Media Server (read-only)

I've setup HLS Sliding window and HDS Content Caching so viewers can rewind up to four hours of live video.I have my DiskManagmentDuration set for four hours.  However I have live video that last longer and noticed my disk drive gets full.  Is there a way to setup the server to start deleting the cached video once four hours have past???  Currently I have to empty contents to make space from the following:c:\program files\adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\streams\_definst_\ c:\program files\adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\events\_definst_\This procedure interupts the live stream.

Where is the install guide or can you point me to the link for the installation for AMS 5 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 64 bit?I am searching the the link from the download site is broken?Does someone know the system dependencies required for AMS 5 ?I have to upgrade the server here and want to test it out first before I wipe the existing server out.

Basically I've got an AS3 app set up that allows video chats between n number of parties, using RTMFP.  The problem is that when I tried to connect a computer from across the Internet, as opposed to our intranet, suddenly it couldn't connect at all to RTMFP for that app (though it was able to succeed in using an RTMP fallback that was in there).So after hunting around, I got the network administrator to supposedly open up 1935-1960 UDP for outbound traffic on the external IP for the FMS's server (same server as the AS3 app), and he apparently opened them up for inbound traffic as well.  I also went into Adaptor.xml and changed this element:<HostPort>:19350-19360</HostPort> to say this:<HostPort public="XX.XX.XXX.XXX:19350-19360">:19350-19360</HostPort> where XX.XX.XXX.XXX is the external IP for that computer.  At this point in time though, even though computers across the Internet are able to connect through RTMFP, the video/audio streams aren't g

My FMS applicaiton(FMS4.5) use a Array on the main.asc , anyone who connect to the server will change(remove/add) item of the Array, i'm worry about that if there is a synchronization issues with that?Is there any class i can use to lock/unlock the Array when i  modify the Array?THX!

We currently have an FMS instance setup and running on AWS. We provide for a number of clients and one has queried if it is possible to secure their videos in some way. We are using Strobe Media Player to stream the videos which I assume will effect the outcome. I am trying to create a multicast player using flash for live stream . I need to change player to use parameters passed from HTML page that embeds it instead of using manifest . I'm streaming with HDS and all is well on iOS devices, Macs and PCs. My issue is with Android devices using mobile safari. My log file (below) seems to indicate that all is working.  On the droid my player just says "streaming".  I'm using manifest files with 300kbps, 600kbps, and 900kpbs.  When I drop the manifest file and hook-in a f4m movie file directly the player will play the video.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.  Any direction would be great. I'm using the custom OSMF implementation with custom sub-title support.  On the mac side I'm using an HTML player with subtitle support.  My issue is consistant if I use the newest OSMF download (e.g. without any custom features). Hello,Two questions that I have not found an answer.I have adobe flash media server 4 on a Windows 2003 Server 32 bit and I would upgrade to version 5 standard.Is it possible to change from version 4 to version 5 without using version 4.5 and with an upgrade key ?Is it absolutely essential to use Windows 2008 R2 to install version 5 as I saw in the technical specifications?Best regards.

I'm trying to set receiveVideoFPS for a NetStream connection on a live stream and I can not get it to update correctly. The only time the FPS actually updates is if the publishing stream is changed to publish with a keyframe interval of 1. Meaning that every frame is a keyframe. This would obviously not be ideal as it would require a rediculous amount of bandwidth.According to the documentation, the receiveVideoFPS can be called before or after play() is called, however neither update correctly. With keyframes seeming to be the culprit, I've attempted to set the keyframeInterval and FPS rate at a combo that should evenly divide to make it easier on the server. For example:myCam.setMode(512, 384, 12, false); myCam.setQuality(0, 90);myCam.setKeyFrameInterval(6);Should mean that either a target of 2 FPS or 1 FPS would be possible right ?? Because every 6th frame is a key frame, meaning 2 per secondbut both fail... ANY help would be greatly appreciated - I can't seem to find any responses

Hi,After upgrading to FMS 4.5.4 from FMS 4.0, we ran into this weird problem. FMScore started consuming 85 to 95 % of physical RAM. The drawback of it is after 3 to 4 days FMS crash down itself. Below are the  logs for the same. We are doing live streaming (kind of live video chat). There are almost 400 users and max 10 to 12 simultaneous video conf  during the busy hours. Adobe apparently felt that making this information hard to figure out how to get to is somehow a good idea.  I need to be able to figure out exactly which license version for FMS 4.5 my company is using, and I need to see what the limits are for bandwidth usage and concurrent connections (both RTMP and RTMFP).  How would I be able to find this?  Thanks!

hello guys, first of all, sorry for my english...i am making a flash media server application and i want users to see that how many users are currently connected to this application...i have searched on google for 2 days and i couldnt find a good tutorial for AS3.i have looked at fmsguru and some other tutorial websites but those wasn't enough for me to succes...what i am trying to make is; a text area or dynamic text (i dont know which is most suitable for this purpose) which shows the numbers of connected user and i want it change immediately when a user connects or disconnects...i know there is an array as "application.clients" and i know i should use "application.clients.length" in "main.asc" file to find the number of connected users BUT i can't get this number to the text area or dynamic text in my "swf file".PLEASE help me by explaining a simple application which uses a "main.asc" file, an "action script" file and a "swf" file. and how to get the number of "application.clients.l

I have http streaming to an apple device working fine, however when I try to open the hds stream from strobe media player here, I get: "We are having problems with the playback. I have FMS working and vod plays movies with flowplayer.I have a setup where users can purchase to watch  a video and it sets the purchase in mysql database. I would like to setup the VOD to not play if they havent purchased. I can grab the users name from the session but I cant figure outhow to get the VOD application to querry MYSQL?Thanks in advance!

I have created the client-server application to switch streams and republish them as single continious stream to the remote server. I republish additional stream (myStream) by NetStream.publish() methode In the server-side script (main.asc). If I was to stream live fast action sporting event like a basketball game, using dynamic streaming (3 streams) with a dedicated 10MB upstream connection and a strong encoding appliance(viewcast model) what are the best/most common bitrates I should encode at? Which bitrates are most accessible for both PC and mobile, average users?>> 275kbps, 550kbps, 875kbps >> 282kbps, 482kbps, 682kbps>> 300kbps, 500kbps, 800kbpsWould a lot of buffering occur if a viewers connection fluctuates alot between 550 and 875kbps?Thanks.D

I see a lot of docs where both service run on the same box, but i have not seen any if the services are running on diffetnet boxes. I use the example FMS installation files, Flash Media Live Encoder is very well, but when I released the source replaced with flash 11.4 a worse problem.Beginning everything is normal and Flash Media Live Encoder does not make any difference, but when I upload bandwidth limit to 2KB / S (This situation often occurs in the actual situation, such as the user suddenly side live side of upload files), video and audio becomes very blocked, this is not the key to the problem is to when I upload bandwidth settings for normal, blocking situation will be no better, and have been very bad, but Flash Media Live Encoder automatically adjusted to normal, flash 11.4 but not. I have to use flash 11.4, nobody will go to install Flash Media Live Encoder.Mike Do you test only test Flash Media Live Encoder, but did not test flash, or flash need another set of code, but I really can not find a reason.
