Hello,We have Streaming Server installed to stream online-seminars to the clients. We want to manually disconnect some clients during the translation while leaving others online. What is the way to do it? Clients connect to server by opening a web-page on the other web-server with embedded flash player which has the source streamer uri rtmp://our_server/live.Thank you,Olga Butygina.
I have developed an application using various FMS2 Communication Components. One of those is the Chat component. The application has various display modes (minimized, normal, maximized). These display modes require the Chat component instance to be resized and repositioned on the screen. I took the approach of having a separate frame represent each of the display modes. The problem I am having is that the Chat component won't resize or relocate from the size/position on the first frame. The visual layout isn't respected, and calling this.moveTo(x,y) has no effect either. The only way I can get the component to have the desired behavior is to comment out the last line of the Chat component actionscript:this.setSize(this._width,this._height);Of course, by doing this, the Chat component appearance is horrible. I have narrowed this down to two set assignments that occur within the setSize function. If either one, or both is called, then the co
Hello all , my first post here, so please be gentle I recently had an FMS server(running on CentOS) thrown my way, as our flash programmer left us for another position. So now i have this FMS server and not too much knowledge about it, other than how to access the admin panle and load an app and stop and restart it, which seems to be enough for now..However i am being asked to give some stats to the marketing people... They want some stats on how many users connect at different times during the day/night...But i cannot figure out how to create historical reports or graphs and such...Can someone point me to some docs that would explain how to retrieve stats like what i mentioned above? Thanks so very much and toall a great day!Rob MorinMontreal, Canada
Hi there People, How can I playback recorded .FLVs stored in my FMS3 hosting server using progressive download instead of streaming ? Thanks Alex
We purchased the Adobe Flash Media Sreaming Server 3.5.My question is, the client wants to set the buffer to 30 seconds, so if an error is encountered the live feed feed will not be interupted. Is this set from the Adobe client that is recording the video or is this a setting on the server? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks
I have multiple video streaming servers running on my LAN. For different subdomains. i.e. site1.mydomain.com site2.mydomain.com site3.mydomain.com site4.mydomain.com All the above websites have different content and are different websites. The front end to the world is apache2 on a server which has public IP. To be able to reach the streaming server I embed a javascript in HTML pages as follows Code: <embed ..... var="rtmp://site1.my_domain.com" > the problem is the website are many site1.mydomain.com site2.mydomain.com site3.mydomain.com site4.mydomain.com each on a separate server. Each of these four have their own streaming servers the front end to each of these four is apache running on gateway If I run rtmp on each of the subdomains at a different port how will I make sure a request such as rtmp://site1.mydomain.com rtmp://site2.mydomain.com goes to their respective servers. from the front end server from gateway. What do I need to handle in this c
we own multiple FMS servers, interactive and now we installeda few Streaming servers.during the install process we provide the license keyfor the Stream server's we got from the adobe representativesin our country, and all seems well until we try to move an already used VODscript to the /opt/adobe/fms/applications/vod/ folderthe script is named main.asc and replaces the main.farwhich comes with the out of the box VOD application.this script works on all Interactive servers but failsto work on the Stream servers.it simply fails silenty, no logs and no errors are written anywhere....so i thought the problem might be some feature i try to invokein the code while streaming server does not support it, so i strippedthe main.asc to be practically empty..application.onAppStart = function(){ trace("application start"); } application.onAppStop = function(){ trace("application end");}application.onConnect = function( client ) { trace("acceptin

Specifically, I want to test exactly how many connections my installed version of FMS can accept. Is there such a tool for benchmarking with FMS?
Anyone knows? This is important since if it's growing too fast there won't be enough space.

