Lightroom Classic

Hello,I would like to forward a feature request.It would be extremely useful having a possibility to stretch Source column while choosing pictures to import. We can only stretch columns in library and develop module, but not in import window. Sometimes I cannot fully see folder path, because the column is simply too narrow. Please, see the screenshot - I used red rectangle to mark the area I mean.Another handy feature would be to paste the entire folder path, after copying it from file/folder explorer. I work on Windows 10, but I guess ot could also work this way on other systems. It could make accessing picture folders much faster, provided that we already have opened them in our system.Please, consider improving this aspect.

Be able to assign hotkeys (such as ctrl+c and ctrl+v) to copy and paste certain settings from one photo, and other hotkeys (maybe ctrl+6 and ctrl+7) to copy and paste different settings from a different photo.    This would make it so that when editing 600+ photos that include 2 or more cameras, you don't have to go back and forth between copying and pasting settings. I am aware that you can organize the photos by camera type and then just edit one camera at a time. However the reason this also isn't an ideal solution is because sometimes multiple cameras are capturing the same moment, and I don't necessarily know if I will for sure want to keep all the photos from that one moment, so I need to be able to see the photos from all cameras while editing. Anyways, thank you to anyone who read through all of this! =D

Can you require a double click to hide the thumbanil strip? I often click it by mistake and it takes about 5 - 10 seconds for the strip to hide and then reappear. It's annoying. Thanks!

Would be great to save the develop settings of the virtual copies as xmp files as well. Often we make color & BW versions or use different presets for the same image. Why not to save all the versions either in one xmp or as separate xmps? So that we could share it with a retoucher, for instance, without converting to several DNGs. Or in case we lose the catalogue file, we'd preserve not only 1 version of the processing.

why is Adobe incapable or unwilling to implement a more powerful Ken Burns effect feature set in Lightroom slideshows?It seems incredibly simple to do with the resources Adobe posesses,I firmly believe that the Ken Burns effect is one of the most powerful and evocative tools in a slide show presentation. The current implementation of this in LIghtroom feature is laughably limited.Common Adobe! you can do better - Apple's Aperture had a far superior Ken Burns capability some 10 years ago.

Let LR users enable auto-leveling of images using acceleromoter data in raw files.   I shoot a bunch of hand-held, and would absolutely enable this on EVERY import.    Bonus: After a non-symmetrical crop, adjust image auto-leveling to compensate. 

User backs up their photos AND their catalog with Google Drive Google Drive does not allow to specify file's extensions to exclude anymore. User can just choose folder to be backed up. Because of that user is forced to back up the whole "Lightroom catalog" folder and therefore Google Drive will backup lrdata files, which does not make sense. If we could have the catalog (*.lrcat file) being alone in a folder, that would make it easy, straightforward and simple. -------- Right now, each time I just open LRC, Google Drive will automatically save tens of useless Gibabites instead of just the catalog when it gets updated.   Thanks

Hi ! After removing/deleting a photo from a colection, I would like to go to the next photo from colection. Now, after clicking on "Delete from Disk", the message is "No photo selected" and I have to search again the collection to find the next picture. Thank you !

LRC 10.4 Mac 11.5.2I would LOVE to be able to add a third line of metadata to each thumbnail, so I could see the file size in KB/MB. Now, I come from Bridge, and I'm SUPER new to LRC (because Bridge doesn't run natively on my Mac Mini M1, Lightroom does, and M1 has been out for a year), and there may be a good reason for this, but if you can see the dimensions, maybe you can tell the file size. I can usually tell if the dimensions indicate an image that's big enough, but that's too much thinking. LOLAs a graphic designer and web designer (and photographer, somewhat), the image file size I need for a brochure is going to be exponentially higher than for an image going onto a website. To be able to quickly reference the file size would be invaluable.

There are two important things I miss in Lightroom: 1) With the selective tools like the brush I would like to have 6 buttons that I can assign individually with the functions I need to switch quickly between your individual presets.   2) When pasting copied settings (incl. local adjustments) it is very annoying that you first have to click on the brush in the new image to move it with a second click. It would be much faster for the workflow if I could click the button for the brush and drag it immediately.

It's another huge event and due to my short attention span I once again have managed to press escape instead of the tilde key and will have to go through a few hundred pictures once again. Would you please be kind and make the import window a little more difficult to close by accident? Or should I just find a better workflow to avoid these kind of things in the future? It has come to my realization that a fair number of feature requests could be satisfied simply by allowing users to define custom metadata *without* having to install a 3rd party plugin. All too often users want to "make notes" about a photo, or associate photos somehow, or record some photo status... Some use keywords and existing IPTC text fields as work-arounds, but what's really needed is a way for users to define custom metadata dynamically, to include types: - Text - Enumerated Set of Values (dropdown lists). - Boolean (true/false) - Date/Time - Numeric This can be done now with plugins like CustomMetadata (although all items are treated like text in smart collections and library filters - a sore point for me), but I think this needs to be built into Lightroom. PS - *Please* at least fix the SDK to support all data types. *** - Maybe an even better idea: package a Custom Metadata plugin with Lightroom, pre-installed in Lightroom, so users have the capability AND have a plugin tha

It would be nice to put some more useful features to shoot tethered through LR because compared to Capture one or Phocus, Lightroom looks very amateur and i's too slow.

