Hi,We are trying to setup FMS so that a section of videos for streaming are restricted to a specific network, while other videos would be available to all to stream. According to what I read, this is best restricted by means of a vhost. However, I've spent 3 days trying to get a vhost to work and am thoroughly stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Here is what I have done:Our current configuration for the _defaultVHost_ is: within vhost.xml, it points the apps dir to ${VHOST.APPSDIR} which points to the default install location. The VOD_DIR within fms.ini points to a separate location: d:\content\flash\.Within the default applications location, there are 3 folders: live, stream, and vod. Within the stream folder, there is an Application.xml file that contains: <Streams>/;D:\content\flash\</Streams>This setup up to this point works fine with my videos streaming from d:\content\flash\.Now, I want to setup a vhost that points to an applications directory at: D:\Progra
Hi there, Is there a possibility - instead of attaching a camera [via ns.attachcamera()] to a netstream - to "attach" e.g. BitmapData to netstream. The reason is, that I use BitmapData's .draw method to get the webcam video in order to change it, such as with the .treshold method. And I want to record and save these altered bitmaps (as a video) on the FMS instead the original webcam video. This URL gives a good example what I mean!! ... http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/webcam_motion.html Two videos are shown, the left one is the original from the webcam, the right one the "modified" video. Only the modified video shall be recorded via the netstream .publish method. Thanks for any help.
I'm trying to set up a dynamicstream for the first time but am getting these errors:1046: Type was not found or was not a compile time constraint: DynamicStream.1046: Type was not found or was not a compile time constraint: DynamicStreamItem.Do I need to import something in order to use the DynamicStream class?My script is:import fl.video.*;var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();nc.connect("rtmp://localhost/vod");var ds:DynamicStream = new DynamicStream(nc);var dsi:DynamicStreamItem = new DynamicStreamItem();dsi.addStream ("video500", 500);dsi.addStream ("video1000", 1000);dsi.addStream ("video1500", 1500);ds.play2 (dsi);
hello everyone..I use FMIE and FMLE.how can i do save to file Live Streaming in server installed fms, not local system ?thanks.
I'm trying to get up to speed on the Flash Interactive Server 3.5 by reading through the documentation. One of the first exercises in the flashmediaserver_dev_guide.pdf tells me to open the "livetest.html" file in the samples/applications/live/ directory. No such file exists.The installation installed four text files, and a main.as file, but no html files.Can anyone suggest a location to download this file so I can continue with the exercise in the documentation?Thanks
Hi,I want something like this _______ | |-------------------->Client 1 A----------->| Server |--------------------->Client 2 &n
Hi there,We have installed Adobe Flash Server 3.5 and are currently evaluating it. The installation went well and is working fine.I have some questions however.We were looking for a product that would not only stream video, but also make it easier for our users to upload videos.Is there a easy (web-based) method for users to upload their videos to the server? Or will they need to have ftp access to the /applications/vod/ directory?Is there any kind of automatic transcoding available? I'm ok with serving only flv's, but it would be nice if the user could upload any format and have it automatically converted.Thanks,Jeph
Hi guys.We are with Flash Media Server, and Flash Media Live Encoder. We installed it on a computer in our network, and we ran Flash Media Live Encoder on that same computer. When we tried live streaming, it worked without a problem. The FMS URL is, rtmp://localhost/live.However, when my coworker tried to stream to the computer, Flash Media Live Encoder could not connect. The FMS URL became rtmp://192.168.1.145/live.I'm can't find stuff in the documentation regarding this topic. Has anybody seen articles about it?
I use H.264 Video Format,25fps,800x600 size,1000Kbps.Start the encoding,the CPU utility rate is going up to the 90%~100% percent.Plenty of video drops.For to reduce the cpu utility rate ,i want to use the hardware encoding of the nvidia geforce or the ati videocard.Are the FMLE3 support the hardware h.264 encoding?
After a seemingly successful install of FMS 3.5 on a remote Red Hat server (a browser pointed at webroot displays the supplied index.html file with both RTMP and HTTP working), I tried to move videoplayer.html to the same webroot directory for testing. It is not seen (404 error) by my browsers (neither IE nor Firefox) but shows up fine with full permissions in my Putty console and in Filezilla SFTP. I then tried to copy and rename other existing .htm or .html files to this directory (and then other directories) from the console (using cp) and with SFTP but they too are invisible to my browser. All .htm and .html files which were part of the original install, however, are still visible to my browsers. I tried restarting the FMS server and confirmed that Apache also was restarted but still no luck. This is my first post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The Signal is yuv or pcm stream , i use the fmle3.0 to encoding to the h.264 format.Once started.the CPU utility rate is going up to the 100%.I want to konw,which kind of the CPU can support the live stream.In other words,My require is encoding the one live stream the cpu utility rate is below 30%.
