Hi, I just installed the Flash Media Server 3.01 and now I can't login, It keeps telling my the username or password is wrong. I have dbl and triple checked the user name and password that was used during install. Any Ideas? Thanks
How can I set up FMS to look at a network shared folder that has the flv files in it instead of using the _definst_ folder in the streams folder? I was reading through this post, http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=15&catid=578&threadid=1343625&enterthread=y but I wasn't able to make sense of exactly what I needed to do. Thanks.
Hi all, i wanted to know how to calculate or estimate the number of simultaneous connections that one Flash Media Server installation (one licence, one server) can handle, in the scope of a basic Instant Messaging application (online presence and text chat). Did some of you have direct experience about it? I found informations only about video streaming & server stress, but nothing about connections number alone. Thanks
I've seen a few posts about this but not any solutions. I'm experiencing random client disconnects in my application. The clients log in fine but then the server just loses them. They remain connected, but the server doesn't see them any longer and their names are dropped from the connected user list. The event logs aren't helpful, they just show that the client disconnected. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I feel like it must be some sort of network error because it never happens during testing, but with certain users it's more common.
Hi, I'm running the developer edition of FMS3 on my local machine for development purposes and I'm working with large amounts of XML data. I try to check the veracity of the data by using appropriately located trace statements to spit out the current document. However, some of the data is large, and instead of outputting it I get the message "String too long to display". Is there any setting I can adjust in order to increase the size of traceable messages? It's not as if I care if I have a whole load of data in my log screen. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Dave Spaar
Is that possible to use relative paths in the VOD's Application.xml, streams element? I would need to use the same Application.xml for many Applications and I would like just to copy the same Application.xml file with the following config: ... <Streams>/;./streams/</Streams> ...
I converted a large number of wmvs into flv with Sorenson Squeeze a while back. We're using FMS to stream them and everything has been working fine until today. Now all of a sudden almost all of the flvs won't advance the video. The first frame comes up and no matter where you go in the timeline/playhead the video never changes. I've opened the flvs in other players (not using the fms streaming) and when I try to move to a point in time on the timeline it jerks back to the beginning. If I can get it to go to another point in time the video doesn't change. Is there a reason this could be happening that I can look for? Thanks.
Hello Community, I have been using a service of FMS 3 for a week and I have notice a BIG delay between the audio/video in the player and the source of information from the computer. We are talking about something like for example: You are playing Live a playlist of songs and the user(Web Browser) is listening to x song but the computer already played that song 15 minutes ago. If we talk about video is the same problem. I already did my test before submit this post. The thing is that the previous system is using Windows Media and this is not happening. This happen in our first test using Satellite Internet and also using Comcast 1.5 Mps Internet. So I don't what you think anymore. If someone know at least what I need to do I will really appreciate the help. Cheers, Peter
Hi, I realise there are player restrictions for RTMPE, however I cannot seem to get this to work. I'm testing this with the default VOD application which works fine over RTMP. I'm using the latest flash player (9,0,124,0), and playing the media through a class inheriting from the VideoPlayer class. URL's "rtmp://{server}/vod/mp3:audio" - This works "rtmpe://{server}/vod/mp3:audio" - Does not work Any ideas? Many Thanks, Ady
Hi everybody, i find very impressive flash texas holdem game here tbs.com/stories/story/0,,65148,00.html and i want to create something like this on my site, even better so please tell me which tools was used in this texas holdem feature creation, i want to learn to work with them. Great thanks
Also, I just want to check to make sure that the reason my recording stops after 45 seconds - 1 minute is because I'm using the Developer's license?
Hi, Going through couple of tutorials on the adobe site, i wanted to try out how the live streaming works. So i setup the FMS 3 on the system which also hosts my web server (IIS). I setup the FME 2.5 on my system(with attached web cam). Later i started the live streaming by providing the FMS URL: "rtmp://ip_address/live/instance1" and with stream name as "myFirstStream". I was able to confirm that my FMS is able to receive the stream by verifying the FMS Admin console on the server. Second part: i created a "myStream.fla" having the FLV playback object on the timeline and providing "livestream" as its instance name. i did not provide any source/contentpath in the properties window for the FLV playback object. Then i created "streamaction.as" file and included that in the action script window in timeline2-frame1 by using the following code syntax: include "streamaction.as" in "streamaction.as" file in included the following 3 lines of code: livestream.width=320; livestream.height=24
I have the flash media streaming server 3 installed on a server in our office. It is set up with a few sample flv/mp4 files and is working great with the vodtest html page that comes with it. I've now come to making my own flash file using the FLVPlayback component (at the moment i've just got a black document with a flvplayback instance in the middle, which i've given the correct rtmp path in the component inspector). It works fine in flash when using Test Movie, it buffers up the file and start playing almost immediately. Unfortunately, if I publish the flash file and open it in a web browser, all I get is an endless buffering bar. I'm hoping theres something simple I've missed out somewhere.
ok, I copied the <installdir>/applications/vod to <installdir>/applications/newapp in the conf dir in the file fms.ini I added : # VOD_DIR denotes the full path of sample "VOD" application's # folder for storing onDemand .flv/.mp3 files. # For example: # VOD_DIR = <FMS_Installation_Dir>\applications\vod # VOD_DIR = /opt/adobe/fms/applications/newapp/media VOD_DIR = /opt/adobe/fms/applications/vod/media With these changes, no go if I comment out the VOD_DIR = /opt/adobe/fms/applications/vod/media line it works, then it plays the media in the newapp dir. if I comment out the other vod line, it plays the media in the vod dir. What am I doing wrong?
can any one tell me how can i block a uer in flash chat application using flash media server. anyone anybody can answer woh want ot help plz thanks in advance
I have Flash 9,0,115,0 and it works according to the test on the adobe website. However, when I try to play google videos, they start and stop and and freeze. What am I doing wrong?