I have been using streaming Flash video but just found out that it can’t be seen in many places because Flash streams over ports 1935, 443, and 80, which are often closed by firewall. Progressive only needs port 443 so it’s more likely that it will come through firewall. What’s your experience and opinion concerning this?
After our upgrade some of our streaming media files no longer stream... I have performed an flcheck on the files in question and they are returning the following error:FLVCheck version 1.0 - Utility to validate flv and mp4 media files.Copyright (C) 2008 Adobe Systems Incorporated. All rights reserved.www.adobe.com10-08-13 15:49:07 Error: -31 Bad box hierarchy. Found a track childbox before track.Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas? At this point we have a large majority of the files that normally streamed quite normally and fine in 3.0 not streaming at all in 3.5 I hate to back out of the upgrade, but if we can not find a solution to this problem it will have to happen.-John
Hello all,Just bringing the news that FMS 3.0.6 and 3.5.4 are now available as free updates herehttp://www.adobe.com/support/flashmediaserver/downloads_updaters.htmlThis is a security release so there are vulnerability reports fixed in this build noted herehttp://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb10-19.htmlAlso do check out the release notes for this build as there are significant changes other than the vulnerability fixes. For example:Access plugin is now available to all versions of FMS including FMSSNew security policy for RPC whitelisting within Application.xml to list explicitly the RPC commands you allow and no othersCheers,Asa
Hi folks,We just shipped Xuggler 3.4 this weekend which now has the ability to record and publish RTMP streams. That means you can now write Xuggler (a Java API for encoding and decoding video) programs that can publish to FMS or record from FMS.We've worked closely with the FFmpeg team to get the core RTMP stack into that project, and have put together a tutorial on how to use FFmpeg to record or publish streams, including re-encoding media to H264/AAC while publishing. You can find that tutorial here.I thought people here would like to know.- Artwww.xuggle.com/
Helo there,i'm trying to build some kind of online radio. Therefore i'll be streaming audio (mp3) in real time.Ok, so here's my problem: i have a play-list on my server and the idea is for this play-list to play all day long, but on the client side the user can only do play and stop the music. The problem is when one music stops and the next one starts i need the server to send not only the new audio but also all the info about this file: duration, author and music name, this way my player can show a play /stop and all the info about the current music playing.Until now i've only come across with video live streaming, but very little information on how to do a live transmission of audio.ps: the only info on streaming audio that i've found so far is about audio on demand, but the way i want things to happen the client can't chose the music.any ideas?__________________thanks in advance! I am working on a website for a client. Previously they had a shared server that whenever I connected with FME, it asked for a user and password. He switched to a dedicated server, and now I can connect without a password. How can I add the username/password option back to the new dedicated server?
Hello, I'm FMS beginner (server side newbie in general)...I would like to pass password and user name to the FMS while connecting, and then communicate with php script to carry authentication task, send result back to FMS and accept or reject connection with client application depending on that result. Can I do all this in onConnect handler (pls give me a clue how if yes)? If not, is there any other way to achieve described data flow?I need to prevent any user interaction with FMS (streams publishing ect.) before identifying identity...

Let me apologize, first for being a newbie and second if this has been answered (I searched but didn't find anything, this is probably something really simple that I'm just overlooking).I'm trying to get the id3 information from an mp3 being streamed from FMS. I followed the samples I found online and am using the following client-code, which doesn't work:var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();var ns1:NetStream;nc.connect("rtmp://someserver/someapp");ns1 = new NetStream(nc);ns1.play("id3:Song"); ns1.onID3 = function (info){ trace ("triggered");}As a note the above code works fine to play the actual file (substituting mp3: for id3:, of course) it just doesn't seem to trigger the onID3 method (I've tried onId3 which is what the samples use). I am also able to view the id3 information from windows explorer and other external readers. The platform I'm ultimately targeting is Flash Lite 3.1 AS2, but I've tried various configurations and haven't had any succe
hello, I have an urgent question for the following purpose. We plan to develope a solution consisting of a sender software for streaming live video to the streaming server. Now more than one client should be able to connect to the stream of the server. Because the different clients are connected with different bandwidth rates the server should be able to convert the video stream (e.g. the video width and height, framerate and quality) on the fly. Maybe a client with a better connection than DSL should get the video in a resolution of 640x480, a DSL client should get the video in 352x288 and a client with ISDN in 176x144. Is there a possibility to do this with the FMS server on the server with server-side ActionScript? Or can I limit the requested stream size on the client side? Or anything I can do? I hope anybody can answer my question quickly, its really really urgent. Thanks in advance
