I use Windows 7. I've been making video projects using MS Windows Movie Maker and Premiere Elements v.10 until recently. On 1/25/17 I downloaded a trial version of Pre v.15, used it for a few days, and then tried to buy a licensed version from Adobe website. Didn't like the options, so went to Staples, bought a CD with Premiere 15 (and Photoshop) on it, and installed & registered it on 1/29/17. A lot of confusion resulted; v 15 couldn't read old prel files created by v10, and vice-versa. Looking at the insides of prel files with Notebook and Emacs, it looks like the prel files created by PRE v10 are in clear ASCII XML, which I can understand. The prel files created by v15 look like gibberish, so they're probably encrypted somehow. I'd like to edit the prel files so that the pointer/s to media files point to their new external location, as I could do easily with the Movie Maker project files. So, 2 Q's: 1) am I right that PRE v15 encodes or encryp
I need to add closed captions to a short video I am creating. What is the best way to do this? I already have .srt files. When I search google, I find many software choices for this in post-production. However, I find nothing recent and video improvements happen frequently. I can't find anything within two years.I have Premiere Elements 14 and Windows 10.Thanks.
I work with student producing school news. I want them to be able to see the green screen image as they record. For example I want to put weather map on green screen and then my weather person be able to look at monitor as video is taken so they can see what they r pointing to. Can you view the green screen image live or only add it to a clip after recording?
I am using Premiere Elements 15.Could someone please tell me how to keep a moving object centered in a video clip? I can't figure out how. Please keep in mind that I am a total newbie.
Will Premiere Elements 15 import video from tape?
Hi I see a few other threads on this topic, but none of them seem to answer my particular question!I'm making a video that includes still photos - they are of various sizes, orientations, and resolutions. When I add them into the project, they are automatically resized to fit into the frame either vertically or horizontally, with black bars filling the remaining space (e.g. they aren't zoomed in to fill the whole frame). This is great, I love it. But - I want to give the photos a subtle "ken burns effect" by zooming in on one part of each photo. However, when I use the pan and zoom tool, the photos are resized to fill the frame. There doesn't seem to be a way to set the starting frame of the zoom to the view I see on the preview - i.e. the whole photo fit onto the screen with the black bars. I would really like to know if this is possible! To clarify - I want this to be my "starting frame" for pan and zoom:instead of this: I have already put together the project with video, narration,
I am pretty sure it does but just wanted to confirm. Was thinking of adding a Nvidia 1060 card to my machine. I do a lot of 4K editing and computer is struggling a bit at the moment with i7 processor and 16gb ram.Is there a setting you need to select to activate GPU or is it automatic?
The main problem I am facing with this software is that when I am playing back my movie, it is not showing out the narration. So is setting in Windows for DVD drive making a disc become region 1 or 2?Or is PRE country setting for location doing that?Any difference if ISO image burned with other software or PRE writing direct? Is the image telling a region, kind of.In this case it is AVCHD DVD FHD.Thanks.
I recently downloaded elements 15 and when i tried to import my videos I recorded with the app, Action!, it tells me that "this type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed". What codec do I need? Once I render a video out on windows movie maker, then it allows me to import it. Someone help me!
Hi,I think this is an Adobe blunder. I need to setup a project with the PAL sequence settings at 720p 25 fps progressive.Under the Available presets>PAL>dSLRs>720p>I have 3 options. a 720p50, and 2x720p24... (NTSC??).Is there a workaround? or a recent software update? We have just bought elements for a whole school, and our school cameras are limited, being in OZ, we need to work in PAL...Ta...[Moderator: moved to appropriate forum]

OS: Windows 7 Home PremiumElements version: 13.1hi recently i get an error every time i try to export a video to a quicktime hd 1080i format (or a customized version of this format). "error compiling movie. unable to create or open output file". This error comes up immediately as soon as i hit save. So far it will let me export to all the other formats i've tried. The format giving me errors now should work because up till now i've used it for all my exports.