Has anyone seen the following log message? x-ctx:(w)2611095 x-comment:Failed to stop playing (stream ID: 2). From reading the docs it appears to be a warning message for category Stream with the comment Failed to stop playing (stream ID: %1$S). If anyone can shed any light onto this, I would extremely appreciate it.
Hello, We've just installed FMS in development mode on an XP box. When we run the Vod and live tests we get loading then ConnectionError In the core log I can see Asynchronous I/O operation failed (Failed to attach to completion port: The parameter is incorrect. 87). Any thoughts? Thanks
Hi i'm running a core server and 2 edges servers conected to core and I'm using Flash Media Live Encoder to encode a live stream to core. Clients are always connect to edge servers. However from time to time i have the following errors in logs : 2008-08-06 17:21:38 2514 (e)2581279 Assert failed in /server/core/FcLiveStream.cpp line 1627 - And one more strange error: 2008-08-06 16:02:22 2514 (w)2641213 Connection rejected by server. Reason : [ Server.Reject ] : Edge loop detected. Rejecting connection. - The edge is configured by adding a route in Vhost.xml something like this: <RouteEntry>edge1.mydomain.ro:1935;master.mydomain.ro:1935</RouteEntry> When the error "Edge loop detected" appears clients are unable to connect to edge. Thanks , Mihai
Hello, We have been developing a live video chat application and we have come accross a problem where the FMSCore crashes at random times. There are average 50 connections at a time, no memory or CPU load. There is no error message in the logs, except for the following: TCMsgQueue dropped more than 100 video messages, type: 1, clientID: 284122432, streamID: 1 which not always there before a crash. We have also tried to work around this problem, by stopping the streams for users that are not able to receive them. This did not solve the problem either. We are running FMS 3.0.2 on Windows Server 2003, so we put in a stack dump which shows the following at all crashes: 00 0315f724 005e37e5 010c3a68 16cafab8 01aa0244 js32!JS_SetProperty+0x38 01 0315fa48 63020dd3 00000000 00000000 00000000 FMSCore!operator++0x8e7b5 02 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 js32!js_Invoke+0x683 Does anyone what this could mean? Any help is appreciated.
After getting FMS 3.0.1 development server up and running for testing, my employer purchased a license for the streaming edition. I noticed that FMS 3.0.2 Update was available so I downloaded it. I backed up my application and conf directories before installing 3.0.2 which was fortunate. The update replaced all my configuration files. The update simply does a full install. The release notes don't explain that existing configurations will be overwritten, nor does it recommend backing up. Is this what I can expect for all updates?
Hi, I created an application that parses an xml file and uses the data to create and play a list of clips. I use something like <code> for(var i = 0; i < this.playlist.length; i++) { var source = this.playlist .source.toString(); if(i == 0) stream.play(source, 0, -1, true); else stream.play(source, 0, -1, false); } } </code> And this is my scenario: FMS 3 now plays a clip to its end, then the last frame of the clip freezes for a few seconds and then the next clip starts, but not from its beginning. It seems to me like while the previous clip is freezing, the new clip is already running, as I can hear the audio track of it. I set the bufferTime of the FMS NetStream to 0, the client buffers 1 second. Does anyone have a suggestion? To the forum admin: quote: Please use "Attach Code" to include any sample code in the message. Sorry, I could not find it....
We are trying to connect our FMIS3 with our SAN using a UNC path "\\upload.local\upload\FMSRecording\". We have modified the Application.xml’s “StorageDir” tag and we have tried modifying the Vhost.xml’s “Streams” tag. We are able to play the flvs from the share and able to record if the directory already exists, but if the FMIS3 has to create the directories it does not record. We have configured the SAN permission for FMIS3 to read and write. We have also locked the user account for both the Flash Media Server and the Flash Media Administration Server and the user has full control access. I would appreciate anyone that could help. Thank you.
Hi, I'm struggling with the webservice functionality on the server-side. At the top of my main.asc-file I have this line: load("webservices/WebServices.asc"); That puts the following in my administration console: "WebServices Loaded successfully." However, when someone connects to the media server and it tries to initialize and use this webservice using this code: MyService = new WebService("uri.to.wsdl.file"); I get the following error in the administration console: Sending error message: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3\scriptlib\webservices\XMLSchema.asc: line 110: ReferenceError: document is not defined Failed to execute method (XML.onData). I've tried googling it and that gave this result, but the solution suggested here didn't work: Link to other forum This is not caused by the webservice itself, since other flash and .Net applications can use it without any problems. Everything also works just fine when I run everything off my local workstation, but as soo
We have developed a web app that can merge flv and add cuepoints to the flv. If I play the flv either locally or using http, it plays correctly and all the cuepoints execute. However, the fms server is unable to serve the file and it I use the flvcheck.exe to verify the flv I get error -9 Invalid FLV message footer. If there was a way to disable the fms server from trying to verify the files that should solve the issue. Thanks in advanced.
