I am having an issue with printing PDF files that contain mixed media sizes to multiple PostScript printers/MFPs: 1) letter portrait and 2) ledger landscape.  I have tested with PostScript drives to Ricoh, Kyocera, and Xerox systems with all 3 producing the same result (when printing via PCL driver, everything works correctly).  The basic issue is as that while both paper sizes exit the finisher with the 11" side leading, the 11x17 pages are upside down (i.e. rotated 180 degrees) when compared to the letter sized pages.  This makes it impossible to staple or hole punch the document in-line since all 11x17 pages must be manually rotated.To take it a step further, I also have Fiery controller based printers where the very same job yields the correct result (tested Ricoh & Xerox).  Upon exploring the PPD file, I can see specialized code in the Fiery to rotate pages larger than letter sized, but I cannot figure out how to modify my non-Fiery PPD files to correct the

I need to print cyrillic (russian) characters included into a string, sending it to a postscript printer.So I reenconded using :/reencodeCP1251 { dup          dup findfont          ....          ....} def/CP1251Encoding [          /.notdef          .....          /afii10017 / ....          ......          ] defBut it seems that the afii codes are ignored by the printer that prints these chars as "blank". - What's missing to print these characters?

psprshpgI have a postscript file (Adobe 3.0, Language-Level 2) that contains what seems to be the short-form of operators. Where can I find a reference to help identify what these commands are. My best guess is that "ps" is pstack, "pr" is print, but it could also be product or prompt, and "shpg" is showpage.Thanks

Hi All,I need to edit the postscript and change the font names. if i open the ps file in to ultraedit and do some changes and it's not converting the file to PDF and showing some error.I need to edit the ps file and do some font name changes in text mode. I get PS files from a client that Distiller (or any third-party utility) can't convert to PDF. Where everything seems to choke is at a line that reads/Fout (XSFT47.img) (w) file d Fout iData writestring /iData 0 string d Fout flushfile Fout closefileThe number in front of .img changes from file to file (ie FXFTxx.img where xx can be almost any number), but the results are always the same. Any idea as to what's happening here or why? Distiller crashes and says that the error starts with Fout. Just for fun I ran one of these files through GhostScript and it ended up writing an XSFTxx.img file do my desktop. Why on earth is this part of the PS and what possible purpose could it serve?Thanks in advance Dan

Greetings!I'm injecting a piece of ps code into an existing print stream with a separator page. The injecting works fine, but I can't to seem to get the injected code right. The code should actually skip (or delete or replace by empty line) one or more lines further down in the ps datastream.I've tried using currentfile and readline/readstring but I can't seem to figure this out. Hello,I have an embedded system with a OpenHCI driver which controls an USB postscript printer.A Cmos sensor stores raw RGB image data in RAM.I would like print this images creating a ps file and sent it to the printer.Colorimage seems the right operator for this issue but it requires data encoded,for example as ASCII hexadecimal, and this mean a lot of computational costs for my little embedded system.Is there a way to include binary data to ps file and feed colorimage without encode them ?Thank you.

Hi,I made a 2-page PostScript document. On the 1st page I have an image made from parts of a picture. On the 2nd page I've got rectangles (the grid) exactly on positions where there are parts of a picture on the 1st page. Left margin on 1st page is the same as right on 2nd page.My example output files are: http://doscniewoli.pl/download/road_1page.pdf and http://doscniewoli.pl/download/road_2pages.pdf.The second file is that I need. The first is the test to show I put a grid on 2nd page on the correct place.However, when I print the road_2pages.pdf file (2 pages on one A4 paper - two sides printing) the grid is little bit shifted (more or less). Hi,Suppose I have a rectangle and want to write a paragraph of text inside it. I'd like to set such a maximum size of a font, to have all the text be inside a rectangle (nothing may go outside of its boundary).So, I first try font size of 20 (for example). If with that size the text is not inside the rectangle I'd like to try with smaller size untill the success.But... how can I only try the font size without writing the text on the page?
