Hi. We have the Flash Media Interactive Serve 3.5. Is there an automated way to strip the audio from video files and stream on FMIS? Thanks.
Hello, Ive tried converting the SharedObject tutorial [http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/sample_apps.html] provided by Adobe from AS2 to AS3. When one client moves the ball, the other client should be able to see the ball moving on another swf, and vice versa. The AS2 one worked fine with my flash media server 3.5 and wampp server on. When I tried the AS3 one, the sharedObject cannot sync, even though the connection was successful and the sharedObject "position" was created in the server. Can anyone help me solve the problem? stop();var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();nc.connect("rtmp://localhost/myapplication");//check whether connection is successfulnc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, onstatus1); function onstatus1 (event:NetStatusEvent): void{ trace("Level: " + event.info.level + "\nCode: " + event.info.code); }//create and connect the sharedObjectvar ball_so = SharedObject.getRemote("position", nc.uri, fal
Hello!I've been trying to find a solution for my problem, but really cant find the real one. Here is my situation:I have Centos 5.4 Linux dedicated server with WHM (Cpanel).I installed FMS, and its installation directory is:opt/adobe/fmsMy box has one shared ip + 5 additional ones.I know that FMS and Apache don't like to share port 80, therefore, I did bind FMS to a specific ip in fms.ini file.ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT = xxx.142.17.133:1935,80In WHM, I told Apache to "unbind" from that IP.I think that this is a perfect setup, but nothing seems to be working.Where do I start from here? I know that I should copy admin swf file to some other place on machine and test it, which I did, and rtmp is not woking.I'm confused how to tell fms where are all the sample files, since opt/adobe/fms directory is in my shell, and not binded to any ip.PLEASE HELPTHANK YOU!!!!!
We have just migrated our FMS install and application to a new quad core linux server and have found that the audio is now distorted and warbly even though it is still using the original files and application that worked fine on the old sever. We are running a live stream from a server side playlist and the audio seems to warble and distort all the way through. When the flv files are played localy though they sound perfect, it is only when they stream that they are distorted. They are encoded to 400kbps video bit rate so I dont think thats the issue. The stream video also sometimes skips a lot and then fast forwards really quick as if its trying to catch up. The audio is a main constant issue though. This is a link to a video screen capture of the problem so you can here it. http://www.matt-adamson.com/fmsExample.wmv Does anyone know what might be causing this as we are totaly stumped and have a closing deadline. Thanks!
I'm attempting to install and run FMS on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system. At one point, it did function properly, but now it will not stream video at all, and I keep getting a constant stream of errors. No changes were made to the FMS configuration to make it stop working. Attempting to load it in console mode results in the following:-bash-3.2$ ./fmsmaster -consoleAdobe Flash Media Server (Master)Console mode.FMS detected IPv6 protocol stack!FMS config <NetworkingIPv6 enable=false>FMS running in IPv4 protocol stack mode!Host: uberserver IPv4: 127.0.0.1Server starting...Edge (13199) started, arguments : -edgeports ":1935,80" -coreports "localhost:19350" -conf "/opt/adobe/fms/conf/Server.xml" -adaptor "_defaultRoot_" -name "_defaultRoot__edge1".Core (13202) started, arguments : -adaptor "_defaultRoot_" -vhost "_defaultVHost_" -app "registry" -inst "registry" -tag -console -conf "/opt/adobe/fms/conf/Server.xml" -name "_defaultRoot_:_defaultVHost_:reg
Hi there,I've been having troubles finding documentation on how to use these 2 files:allowedHTMLdomains.txtallowedSWFdomains.txtCan someone point me to some documentation? I'd need some background about how they work. Thanks,Jeff
My problem and I SWFVerification enabled on the server and saw that FMLE does not connect more, I looked for some explanation and I saw that if that is enabled for SWFVerification you must also change UserAgentExceptions tag <Exception from = "" to =""/> at this point I added this change<Exception From="FME/0.0" to="FME/4.0"/>but I saw FMLE does not connect as little to solve this problemThanks to all ...
