@Stan JonesThanks. But recognising ize as correct is still incorrect in British English. Recognise is always with S and never Z. Sadly its not just recognise, but anything that ends in -ise. So the workaround is really just manually checking for things that aren't unerlined as incorrect by reading the entire text. There are no search, find & replace features, so actually the best thing would be to leave adobe, use another program to spell check.

UK English Spell check not finding mispelt words with Z in place of S. "Recognize" should be "Recognise" for example. Pretty basic stuff.

Hi Ashutosh Thanks for getting back to me. -Windows 10 Home -Latest version of Illustrator (but this has been happening since the update in 2018) Does not happen in any other apps with a similar tool bar set up, that I use regualrly. (photshop, after effects, xd, inDesign) cheers NickG

So this "feature" was added a few years ago and it seems that even with the latest update it is still broken. Here's what happens: > Open Illustrator > Tool Bar appears as double column > set it to single column using the little arrows at the top > save new workspace (the tool bar is part of the workspace right?) > Close Illustrator > Open llustrator >Tool Bar is back to double column. I've seen this answered as "your screen isn't big enough for the single column stack" that is 100% not the case for me. Attached is a screen shot of my single column with plenty of space below on my 4k screen to show many more tools than I have in my set up.

System Info: Motherboard : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @2.8Ghz OS build version: Windows 10 (latest updates) System ram: 31.86 GB RAM GPU board: GeForce GTX 1050 Display Driver Version: 387.92 It's a Dell XPS15 (3 months old) Repro Steps: 1. Open Adobe Illustrator (last update before CC2018) 2. Open a file (or make new one and draw any vector shape) 3. Pres Ctl+Y to change to outline mode. Results: Can see in the File Tab that it changes from "RGB/GPU Preview" to "RGB/Outline". Can see in the Layers Panel the Eye icon switches to Outline mode. File view fails to switch to Outline mode (continues to look the same as GPU Preview). It works fine after your switch to onboard graphics following the instructions above from mhmdh51850737 cheers

Switching to integrated graphics is the "solution". It's definetly an NVIDIA notebook driver vs Illustrator issue.

I actually unistalled onedrive, which "fixed" it. If I had to use onedrive for client work tho, it would probably cause me some issues!

So this is really weird. Heres whats happening: In after effects, I press CTL+I and in my system tray I can see OneDrive start running with the promt to set up. It does it every time. 1. It still allows me to import normally. 2. I don't use Microsoft OneDrive, in fact I've even gone as far as making sure that none of its processes are running on my computer 3. This only happens when I'm in After Effects. CTL+I is a shortcut I use A LOT. I've tested it in other programmes, on the desktop and CTL+I does nothing (other than what its supposed to do) How can I stop this! !

Hi Kevin Thanks for getting back to me. I was asking if there was a way to do this without transcoding to another format. If I transcode it to a different format it would be a totally new & different file and obviously, that would work. There are a lot of avi files, so its a lot of work to convert and reimport every file making sure they're all correct. Also worth noting is that the computer in my office is set up almost identical to my home computer and the avi files work fine there. Be nice to get a solution. Sorry you missed my poor attempt at humour. My goal was simply to let adobe know that it wasn't a standalone problem on one machine and that it was affecting other users. I really did appreciate your solution as I much prefer the legacy new document (its so much quicker to open and you can instantly see all the advanced settings). I have a file I was working on just 5 days ago in AE 2017. I go to open it today and suddenly all the .avi files are giving me the following error. After Effects error: File "[filenamehere.avi]" cannot be opened, it may be an unsupported format. ( 86 :: 1 ) I have unintalled, reinstalled after effects and the error is still there. Any way to fix this with out converting and replacing the avis?
