Lightroom Classic

The overlay color is selectable, but always the same for all masks. I would like to have a separate color selection per mask.

I'd love to use at least Darken / lighten brush blending modes when using healing cloning tool they are so useful when healing /cloning . thank  you !    

1. Why no 'white balance' option in the metadata section when in the library module. I would think it's possible in the 'camera info' section. Up top in develop section all that is listed is 'as shot'. I change my white balance sometimes depending on lighting. I would like camera info to list, daylight, tungsten, auto, or whatever I shot in for each frame, even if it's a K choice and a number like 4500 k.   2. Wish Adobe would enhance the 'grain' section of LrC. Seems it could emulate 'film grain' in the develop tab a bit more. Like I hate how it adds grain to pure white areas. I kinda like how Capture 1 has options for film grains. Adobe hasn't changed this since it was first implemented. Seems like it could/should be improved.   ok. other than this, I'm pretty ok with LrC these days.

Like I suspect many other people, many of my photos are sorted into folders by date.  In the Grid View, it would be very helpful to have a Capture Time option available for the Compact Cell Extras and Expanded Cell Extras.  Currently there is a Capture Date/Time option.  But when you're looking at the grid view for a folder for a particular date, the date is superfluous information and it takes a little bit longer for the eye to pick out the time from the combo date/time.  

Hi,   Since Apple released Notebooks with "Retina" Displays that have a very high resolution and the size of UI Elements in Applications and the OS was not the typical size anymore I noticed a strange behavior in Lightroom. I use and 27" 4K Display and use typical 150 %or 125% Scaling in Mac OS so that I can read Icons an text. When I use 100% scaling everything is very small. Lightroom seems to act a little strange. When using OS scaling values between 100% and 200% Lightroom seems to render with 200% regardless of the actual value. You can see that when zooming into images in Lightroom. 200% and 100% zoom in images in Lightroom Classic are not real 100% and 200% anymore. Lightroom seems to expect that the actual resolution of the Display is always 200% of the Scaled version.  I give an Example: My 27" screen has 3840x2160 pixel. I use 150% Scaling in MacOS. So UI elements have the same size like an 27" screen with 2560x1440 pixels but it still is very sharp due to the good

The new Target/Selection distinction for metadata introduced in LR 11 is documented in the "View Metadata for Target Photo" section here https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/metadata-basics-actions.html    The documentation falls a little short, because this also affects editing. So, for example, if you select all the images in a shoot, and edit the IPTC Sublocation in the metadata panel, the field will only be changed for one of the images if  "Target Photo" is active.   The solution is to switch to "Selected Photos" before making the edit. This is not really a problem once you know about the change, but "Target Photo" is the default for the new feature. That's a bad choice, because it changes the metadata editing behavior that has existed in LR pretty much forever.

Now that we have a new Masking panel that can be dragged to a new position it would be helpful if it opened where I last left it, e.g. on my second monitor screen. And if that can be done with the Mask panel could it be extended to other panels as in Photoshop, ideally with saved workspaces like Photoshop.It would be slightly different in Lightroom Classic due to the multiple modules but each could have its own saved workspace.

This would be visually helpful.  Back rename a Mask in the History eg. I generate a Mask then go on to other tasks. I return to that initial Mask and rename it, but it doesn't rename it in the actual History nor each change applied to that Mask in the History, but rather only adds that task of renaming, to the History.

Hopefully this is self explainatory but I will elaborate. (Mac OSX Catalina - LRC 11.0.1) During import, I occasionally get the 'destination drive is full...' and the only option is to press ok. At this point, I clear space from my drive, empty the trash and hit 'ok'. The import is nonetheless cancelled and the smart preview generation begins. I then have to go back into the import module to reimport the new photos, wait for the preview thumbnails to generate on a card or phone that can have hundreds of photos or just blindly hit import. This isn't ideal as I can no longer use the 'previous import' filter to apply a mix of metadata tagsor assign different collections on subsets of photos in one swoop.  It would be nice to just pause and resume when the drive space is resolved.

I would like to see the option to start tethered session added to the right click menu on a session folder to easily resume shooting to an existing project folder.   As a commercial shooter I often will shoot products over at least two separate sessions. When I start a tethered session for a new project a folder is created. To continue in the existing folder at a later time I currently have to right click a folder and select rename to copy the folder name then start a tethered session and paste it in as the session name to continue adding to that project folder.  Having the option to right click the folder and start a tethered session into an existing folder would be a huge time savings as well as reduce errors.

