method as default engine for rendering, for "live" demosaicing. it would be much better and pratical then use concurrent plugin to have a better rendering, or use Enanche Method, writing a large DNG file. thx!
Using Windows 10 onwards Lightroom titlebar appears white. Considering most of Lightroom interface is dark grey I think the titlebar should be themed the same way it is on Photoshop. Maybe even integrating the menubar just as it is in Photoshop
More features as in text boxes and as many as needed to be placed anywhere. The text boxes with color fill and opacity. Text type, color of text and opacity. With the text boxes and text have each able to have it's own color and opacity. When sizing the image for print have the ability to size outside of the boundries and yes obvious the out of boundry wont be printed. This being able to drag outside alows for zooming in and drag image to position it. I have to bounce back and forth to develop module to crop and postion the part of the image I want printed. The main reason this dragging outside the boundries is I usually put 3 to 8 images on one print, so getting the part of each image within each cell would be easier. Better yet when you right click a cell an option to crop that image within the print module and it does not save the cropping outside of the print module. The whole modual maybe just needs to be redone with more options. An issue with a feature at bottom 'Print Adjustmen
Having only one reference photo locked is tiresome, eveytime I need another reference photo (for example black and white, or another lighting situation) I need to exit my develop folder, find folder with reference, switch ref photo, then go back. When i need to switch back to the previous one I need to to the same. Its frustrating. It would be nice to have couple of reference photos to choose from all the time (something like locked reference photos folder) like in video color grading programs (Davinci resolve for instance)
Hi Adobe , Could we get a 1 click Auto levels in the tone curve tool please . would save so much time and effort . We could use it as an import preset . Or we could also have the option to choose what sliders Auto Tone will use ( like in capture one ) .for exemple , I woud love to use white and black sliders but not highlight and shadow that I find too extreme for my taste . many thanks boris
Issue: Lightroom Classic Version Number: 12.0.1 OS Version Number: Windows 11 21H2 Steps to reproduce: Ensure you have built previews for all your photos. Enable "Show photos in subfolders". Select a root folder that contains most of your photos. Press "O" or the People icon to show faces. Click a person who appears in many of your photos. Open task manager to see disk activity. Expected result: Disk activity should be high on the drive that contains your catalog previews file. This would mean that Lightroom uses the previews file to quickly generate thumbnails and search results, especially if it's on an SSD rather than a hard disk. Actual result: Disk activity is high on the drive that contains the original photo files. For me, because my original files are on a hard disk, the thumbnail generation and searching of faces is very slow.
It would be nice to be able to select which version of Photoshop is opened in Lightroom Classic when I select "Edit in Photoshop 2023..." or open as layers etc.. This is actually much needed when Beta or multiple versions are installed because LRC will auto select something and looks like the Beta is then preferred because it has higher version number. It can also actually become a problem with the beta version numbers as they may overlap, it came a problem for me when Lightroom didn't want to open anything else and when I uninstalled Beta, then LRC didn't see Photoshop anymore and the edit in photoshop selection was grayed out even I had the latest 24.0.0 installed and operational. and the only way to remedy from that situation was to install Beta back. Well, I later learned that this probably was the Beta that messed up the opening system because it looked like the Beta was not actually closing when exiting the application but it was still there in the process list in taskbar, so whe
Please consider adding an option to display dates next to photos in the Import Photos and Videos dialogue, either under the filename or in a list view. Use case: I want to see at a glance which photos are from today or from the last few days, so I can import just those, and ignore older photos. Known workarounds that aren't ideal: A. Mouse-over photos to find where the latest batch starts. I have to keep mousing over images to hunt, and that's much slower than being able to read dates at a glance. B. Wait for all thumbnails to load, then skim by thumbnail I mostly do this today, but it can be slow, especially for my Fuji RAW photos C. Just import everything and let Don't Import Suspected Duplicates sort it out I'm somewhat aggressive with culling/deleting photos, so some old photos still on my memory card may be treated as new again if I've deleted them from Lightroom I can use A and B as workarounds (C isn't workable), but it would be really nice to add sk