I have inherited an application where calls to our FMS server result in the SSAS initiating remoting calls to an external database server (via AMFPHP).We have had intermittent problems on the remoting calls from the FMS server to the external database server. We are running FMS 3.5.In researching, I found this entry in livedocs.adobe.com for "Viewing Flash Remoting log entries" for "Using Flash Remoting MX for Microsoft .NET":http://livedocs.adobe.com/flashremoting/mx/Using_Flash_Remoting_MX/usingFRNET7.htmDoes FMS have any such automatic "Flash Remoting log"?Or must we rely only on our application logs with trace() statements in our _Result and _Status handlers?Thanks,g
I haven't seen enough documentation or links for this to know what the situation is. Does FMS come with its own web server or does it require installation on an existing web server? Which web servers are compatible?Links to documentation would be appreciated. The mentions I have found so far are less that useful.Thanks, David
Hi!I'd like to push a prerecorded flv as live stream to another server, from wich clients can receive the video as live stream.Besides some connection-code i do:var res = ""; var playStream = res = Stream.get("myStream"); playStream.onStatus = function(pInfo) {trace("status: " + pInfo.code + " / " + pInfo.description);} trace("res1: " + res);res = playStream.play("monitorStream");trace("res2: " + res);var newStream = new NetStream(this.connections[pUrl]); res = newStream.attach(playStream); trace("res3: " + res); newStream.publish(this.streamId, "live");The debug output looks like this:res1: [object Stream]res3: trueres2: truestatus: NetStream.Publish.Start / myStream is now published.status: NetStream.Play.Reset / Playing and resetting monitorStream.status: NetStream.Play.Start / Started playing monitorStream.monitorStream.flv lies on my FMS. So from the debug-output everything looks fine. But i don´t see any video, when i play the published stream on client-side. The outgoing stream
Hi, i'm new here.I'm trying to stream a webcam from 1 server to many client, what I really need to know is :1. How to adjust a bitrate video for bandwidth streaming, is it enough just using a Camera.setQuality() ?2. If u set Camera.setMode() at large resolution, for example at 1024x768 is it could make the bandwidth for client access increase too ?I mean is it affect the bandwidth for set the resolution at small (ex: 160x120) or set at large (ex: 1024x768) resolution.3. Same as number 2. just it was for video=new Video(w, h) . Is setting a video size affecting the bandwidth ?4. I just still develop at local, how to test it with a real connection? Could *Stimulate download at Flash test movie test a real connection with FMS?Thx ..
Sorry to be a noob, but I have installed and am evaluating Adobe Media Server for our organization.I have installed fms on a linux machine, the URL of the index page is : http://mydomain/fms/It plays the sample videos. I'm reading the Dev Guid, it says "To stream files over RTMP only, copy files to RootInstall/applications/vod/media. To stream files over RTMP and allow progressive download over HTTP, copy files to RootInstall/webroot/vod."Ok, great. I uploaded my videos. There's one called: RootInstall/applications/vod/media/videotest.flv.Now what?I can access the videos in /webroot/vod directly through the browser. http://mydomain/fms/vod/vid.flvHow do I stream the video in RootInstall/applications/vod/media/videotest.flv ? I want to embed the flash player in a web page on a different server, but I can't figure out how to.Is there some documentation more like a "User's Guide" other than the install docs and dev guide?Thanks,Jeph
Hello,when doing a live encode with Flash Media Live Encoder 3 to FMS 3.5, the encoder disconnects randomly after 1 to 8 minutes. It takes about 50 seconds for the encoder to recognize the lost connection, then it re-connects. I tried to encode from different locations, but the problem remains.Thank you very much for any help.
Hello!Following the code shown in this example (Examle 6): http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/dynstream_advanced_pt2_04.html I made this:var ds:DynamicStream = new DynamicStream( myNetConnection ); //The first item in the playlistvar dsi:DynamicStreamItem = new DynamicStreamItem();dsi_1.addStream( "mp4:sample1_500kbps.f4v", 500 );dsi_1.addStream( "mp4:sample1_700kbps.f4v", 700 );dsi_1.addStream( "mp4:sample1_1000kbps.f4v", 1000 ); dsi_1.length = 30; //The second item in the playlistvar dsi_2:DynamicStreamItem = new DynamicStreamItem();dsi_2.addStream( "mp4:sample2_500kbps.f4v", 500 );dsi_2.addStream( "mp4:sample2 _700kbps.f4v", 700 );dsi_2.addStream( "mp4:sample2 _1000kbps.f4v", 1000 ); dsi_2.reset = false;dsi_2.length = 20; ds.startPlay( dsi_1 );ds.startPlay( dsi_2 );But this code its not working as should.When dsi_1 finish playing in 30 seconds, dsi_2 never start. Instead of the second item, the first (dsi_1) start playing again.What I'm missing in my code?Thanx,Al
Hello All, I have this real weird problem that I hope you can help me solve.I installed flash media server 3.0.4 on a Windows 2003 server.I am using the default LIVE application and broadcasting to it using FME version 3.0 Inside FME I choose MP3 as the audio codec, stereo and 128kbps When I watch the stream everything works fine but after a minute (sometimes 2 minutes) the sound disappears and I can only see the video run.If I refresh the page that contains the SWF that plays the stream then the sound works again but then again after a minute the sound stops and only the video continues to play. It is important to say that this only happens when I play a live stream from a server that is located outside of my local LAN. If I play a stream from my development FMS server in my local LAN this problem doesn't happen using the same SWF and same settings in FME.Moreover, if I use the nellymoser audio codec then everything works fine and this problem doesn't happen also. The thing is that I
I just wonder if the price for the media server a one time shot or not? Since I've heard that before it was licensing by section or by time. Is it true?

Is it possible to setup flash media server to stream an audio stream from a computer locally running "windows media encoder"from port 8080? We are currently using the windows media services on server 2008 to stream it outside our network but we would like to use our flash server to do this. Or if there is just a swf we could make or use that would work also.ThanksBlake