Hi people,01. I have a suggestion for Adobe team to insert luma curves in the LR and ACR. 02. For camera profiles to give us the option to choose Base Tone Curves contrast option. (A curve that is integrated into the camera profile).For example:When I choose a standard camera profil  (my camera profile not adobe, canon standar, or portrait etc.) I gets too much contrast, the shadows are too dark and saturated (I tested other cameras as well).So in the beginning, we lose the ability to make the most of the dynamic range of our cameras.So make it an option to choose between: Strong contrast, contrast, slight contrast and linear.By adding this option  sliders that already exist the contrast, highlight, shadows, whites, blacks will have a greater/better effect and maximize the dynamic range of our cameras. So, no confusion, I'm talking about the contrast already integrated into the camera profile by adobe engineer.  For now, I fix this deficiency by

My idea is for some sort of an addition to the software that would allow me to not have to keep updating the location of moved files in my library so that I can continually work on them seamlessly. Here is an example of my workflow and presumably that of others:   I am a photographer. For each photo shoot I do I have a directory with the models name and the date of that shoot. Within that director I have several other directories, RAW (to hold the raw files) JPEG (if I also shot in jpeg) EDITS (where the edited photos are stored) and VIDEO (should I have shot video, BTS, etc on this shoot). This never changes and keeps me organized.   When I shoot and begin the initial editing process I always work off of the high speed internal SSD or a high speed extrenal SSD should I have been shooting while travelling. The directory structure remains the same. Eventually I move these folders to larger and slower storage for archiving but frequently go back to do new edits etc. When doing

Hello,   I just found an issue on the latest LR version: if you select all parameters except the reframing when synching parameters to a virtual copy which is differently reframed, the brush is not copying to the right place 🙂   Didier

If you are working with an unfamiliar group of faces, you need a reference document to refer to when LRC doesn't match (e.g. a profile).   If you have made the effort to label each person in a project, the only way that you can see the Named People is in the main screen.   To assist the workflow you want to be able to iterate through each photo on the main screen and with the face mode enabled be able to draw out a rectangle, then look up the possibilities. If it is a profile, LRC won't have picked the face, so you have to manually choose this. If you don't know who the people are, but have had some of the photos labelled, you want to be able to see the labelled faces - the text pop up doesn't cut it.   In a two monitor configuration, having a grid of named faces on the second monitor would speed things up.   It is super cumbersome right now to draw the square then go back to Faces, look up a face and then return to fill in the text pop up menu.   There are som

Many professional photographer uses Capture One for tethering instead of the Lightroom Classic because of the ways better workflow and the ways more options they has on the program.    What we need is: - "JPG Only" mode while shooting raw + jpg - Show the newest picture automaticly - iPad Pro M1 support  - Stabile system without camera disconnectings  - Tethering to one file instead of collecting 2-300 photos to a folder. - Export option to the photoshop (starting with the camera raw window)    

The projects that I shoot are quite "site specific". Face detection can provide fairly accurate detection that can help find an image. I will shoot a particular site several times a year. The faces in one site will not appear at a another.    The way that unknown faces are classified automatically shows that the pool of faces is all faces that have ever been recognised by Lightroom.   This doesn't match the workflow. For a given site, there is a closed subset of faces that it could be. Drawing from the universe of all faces doesn't make any sense.   So the suggestion is having user defined face collections where I can specify which group of faces should associated with a given folder. This means that a group of faces can be associated with several folders.   I also know if I'm working on a new project with faces that I've never photographed before. It would be useful to be able to flag this so names aren't associated automatically and incorrectly. You end up co

The SDK provides no way for a plugin to flip a photo horizontally or vertically. There is photo:rotateRight() and photo:rotateLeft() but no analogous methods for flipping.   My Any Crop plugin would use this to provide a command to restore a photo to its original orientation.  It has a command for doing that with rotation but not flipping.   My Copy Settings plugin's Extract Masks command would use this to extract the masks of flipped photos.  

It would save me a ton of hassle in my work flow to be able to access the Sort Order menu from within the Develop module.

Please allow browser autofil when prompting for password when logging into desktop apps. So annyojng having to type userid and password this day and age. 

The sort function is quite limited for the albums/folders organization section (date added/alphabetical) It would great if we could have the option to drag albums to the top  that we are working on (or in any order) without having to rename the folders each time.

On the primary display, right clicking on screen or pressing 'Z' will toogle between last two screen sizes, for example FIT and 100%.  On secondary display, you get the same action by right clicking on screen, but I cannot find any keyboard shortcut.   My idea (request) is to provide a toogle kb shortcut similar to the 'Z' for the primary display.  An alternative would be to have 'Carl+alt+shift+0' (100%) toggle between 100% and what 'fit/fill' is set at.    

Lightroom CC really needs to separate pure whites and pure blacks from highlight and shadows for colour grading. The colour keeps bleeding into the blacks and Whites. A slider that will control how far into the highlights or shadows you get into. Like a 'luminance range' if you will. That could actually help the mid tone range as well. This is quite basic actually. I actually miss the split toning. It was way cleaner. It was an older idea but it was better executed. This is just what I think. Not a pro. But I probably enjoy editing more than taking photos. Lightroom is probably my favourite app period. A legit fan. If any of the developers happen to see this please look into it. Hi Adobe   Lightroom is great, tethering with my Canon 5DS works very well, but that pesky tethering dialog/control bar keeps popping up in the middle of my screen when I start up a new thered session. I have to move it to a sensible place - and there are not many sensible place for it that don't get in the way of something   Could there be an option to have the tethering control panel appear in the right-hand panel, above Histogram, Quick Develop, etc? It could have a collapse flippy triangle the same way as the other panels on the right.    Would be more consistent with the rest of the interface I reckon.   Regards, Colin Thomas