Below I have added code example to illustrate my problem.I am using Interactive flash server 3.5 and developing client using Flex builder 3.First off I am new to flash, actionscript, java script, ..., and I need server side to interact with a database. I have developed the below code that through trace statements seems to work, but when I try to access variable(s) they are still in their initial state. The trace statements in "Results.onResult = function(result)" are called and printed out to the Administration console. In main.asc there is an interval that checks the variable(s) and prints trace statement. app.MyDataManager.initCalled is always false. I'm not sure if this is the right terminology, but the call back from the web service seems to be in different memory or scope. What am I missing here. I know the function setInterval(...) you have to pass this. But I have been unable to find an equivalent for WebService. Is it possible to do what I'm trying to do?Any help or sugges
Hi, I have a problem...I need to move two figures on the stage with shared object like the "Tutorial shared Object ball" on the adobe website but with more than one figure. All the client must see the figures moving. The figure are a circle (Cerchio) and a square (Quadrato).Help me, please. This is the script:package{ import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.net.SharedObject; import flash.events.NetStatusEvent; import flash.events.SyncEvent; import flash.net.NetConnection; import flash.events.MouseEvent; import flash.display.MovieClip //import flash.net.ObjectEncoding; public class BlocchiLogici extends Sprite { private var pointer_so:SharedObject; private var pointer1_so:SharedObject; private var nc:NetConnection; private var good:Boolean; &nb
Hi, I have got success in making live streaming with telecast at different pc. The application which I have made has the features: I' am publishing live stream using the connection like: nc.connection("rtmp://10.8.4.56:1935/live"); publishing the stream like: ns.publish("mycamera","live"); now, on other pc I am running the file for telecast using the following code: making connection with server: nc.connection("rtmp://10.8.4.56:1935/live"); playing the live stream: ns.play("mycamera"); vid.attachNetStream(ns); Now, that was for the live stream for publish and view. But I want little more than that.I want to record the live stream at the publish end simultaneously.I have tried the code at publish side like:nc.connection("rtmp://10.8.4.56:1935/live");ns.publish("mycamera","live");ns.publish("mycamera","re
Hi everybody,What are your FMS - Actionscript editor favorite flavor ?I use Eclipse with remote file access but I am not quite satisfied with it. UTF8 coding sometimes jam and syntax coloring is poor for AS (note for later : I may be missing things here). Is there a "NUMBER ONE" editor combo ?Cheers,IFZen
I need to merge multiple live audio streams into a single stream so that i can pass this stream as input to VOIP through a softphone. For this i tried the following approach:Created a new stream (str1) on FMS onAppStart and recorded the live streams (sent throgh microphone) in that new stream.Below is the code :application.onAppStart = function(){application.myStream=Stream.get("foo"); application.myStream.record();}application.onPublish = function (client, stream){ var streamName = stream.name; application.myStream.play(streamName,-2,-1}; }The problem is that the Stream.play plays only 1 live stream at a time.As soon as a the 2nd live stream is sent to FMS then Stream.play stops playing the previous live stream. So,only the latest live stream is getting recorded.Whereas i need to record all the live streams in the new stream simultaneously.Any pointers regarding this ar
The company I work for installed FMS on a server running Centos for a customer who needed streaming media capabilities. It worked fine for 3 months until today the customer called us and informed us that their client program can no longer connect to the streaming media server. No one has done anything to the server to cause this to happen. When attempting to access the admin console to diagnose the program, the streaming server returned a 500 Internal Server Error. So I tried another page. Same result. Reboots of both the hardware server and the FMS have changed nothing. I have googled the error and the problem but have found nothing that resolves the issue. Any ideas?-Bucky24
Hi all,I'm hoping anyone can point me in some intelligent direction.I have a main.asc in my FMS3.5 application. I'd like to be able to import things like AS3Crypto, com.adobe.serialization, etc, to be used in main.asc.However, there seems to be no clear way to do so.2 possibilities come to mind:1) I'm not seeing something in the docs that is super obvious.2) I'm attempting to use server-side AS for something that it is not intended for..All I'm trying to do is verify url signature in my onConnect, however, I can't even get access to simple things like byteArrays, let alone invoke AS3Crypto. I can load other ASC files via global load() method, but this seems to bleed to death if I attempt to convert complex AS3 classes to ASC.Is it intended that this sort of functionality be soley offloaded to another application via webservice/whatever? Or am I simply looking at this all wrong?Any leads or advice would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks all.j