I share this idea, through a post I found when I was looking for the same solution. "It would be nice it was possible to create a virtual copy when dragging a photo to an existing collection. What I would like to do: I have a collection "A" with photo X, I drag X to collection "B" and I want to hava VC of X in collection B. What I currently do: in collection "A" I select X, make a VC, drag the VC to B, delete the VC from A. So it would be an "addition" to the option that let us add virtual copies when creating a new collection. In my imagination this would happen when I drag and drop a photo and hold some modifier key." - It would be very useful for me to be able to add a virtual copy of photo A to existing collections. So I could have a collection for each type of crop format more quickly. - https://feedback-readonly.photoshop.com/conversations/lightroom-classic/lightroom-classic-add-option-to-create-a-virtual-copy-of-photo-when-adding-to-an-existing-collection/5f92d698c17a060f8ebe8e08
I have 2 monitors and generally have Lightroom Classic in one and a full-screen 'Loupe - Normal' view in the other. What would be really useful (for me, at least!) is the option to display the map showing all of the GPS-tagged photos in the second monitor. This could be included in the right-click list of options for the second window display contents in the bottom left of the screen, just above the filmstrip. Thanks for all the new features! Mo
Hi everyone, really enjoying the latest update to v12, however just one thing is bugging me. Anyone know of a keyboard shortcut to get back to the 'Edit' slider/main panel? Can't see one and can't find the answer playing around, or with a search. Not a major issue, but if I'm using the masks or the crop panels it would be good to have a quick press key to get back to the Edit panel. I know there's shortcuts for the Crop, Heal, and masking panels so it would be great to have one for 'Edit' too as the most used. Anything that helps speed up the workflow! Thanks!
I'd love to see a section in all areas of Presets in Lightroom for Recently Used Presets. For example, I use a set of different Export presets that are stored based on the final upload destination.. like my own Instagram or for a club. There's often a few variations, so I'm often scrolling a lot to find them. I do use some more than others, so these would appear in a recently used list more frequently than others, meaning a shorter scroll. For those with a lot of Develop Presets, it means accessing their more recent ones faster as well.
Hey Adobe! I recently discover this form for submit the idea/suggestion. First of all, the latest update are awesome! Especially the AI masks, suuuper! I just need a little option and then Lightroom will be perfect for me. I need to import ONLY the LOCKED and/or STARRED photos directly from my card. I ask for this feature every time Lightroom asked me for a feedback but never come. Is it possible? thanks and have a great day! Marco
The Edit/No-Edit filter in Library is useful, however if you apply develop settings at import like Lens Corrections to all files (which I do), then all files are technically edited, but then if you'd want to search for files that you haven't for instance had their white balance or exposure edited (and therefore truly edited from baseline), you can't because all edits are lumped together. It would be nice if there was some way to filter which edits you'd like to filter for. Very niche request probably, but I would find it very helpful.
I would like to propose a substantial update to the spot healing/clone tool in LRC. It's BY far the number one reason to leave LRC and use other tools. It does not do any analysis of contrast and lines near or in the marked area to heal or clone.ESPECIALLY if you wish to remove something along the border of the image using healing it is useless. The repair proposed, always fades away from black outside the image in the first many pixels. The same happens inside an image if you mark something along a contrasty line. Please fix this so the tools understands lines and proposes heals with the same contrast/line as the surroundings.
When we import images into Lightroom Classic we can have the option to have the images backed up in another location. If we had the option to backup in two locations, then we would immediately have 2 backups instead of one. If we are on location and only have one backup, then we are not as secure as we once thought. Having two locations for backups would give another level of comfort to those of us working professionally.
An option to select the Floor would be extremely useful especially for studio portrait work in the same way as the background select works. Thanks
I have pitched this in other forums.. I HAVE READ the How to Optimize Lightroom performance and acted on every item and then some I have figured out on my own as well as read elsewhere. Though through all of this one of the things I cannot still do to both better manage diskspace and performance is seperate my Previews.lrdata file from the Catalog.lrcat. My previews, images, program, and catalog themselves are stored off on separate drives.. but the previews file is still full of images and over 60 gigs at the particular moment and I regularly purge it off down to 0. I would like to be able to put all of these items in separate drive locations if I choose. Today I have items 1-4 in separate locations. 1) Program / OS 2) RAW Images 3) Catalog.lrcat 4) Previews 5) Previews.lrdata Christopher