Working on a plugin to speed up some of my keywording.  Is there any way to programatically assign a specific keyword to the be the keyword that the painter tool will use?   Thanks Ian.

It would be great to have the option to have a timer (5 seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds) for the tethering. When i take some table top photos i need my both hands in the photo. A timer would help.

I love using Adjustment Brushes and find myself wanting to use the same settings over and over, so I started saving them as Presets. This is a huge time saver but could be improved. To speed up workflow, I was hoping to remove the ones at the top of the list, but after some research was disappointed to discover it is not possible. It hurts the usefulness of this great feature when I have to click and scroll past the list of unused presets every time. If the stock ones can't be deleted, please allow users to rename them to something more meaningful. Or allow users to reorder them, so they can be put at the bottom of the list and the custom can be prioritized to the top of the list.   --------------------------------------------- Moved to Bugs sub forum

It would help me to see a number percentage (not just a slider) of the current task done so I can see if it ever changes without having to get the program to minimize to the taskbar. Which it can't always do when LrC is locked up on larger tasks or newer things (such as enhanced picture creation) 🙂  I still am forced to use the power switch when LrC won't let Task Manager take over so I can get some things rolling again.  I don't like having to resort to that if I just didn't see the slider bar move to the right by one pixel indicating it was progressing at its usual pace.  It's cumbersome.  And LrC must be aware of the numerical percentage it has completed if it shows it on the Windows taskbar entry.

I would like to recommend a Lightroom feature that from my experience I think would be very useful.   There is currently no way to set a custom zoom percent in Lightroom Classic. Photoshop can do this, but the image quality is diminished compared to Lightroom. It also takes a very long time to load a large file from Photoshop into Lightroom. This feature would be very helpful for photographers whose end goal is print, as we would be able to see exactly what our photo looks like at a certain size, rather than guessing. Cropping to an equivalent zoom size does not work because the image quality is diminished compared with a percent zoom from the original high res file.Another related idea is to have Lightroom automatically set a zoom amount to show what the image looks like at 300 PPI, rather than us guessing with the default zoom amounts. I hope Lightroom adopts this feature! I think it would be very valuable and hopefully is an easy fix.

Hello there amazing engineering team,   I use Adobe LR, PS, and Pr professionally and personally and I love every minute of it.     I'd like to make a suggestion to your awesome team so that they can implement it in future updates to make every single one of your users happy NO DOUBT, guaranteed, EVEN YOURSELF... It's one of those:  OH RIGHT ! moments. The way signatures is integrated now is very time consuming and also quite frustrating as it just takes countless amount of time. I would like to suggest a super simple solution: add signature in the develop module right after Calibration, this can be as a overlay that can also be copied/pasted much like the presets. Signature can be added for each photo as I am editing with perfect border without needing to use other software (PT Watermark or Photoshop) and especially on larger RAW files it takes quite a long time. The "Set as master" option should be available when in the Develop tab, not just when in the Library tab. I'm in the Develop tab when I'm making my edits and deciding which one I prefer. I shouldn't have to switch tabs just to change which image is the master copy.  It would also be helpful for Set As Master to be an option when I right click on the image strip at the bottom (where I can already select to make a virtual copy), rather than having to go to the top menu bar.

I am missing the possibility to open a PSDT-file in LrC, as this shoud prevent overwrite of the original.PSDT is not recognized by LrC

Hi,   Mostly a commercial photographer these days, but also have a ton of personal work, as well as hundreds of wedding.      I would like to open an old catalog from a job 5+ years ago and convert all the DNG files to JPG placing them back in the same catalog and keeping all their tags, keywords, and Library settings, etc - and blow away the DNGs.   So is there a way that I'm not finding to "export" the DNGs to JPG into the same catalog and then blow away the DNGs to save Terabytes of storage?    

  Dear Adobe Developer Team,   first of all, you are doing a great job, thank you guys!   I started to color grade film by using Da Vinci Resolve a while ago. One of my most often used features in color grading is the "memory" menu. There I can register the color adjustments of one specific clip - about 8 different styles can be registered, each one in its own slot, and, most important, can be recalled from there. When I shut down the software, all memory slots are cleared.   I am not talking about presets here!    It is like the "copy and paste" of image settings, but, and thats the point, multiplied by a few times.
