I work at a University and was wondering if there was some way to not allow copy righted material to be streamed on the server, or only particular copy righted material?
I am getting ready to sign an agreement with Level 3 when I realised that HLS can't be used like HDS to stream content through a CDN as shown in the illustration below. Am I correct in this? Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,I have got a fresh installation of AMS 5.0.4 on AWS . By default, the applications folder is supposed to be on /mnt/applications folder. Also the root directory of the apache web server is supposed to be on /mnt/webroot folder. This is how the configuration is supposed to be. My question is I have got a new AMS server built on AWS but these folders are missing. Aren't the folders /mnt/applications and /mnt/webrrot supposed to be present by default.Do we need to create these folders manually .If yes then from where should I copy the files needed in the /mnt/webroot/ folder .Right now I couldn't access the server by hitting the url "http://ip-of-server".The logs of apache are giving me this error-: Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /mnt/webroot/Can anyone help me out with this?
Forum,I just installed Adobe Media Server v5 on a W2K8 R2 vm. Testing from the admin console I get an error #2032 for all of the samples except for "Single Bitrate". I tried to follow the discussion in thread1245961, but there wasn't enough into. Perhaps related; compared to a v4 installation, the Application Pools and Web Sites in IIS are missing the entries present in v4.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Mark

Hi Adobe Community,We are using RTMFP to stream audio and video from Flash clients to Media Servers (unicast mode, no P2P). Everything was working fine until we changed the public hostname in the Adaptor.xml.We are now using a hostname (PUBLICHOSTNAME.COM in the example below) that resolves to a different IP depending on various parameters. All these IP addresses target the same server.Adobe Media Server seems to resolve PUBLICHOSTNAME.COM once for all and it sends this IP to the client instead of the hostname. How can we force Adobe Media Server to send the hostnname (PUBLICHOSTNAME.COM) instead of the IP address during the RTMFP connection?Configuration example: <Adaptor> ... <RTMFP> ... <Core> <HostPortList> &nbs

I have AMS 5. I embed html object code (pointing to a manifest file on the AMS) on our community discussion board for viewing. Using from IE, Chrome, etc... view the videos without issue. However, iPhone, IPad etc... cannot view the videos. Can anyone tell me how to support theses different clients using just one manifest file? Or do I have to always create 2 manifest file? Is there a way for the system to detect with manifest to use? Thanks for any help.

Hi all,I can share a embedded MP4 file on Facebook with facebook OG tag so that people can view the video with inline video player.Streaming from FMS 4.5, the embedded LIVE streaming link can be http://<mydomain>/VideoID.f4mWhen internet user viewing/sharing the same link on their facebook, the view the link stream as well. When the LIVE event has been completed, the recorded MP4 file would be work as VOD streaming, link like http://<mydomain>/hds-vod/VideoID.f4mThe problem is that when people click on the previously shared link on facebook, the embedded link is the "http://<mydomain>/VideoID.f4m" that do not exist. How can i redirect the f4m to the VOD f4m address? Thanks.

HiIt's possible to stream a JPG feed via AMS ?Bolo
I have seen several questions which were close to what I am looking for, but haven't found an answer that worked. I work at a school, and we use a NewTek TriCaster to stream live events through FMS 3.5, which I am hoping to upgrade to AMS 5 to allow HLS. We have been streaming a single H.264 encoded feed through the server as a live stream which works well. They have recently asked if it is possible to archive that recording on the server. I was able to get everything to work correctly when I switched to using the VP6 codec, but as long as we were streaming with H.264, I could not get the server to record it correctly. Here's what I have tried:This code works for the VP6, but the H.264 doesn't record the video:application.onPublish = function (clientObj, streamObj){ var s = new Stream("archive"); s.record(); s.play(streamObj.name);}This worked and created an flv file, but caused a few other issues due to the encodi
I am using Adobe FMS 4.5 for streaming live and for VOD playback. Using DVRCast for the recording application. sometimes in the player, after the live stream is recorded, playback will not occur. It is very random. in the logs, when playback does not occur, the status is "pending connection." checked what the status code means and it means the application is pending connection. Does anyone know why this occurs. I checked the application files and see no limitations.
Hi there,We have a Flash application doing camera capture and streaming it over RTMP to an AMS. Things work brilliantly for most USB webcams, however as soon as our users use a built-in cheap webcam (say Lenovo) the FPS drops to 7-8fps.We try to rule out as many external factors as possible and ended up with a simple loopback test. With our USB camera we can get 30fps loopback without any problem. But when switching to the built-in camera it drops to 7fps.So then we try a simple self view (so no server side and no network traffic) with basically the following code:_camera = Camera.getCamera();_camera.setQuality(90000, 0); // prefer fps over quality_camera.setMode(640, 480, 39, false); // favorArea=false to prefer fps here toovar localCame:Video = new Video();localCam.attachCamera(_camera);videoDisplay.addChild(localCam);Here again the USB cam gets us a 30fps while the built-in gives us 13pfs (a little bit better...).So it looks this is something related to the client side, it happens o
What are the announcements for renting VPS? For details, understand VPS and make the choice of rental; for Taiwan VPS and Hong Kong VPS, without records, unlimited contents, wider range, and more efficient experience. Your server will show its excellence with the advantages. Most station agents become less inclined to virtual hosting, for national space, domain name records are needed, which waste the time; for overseas hosting such as Korea hosting, US hosting, no records, but slower speed than national space; therefore, more and more station agents prefer servers, but because the price of servers are too high, they turn their focus on VPS. The following are the announcements: 1.Open remote desktop lander:Start-run-mstsc or start-procedure-nearby-remote desktop connect 2.Several conditions for account halt:First, client side login cause account haltSecond, certain account quits the remote control in midway when it runs routineThird, certain routine is restricted by synchronous operatio
Is AMS 5.0x supported on Windows 2012R2? I can see that it works, and seems to run without issues; is there an expectation as regards when 2012R2 will be supported?
I'm trying to use this function of Adobe Media Server's Server Side Actionscript to rename a file.On Windows I can do `renameTo("/relative/path/object.ext")` and it'll work fine. However, when running the server on Linux, it gives me an error, and the rename operation will fail.So I'm thinking that it's a problem between what each OS considers to be a relative or absolute path. But regardless, how can I rename a file using this command on Linux?my current code is this Client.prototype.doSave = function(oldName, newName){ var thumbName = newName.replace("vid_","thumb_"); var oldSavedThumb = new File("/streams/_definst_/s3/"+thumbName+".png"); if(oldSavedThumb.exists){ trace("saving over thumb"); oldSavedThumb.remove(); } var thumb = new File("/streams/_definst_/"+thumbName+"_temp.png"); if(thumb.exists){ if(!thumb.isOpen){ thumb.renameTo("/streams/_definst_/s3/"+thumbName+".png"); trace("thumb saved"); }else{ trace('thumb
