Hello frndz can anybody guides me what is the issue of gettingNetConnection.Connect.Failed.every time i make connection with FMS 3.5 developer version getting that message on client side.Actually i am making a simple chat aaplication thats why i make some code on main.asc files.but everytime i got that exception.I just want to know that what the issue is it?i m also giving amfo encoding to both netconnection object and shared object.still getting that exception.Please Please help me or guide to come out from that problem.Suggest me whetehr this is issue of wrong fms path or Asc file or something else.Thanks In Advance  Vineet osho

Ok we're a startup and currently thinking about whether to use flash media streaming server or red5, or progressive streaming with lighttpd.In order to make a decision I would like to know how many concurrent streams can flash media server server stream until one has to purchase another license. Do any of you guys have some numbers.We will be streaming mp3 at low bit rates, service will be hosted within AWS EC2 (with whatever instances are available there). So if you can post some performance specs that would be great....Oddly enough Adobe Sales does not even know the answer... I have heard rumors that high number of concurrent connections is not a really a feature that this product is developed towards.Thanks for you answers.

When user first time log into site camera start the capturing and stream is saved in application folder with the streamname(straemname.flv). then user logout and then logged in then i have to append that stream in same straemname.flv file .By this code i have done that taskcamera = Camera.getCamera();camera.setQuality(0,80);   camera.setMode(videoWidth,videoheight,15,true);camera.setLoopback(false);  video.attachCamera(camera);ns.attachCamera(camera);ns.publish(stream, "append");       But i am facing the problem when user again logged in ,the video which is saved previously start playing,I dont want start that video.I just want to show camera controlHow to solve that issue.

I have created a script for an Adobe FMS application to broadcast a playlist of video files as a live stream. (internet tv)I am now working on a custom Flash-based video player to play my stream.My question is:How do I send information from my server-side FMS application (main.asc) to the client-side video player? (e.g: title, duration of current video player)I am new to AS, so please let me know if I need to provide more clarification.

Preamble:Im picking up a dedicated server it will be CentOS and be well above the minimum req for FMS 3.5 Interactive.Question:I want to use my dedicated server for more then just the FMS. Is this possible? Basically I want to use the same server for FMS and for the file hosting of my site. Obviously I would give it a different IP but am not sure what I will need to do specifically, or if this is even possible any help would be apreciated!! Thankyou.

Does anyone know what flvcheck means when itcomes back with a duplicate box error -19?I've got a standard mp4 file with a video and audio track but I can't see any duplicate boxes. I've attached a screen grab of the structure of my file within MP4Explorer.

We are experiences a phenomena that flash clients connecting to a live (pre recoreded)stream served from FMS (we use 3.5.2), have their buffer grow out of proportion.. it is also accompanied mostly with a complete video freeze, until the browser crashes.(you can expect a crash after having more then 4000 seconds of video buffer active in memory)The more we switch streams via a playlist,the more this seems to happen,Thus, streaming long video feeds keeps the system stable, but when injectingfeeds into a main stream and switching back increases the probabilityof this happening.is there any way to prohibit the flash player from reaching enourmous buffers length's?should we try using play2?any ideas?....

We are recording live streams on a Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5.3 r824. In general, everything works fine, so there are no appliaction-issues. But sometimes (it is not reproducable yet) a stream stops recording without any notice or event in the application. All we can find is such a message in our core.log:2010-03-05 03:30:00 4747 (e)2611178 Error from libmp4.so: No Space left in the stsd box. -2010-03-05 03:30:00 4747 (e)2611423 Failed to record [...]16891_14351_RGtBCODxPR4cM8QfML9CuxqhHqutMwWX.f4v (Unknown Error). - Can anyone give me a hint, where i could start searching for the cause of this error? Hi everyone, One of my clients have tight security and they cannot access FMS using IP address but only by DNS name. I think this is some kind of proxy setting but anyhow that is the story. So, using a DNS name solved my problem? - not quite! If I use DNS name there is about 20 seconds of delay until it makes successful connection to FMS. I was able to figure out reason of this by looking at the traffic. Attempt by the client to connect to the IP address of FMS on 1935 (5+ secs wait then fail) Then Attempt by the client to connect to the IP address of FMS on 443 (5+ secs wait then fail) Then Attempt by the client to connect to the IP address of FMS on 80 (5+ secs wait then fail) Then Attempt by the client to connect using the DNS name xxx.mydomain.com to FMS on 80 (Now it works!) I understand that it tries on different ports until connection is successfully made causing delay but I cannot find any article saying it uses IP address before trying with domain name! Im running FMS on windows 2003 using the built in apache server. At random times the server will stop responding and I have to restart the service. It could take 5 min or 4 hours. I had some problems with FMS 3.5.3 apache 2.2.9, after upgrade to apache 2.2.15 the system became stable.I detect with snort a lot of apache exploit attempts.Does anyone had problems with Apache 2.2.9?Best Regards,Sérgio Henrique

