I think I finally have a handle on the build I have been looking at since i9X — X299 and Threadripper / x399 was announced, and I'd appreciate it if you guys could pick any holes in it.  This will be used mostly for Photoshop, but with maybe 10% Premiere Pro, After Effects, SketchUp, and general use.  I currently use a 3930K with 32Gb RAM in a X79-UD5 board with GTX970.  I do complex illustrations with nested Smart Objects, and at least one of these bought my system to an unusable standstill.i9-7900X — I'd decided on 1920X for a while, because I like some of the X399 motherboards, but too many of the Puget Systems tests were giving the edge to the 7900X, and I found an X299 motherboard that was working for me.  It would cost me another NZ$400 for the 7920X, but that would give me a performance hit with Photoshop, and it feels daft to pay more to go slower.ASRock Fatal1ty Professional X299 Gaming i9 — this was not even on my list because it does not appear on most of

Why does it take so long to "Preview Render" parts of my timeline? I just built a new system and it still sucks.I have to wait upwards of 10 minutes to see some clips in real time with minimal effects. So I recently moved up the a Canon c200 with 4k raw files. I need a PC I can use and edit high quality 4k files in real time along with doing heavy effects via after effects and possibly blender and other 3d programs. I do not need real time editing at full res with heavy effects as long as I can do it at 1/4 res but I would like full res playback at lease on basic color corrected 4k footage. I have 2 system builds one INTEL and on AMD and am not sure which to go with. Hi.I just got a new laptop and want to set it up for video editing using Premiere pro & After Effects.It has a SSD running Windows 10 and all the software. (C-drive)Then It has a build in HHD 7200rpm. I Use that drive as Premiere Cache, and I'm rendering to that drive as well.I use an external SSD with thunderbolt USB C 3.1 connection. Hi , I am intending on getting a pc built for premiere pro and would like to ask what kind of detailed specs i should be looking into in order to get the best build i can afford (BUDGET around £1000). so what sort of graphics card/motherboard etc I am looking for a general to semi kind of set up as my work is mainly documentaries/events some short film etc but not really any major special effected,motion graphic based etc or anything high end. My wife edits a lot of videos for her work. For the last couple years or so she has been using an off the shelf HP Envy Phoenix desktop -Intel i7-4770 CPU (4 cores)16GBs RAMNVIDIA GeForce GT 640SanDisk 480GB SSD Drive (Cant remember the exact one).When she would encode a video it would max out the CPU to 100% and use around half the RAM. Hi,i am most of the time an audio guy using audition and recently started using after effects.I bought a new pc : Win 10 pro, Ryzen 7 Processor, 32Gb ram, GeForce GTX1080Ti, several ssd'sStarted working on it and it's really fast, reliable and stable in audition, but when i have a project in after effects, it's slow, very slow, for instance, i have a project ready, i render it on my 6 year old i5 processor laptop with 12Gb ram and no special graphics card and it takes 34 minutes to render, if i render the same project on my new pc it takes more then 4 hours !  Tried contacting the adobe helpdesk, but did not receive any more help, they said, it probably is a hardware issue and they are a software company so, go figure it out yourself...  so now what ?Someone knows why that is happening ? I've also noticed that Ram preview is almost non existing on my new pc, it just wont work...When i opened up task manager, i've noticed that my processor is only at 11% during rendering ?