Today I spent most of my day trying to fix my PC. I have used premiere elements 9 for years and never had issues. Today I finished a render and when opening it Media player crashed... I tried again, it also crashed. I tried a different format and that crashed. I tried as finished one from last week, now its crashed. Tried Real player... now it crashes. Tried some MP3 they now crash. Thinking I have been hacked I do a full scan. Then a system restore. No use. The only player that works is VLC player. So I resolved to just do a complete install of windows and wipe the drive. Now I go home and get back to rendering a different video, not the same no files were transferred. All was well the video was rendered and as sooon as I opened it..... Crash now I cant open videos with media player or real player or ITunes at home. WHAT DID PREMIERE ELEMENTS DO?

Hello, new to the forum. I've just tried importing some .wav files into my timeline in my Photoshop Elements 15 Premier. It imported the files, but there is no audio in them...just a level wave form. Anybody experienced this before?
I am trying unsuccessfully to sort the clips on my timeline by date. The folders in the organizer are sorted by the date taken stamp but when I load the folders into the edit timeline they rearrange to alphabetical by name of file. Any ideas? I do not want to rename or hand move over 200 files. Thank you!
I, too, am having problems uploading to any of the three services: Vimeo, YouTube, and Facebook. It gets to 98% on Vimeo and YouTube, at 6 seconds left, and then locks up. Facebook appeared as though it would be successful, as it processed past the 98% and said it was going to begin the process to finish uploading to Facebook, but failed several times in my "try, try again" approach. But each time takes at least 3 hours for the slightly over 1 hour City Council meeting I'm dealing with for a news feature video on a digital news service. Basically, the inability to upload in a timely manner wastes not only my editing time, but the meeting time, and does us out of the news video. I long for the simpler days of Steve Jobs' iMovie 09!I even tried lowering the quality to have less memory involved... down to 3.40 GB on the quality, but when I chose Vimeo, it brought it down to 2.87 GB. I have posted many of our news feature videos that run more than an hou
I had issues with my original webcam when recording from my webcam into Premiere Elements 15 (and importing the videos from elsewhere). So I bought a much more modern webcam (but one that definitely works with Windows 10), however the issues are pretty much the same. Below, I'll give as detailed an account of the issues as possible- hopefully someone will be able to help. Currently I am unable to put any webcam footage in the videos I record for Youtube. I spoke to help over live chat, but they were worse than useless; hopefully I can get some better answers here. When I record from a webcam directly into Premiere Elements 15, I get progressive desync that, within 10 seconds, has rendered the video and the audio completely out of sync. Is this something to do with the frame rate being recorded at, the format it's being recorded in and/or the audio settings? When I record the video in debut, it plays completely fine on my computer, but as soon as I put it into premiere elements, I got a
Hello,I tried to install the trial version but the installation didn't proceed at 63%. It was installing: microsoft visual c++ 2015 redistributable package (x86).How can I solve this? Thanks
In my little iMovie app that came with my iPhone, you can add theme music, and it seems to automatically make the music match the video. For example, the music will change slightly when the action speeds up in the video. That way, it's like the music automatically goes with the video. Is there anything similar in Premiere? I am a total newbie, and I would like to add a musical score to my video that changes to match the action, but being a newbie, I don't want to do this manually.I would appreciate any suggestions.
I have an all-in-one PC with i5, built-in Intel graphics, Windows 7.I created a video that is about 8 minutes long. Before saving it as an MP4 with 852x480 pixels, I clicked the render button. Still, when the saving process reaches about 44%, the internal fan starts to go wild and sounds like a vacuum cleaner. There's so much hot air coming out of the computer, that I have to click abort because I fear my computer might break. Is there anything I can do so that the CPU won't overheat? I can only think of the pre-rendering function. Maybe change Premiere Elements to a lower CPU priority in the task manager?