When installing Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5.2, does Apache 2.2 need to be installed? Does a web server need to be installed for FMS to work?I would like to only store and stream video content from the FMS server. Can this be done without major configuration changes? What are the pros and cons of installing a web server like Apache in conjunction with FMS? Thanks,Dave
How to use: getNetStreamStats() Flash Media Server 3.5actionscript 3 with an example thanks, my application name is : liveVideolivefeed name is: livefeedLive please one example how to make a call for this application my English is not good
We have installed Flash Media Server on a Linux machine. It has 2GB of RAM, Fedora 9 with kernel 2.6.27.5-41.fc9.i686, the install required a few packages (compat-expat1 was one) to be installed before we saw the sample page. The sample page takes a few minutes to load and opening the page to connect to the admin console is about the same. This is currently on our internal network while we try and see how it works. Are there any specifc TCP related kernel tuning parameters (eg in sysctl.conf) which need to be put in place over and above the out-of-box configuration. Any troubleshooting hints which might identify the problem. The install seemed ok nothing in /var/log/messages and checking to see what is running (ps aux | grep fms) I see ./fmsmaster -silent/opt/adobe/fms/Apache2.2/bin/httpd -f ./conf/httpd.conf -d /opt/adobe/fms/Apache2.2 -k start/opt/adobe/fms/fmsedge -edgeports :80,1935 -coreports localhost:19350 -conf /opt/adobe/fms/conf/Server.xml -adaptor _defaultRoot_ -name _default

Hi,I am running into some streaming bugs and am wondering if anyone else has come across them. Very grateful in advance for any help as I've been banging my head against this for a week now.First of all, I'm finding that no matter what value I set for a NetStream's bufferTime property, the NetStream will not begin actually playing until the bufferLength property is over 2 seconds. This is not what Flash documentation says (that the default value of bufferLength is .1 seconds). Could this issue a function of the FMS configuration with my RTMP hosting account? Is it something I can resolve with my asc file? Also: In my Actionscript 3 app, I need to pre-buffer a number of video streams so that any one of them can be triggered immediately later in the program. I do this by building an array of NetStreams (within a single NetConnection), then playing each of the streams I need to pre-buffer and immediately pausing each too. This is successfully causing them to buffer in the background, so th
We're running into some odd client disconnects with our appication. It seems that after a period of time (usually 30-45 minutes - but it varies) FMS will boot a client for no apparent reason. On server side, application.onDisconnect gets triggered and, the client gets a "NetConnection.Connect.Closed" event. It seems like it usually happens to clients that are behind the same router, but at this point, we're just speculating. The networking stuff in FMS is a complete blackbox so I'm not even sure what to debug. Anyone experienced this? Any workarounds? Any logs I can check to figure out why a client would get booted sometimes? We do have FMS ping all clients regularly (to figure out latency) and all clients call a remote method on FMS on a set interval - this was a possible solution mentioned in some white papers. Clearly, it hasn't helped us.
Hi everyone,I'm using a proxy server to access the public network.I follow the flash tutorial and i configured the Adaptor.xml file as following:<HTTPTunnel> <Enable>true</Enable></HTTPTunnel><HttpProxy enable="true" maxbuf="16384"><Host port="80">125.23.65.59:3128</Host> 125.23.65.59:3128 is the ip adress and the port for the proxy server that i'm using. When i want to connect to my FMS server using the rtmp protocol: rtmp://mywebsite.com/app , i have an error message: connection failed.I opened the 1935 port on my firewall. There's something else that i should modify or setup to let the rtmp protocol works with FMS behind a proxy ?Thanks
Can Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 run on AMD Athlon Dual Sock Quad Core?I just requested a Dell server to be added to our farm to run as a Media Server and to my surprise, while reading the requirements for FMS it states the following: 3.2GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 processor (dual Intel Xeon® or faster recommended)Any comments on this?I know I should have researched this in advanceRegards
I am new to FMS, I need to ask a question, does the Flash Server require an open connection for each instance of same video being streamed, or the connection can be shared. If so, how do I config.