Samsung’s 950 and 960 Pros run at the specified speeds as long as one does not use Samsung Magic’s latest firmware update.  If the latter is used two of the three M.2 SSDs changed to PCIe 1 x 4 from 3 x 4, with a two third reduction in speed.  This can be resolved with the motherboard firmware update.  However, until recently an update for the X99-E WS/USB3.1 with a Haswell processor was not made available.  The last approved BIOS version was 0501.  Updating to BIOS version 0602 resolved the issue and now all three M.2 SSDs run at the specified speeds.  I took a chance and upgraded the BIOS one level further, to version 2006 and everything seems to run ok.  So, here is my question:  - There are five more upgraded version of the BIOS’ starting with version 3004 all the way to version 3402.  Many of which indicate desirable upgrades to various board function. Hi, I'm planning on building a 4K Video Editing PC to work with Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm interested in what hardware, specifically CPU and GPU are good for 4K Video in Adobe Premiere Pro? But also so I don't get lag when apply effects. I am hoping to run Premiere Pro CC (2017) on a 2011 MacBookPro8,2.  It's a quad core 2 GHz Intel Core i7, with the following graphics cards:AMD Radeon HD 6490MIntel HD Graphics 3000Currently it's only got 4 GB RAM, thinking to upgrade to 16. I haven't installed Premiere yet as I figure the RAM will be completely insufficient to run the program at all at the moment.  But in advance of that upgrade, wondering how much I'm going to be limited by my graphics cards.  I see neither of them on Adobe's list of cards that support GPU Acceleration.  I have read that some graphics cards support it that are not on the list, but with the age of this machine I'm guessing I am probably not lucky enough to have one of those cards.I know that GPU Acceleration is "optional," but I'm curious what I'll be lacking without it.  I currently have Premiere set up on an old MacPro tower that supports GPU acceleration... is there a way to just turn it off and see how it runs?  I'm k

Hi guys!So i've been editing on my macbook pro for a while and just now I bought a new pc mainly for gaming but I really wanted to take advantage of the power for editing as well!Could you guys help me in what configs of Premiere I should go since I know nothing about this hahaha. Hi,I'm looking into buying a new HP Zbook as my Elite 8760w is getting old and quite tired... BUT I'm at lost at the many different variations available...Besides the ram, internal drive, and minor features, I'd like to know if any of you think there are major/significant noticeable difference between their processors and graphics cards, from the cheapest to most expensive (G3 series).Also: for some reason, HP Canada still don't carry their latest G4 models and am wondering if it's better to purchase from the US to get that "bonus" optimal machine. Yet I'm not sure if I'm going to be for their tech support. I've found out that AE uses a single core for rendering. With that being said I am having some difficulties believing I should buy a $45 CPU for my rendering machine. Is there any argument why should someone buy 1300X over the cheeper one, if rendering is the main goal here? I won't be doing any ray-traced stuff. Does it make any sense to buy the 1300x, if I am going to shift to 2014 version of AE?

I color graded a clip in premiere and then replaced it with an after effects composition to apply motion tracking to the clip. After reimporting the clip back into premiere i noticed that the color grading was gone. When attempting to grade it again it also changes the logo I imported in after effects. How can I preserve adjustments previously made in premiere when exporting clips to after effects?

I'm wondering about the processes we are trying to eliminate. There are mentions of processes in various threads, I thought maybe we could do some comparisons here.When I first saw Bill Gehrke​ processes tab with 62 processes I was feeling confident - but I was looking at my Windows 7 install at that point and I was down around the same number. However, my newish 6850k build using Windows 10 - is +30 on that or at 92 about 5 minutes after a fresh reboot. My Task Manager / processes screen is below.I was feeling better about my system when I discovered just recently that Windows (also just recently) now counts the processes differently. This is a change to Windows 10, but not until the "Creators Edition" / 1703 was released. Hi,Is it really necessary for PPro to eat 9,3GB of memory while rendering 14min clip with two video tracks, additional audio track and one title? I mean, I've edited MUCH more complex video sequences successfully with my old laptop, which had back then 4GB of memory and C2D processor. That was some two or three years ago. Now I'm running on a Xeon machine that scores 11k on Geekbench (not much but enough) and has 12GB of RAM installed.On this small editing session Premiere has crashed three times because of low memory. Windows event reporter tells me it ate alone 9,3GB of memory. This should not be necessary for such a small project, and the abrupt nature of those crashes hint to faults in program's memory management. Premiere actually exceeded it's own set memory limit.Normally Windows warns when it thinks user is running out of memory. With premiere, it just kills the program. Once my screens just went black, and the machine stayed unresponsive until forced boot.Whaddya think, is thi

Hi I am about to buy a new laptop and wondering about video cards. I have looked at the Adobe specs and none match the 2 graphics cards that have been suggested by the laptop retailers. Premiere Pro cannot support performance gains for more than 14 cores...I'd like there to be noticeable improvement in performance of live playback, warp stabilizer and exporting WITH higher core counts. Currently, it is obvious that Premiere Pro cannot use any more than 14 cores. It is currently maxing out performance at 14 cores.