Hi,Can anyone tell me whether it's possible to limit the amount of clients per application or just per server/virtualhost? There's a setting to limit bandwidth per client for applications but not maximum amount of clients as fas as I can tell.

I'm attempting to use FMIS to try and record a user's webcam as a file on the server.Saving as .flv works fine but when i use      myStream.record("mp4:"+mystreamName+".f4v");It creates the file but its only 20kb and empty.Do I require a plug-in or component?  Or do I have to record as FLV and then convert to another format?As always appreciate the help guys.BTW:  are there any IRC channels that flash professionals hang out at?  I'd like to plug into the community.Thanks again

Hi,I've been banging my head against the wall for a while with this problem. I'm developing a Flash application that is streaming multiple videos at the same time from Flash Media Server 3.5 over one netConnection. The connection is established when the application is initialized and after that all video player instances use the same netConnection object to connect to the media server. Initially this seemed a better way to do it, than using a separate connection for each videoplayer (I figured it would save some bandwidth even though I wasn't quite sure how much overhead does netConnection add to the stream, if any and how much more or less load does it cause to the mediaserver). It seems to work well when the connection to the server is fast and stable. However on slower and more unstable connections, the netConnection starts breaking up. And new netConnection can't be established in netStatusEvent handler.So my main problem now is that when the connection is closed, all the streams o

Hi guysWorking on a project for college, we need to create a simple shared whiteboard for use on an FMIS. What is the best way to go about this? We have tried, rather half-assedly, to script the whiteboard and then force it to link with the a netconnection package, but this doesn't work.Cheers

I am curious to know if anyone can point me to someone (or some company)  that I could contact about building a custom live Flash media encoder  for our website. We have a database for authentication and a list of  upcoming events with stream information (FMS URL and Stream Name) that  we want to automate into an encoder. Currently we have our customers use  Flash Media Live Encoder and copy/paste the values into the encoder,  but would prefer a solution that is more tightly integrated with our  site. Is this possible? Where should I be looking for help in this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i have install a delveopment origin server for FMS testing, it can success steam VOD through internal ip, then we move on to test external ip steaming, but if fail to connect through external ip address, our firewall is using NAT mapping for the ip address, we have enable port 80 & 1935, did we need to change to edge server? i have try to change the vhost setting, but once i change the setting, internal & external will fail to conenct it, i have modfiled these setting in default vhost.xml, did any thing i need to change it?<Mode>remote</Mode> <Anonymous>false</Anonymous> <LocalAddress>all</LocalAddress>Thanks all

Hi,I have an issue lately where the FMS 3.5 server has to be refreshed via the Administration Console because the videos stop streaming.This has to be done every 2 - 3 days.If I restart the service it does not help.I have to go into the Admin Console and click the Refresh button for it to restart.Any ideas why?cheers

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but my admin console does not appear to be working.  I have 7 different computers right now playing a 10 minute video from the FMS.  All are playing the video via http://myserver/vod/video.mp4.  I open the admin console and it is not showing any connections playing under current connections.....but there ARE 7 successful connections as I am watching them play right now.  Maybe the admin console is not set up correctly?  This forum has been amazing at answering my questions....I hope this question is no different.

Hi,I have a live streaming application using RTMP. Sometimes the playback works fine but sometimes it stops without any trace or errors in the log file, while still appearing as a connected client. Has anyone encountered such or similar behavior?Thanks!

I can stream files in the root of a NAS drive (/nas_dir), but not in any of the sub folders (/nas_dir/sub/). FMS has read/write permission to all the files on the NAS but all i get is "stream not found" when I access anything in the sub folders (streams play fine from the root of the NAS)FMS is running on rh5.4Any feedback is appreciated.Thanksjason
