Hello!I want to get into video editing (Adobe Premiere CC) and am only doing this as a hobby, so I don't need top tier spec/equipment. I plan to make drone videos (DJI Mavic Pro & DJI Osmo gimbal) in 4k resolution and want to post them on youtube. I am a complete newbie when it comes to computers, but would like to build my own PC; my price cutoff is $2000 for a customer built desktop + good ~20" monitor (again, I'm only a hobbyist so I don't need the best or a 4k monitor)1) Where do I even start when it comes to building my own computer? Is it pretty easy for anyone to build one?2) What specs/parts do I need to run Adobe Premiere & edit 4k footage?3) What's a good monitor thats around 20" that provides me sharp & accurate colors  (doesn't have to be 4k resolution)?Thanks!!

I have a late 2016 Macbook. with these specs. It works great when I'm just using 1 editing program. But if I have Premiere pro, photoshop and maybe another program open it grinds to a hault, which kills my work time. Wondering if anyone knows of a laptop  no more than $1500 that would be great for editing. I know most people believe mac is the way to go, but it just seems I can get more bang for my buck with pc. Don't have $3000 to drop into Apple. Thanks...

Hello,I make proxy files in Premiere Pro to edit. Will using the proxy files on an SSD make it faster? I have my native media AVCHD on a 4TB HDD.Thinking about getting a 2TB SSD for native and proxy files. Is it worth it? Hi,We plan to purchase a new machine to support Adobe Photoshop, adobe illustrator and Adobe After effects, and would like to understand the system requirements to best support these programs:-1) How does the CPU core affect performance for all 3 applications?What is the recommended number of cores? 2) Other than the ray tracing benefits, is there any other benfits of using a high end graphics card (QuadPro), vs a consumer card?3) GDDR5 memory: How much is recommended?We are using a Windows system.Thanks!

Hi There, I am writing because I am unable to download the most up to date version of Adobe Premier Pro cc ver. 12.0 2017 as of September 2017 which I require to open and continue editing existing film projects in this version of premier.  I am attempting to download this programme on an apple macbook pro, which has OS X ver. 10.10.5. I have purchased and renewed my subscription to adobe creative cloud, uninstalled my old version of premier pro as it was from 2014 and was around version 7.0, and have attempted to download the most up to date version, however, it says that my computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. When I have checked my system requirements, it has looked as though my computer meets all of them. What is the cause of this, and how can i fix it?Best wishes, Ana Scotney.

I am having several issues with my configuration and using Premiere. The first clip just fades to black then the next clip appears once the cross dissolve section is complete. The clips do not fade into one another. Hi there,I have two internal drives on my MacBookPro:- 1x SSD (SATA):          OS X, Premiere Pro CC, Media Cache (at the moment )- 1x HDD (SATA):          I use an external HD (Raid 0, USB 3.0) for my video files.My Question:          Should I move the Media Cache to my internal HDD, so that the SSD can focus on the program?Thanks for your replies,Andreas

I recently upgraded my graphics card from a GTX 780ti to a GTX 1080, I'm using the latest version of Premiere Pro CC.When I had the GTX 780ti my GPU utilisation during rendering was 70% or above and my CPU utilisation was often under 50% but since upgrading to the GTX 1080 my GPU utilisation maxes out at 10% during rendering and my CPU is maxed out at 99-100% at all times.Not only this but my rendering times are slower than they were before the upgrade.I've double checked the Cuda option is selected, I've done clean installs of the latest nvidia drivers as well, is there something else I need to change or select?[Moderator note: moved to appropriate forum]

Why does it take so long to "Preview Render" parts of my timeline? I just built a new system and it still sucks.I have to wait upwards of 10 minutes to see some clips in real time with minimal effects. So I recently moved up the a Canon c200 with 4k raw files. I need a PC I can use and edit high quality 4k files in real time along with doing heavy effects via after effects and possibly blender and other 3d programs. I do not need real time editing at full res with heavy effects as long as I can do it at 1/4 res but I would like full res playback at lease on basic color corrected 4k footage. I have 2 system builds one INTEL and on AMD and am not sure which to go with. Hi.I just got a new laptop and want to set it up for video editing using Premiere pro & After Effects.It has a SSD running Windows 10 and all the software. (C-drive)Then It has a build in HHD 7200rpm. I Use that drive as Premiere Cache, and I'm rendering to that drive as well.I use an external SSD with thunderbolt USB C 3.1 connection. Hi , I am intending on getting a pc built for premiere pro and would like to ask what kind of detailed specs i should be looking into in order to get the best build i can afford (BUDGET around £1000). so what sort of graphics card/motherboard etc I am looking for a general to semi kind of set up as my work is mainly documentaries/events some short film etc but not really any major special effected,motion graphic based etc or anything high end. My wife edits a lot of videos for her work. For the last couple years or so she has been using an off the shelf HP Envy Phoenix desktop -Intel i7-4770 CPU (4 cores)16GBs RAMNVIDIA GeForce GT 640SanDisk 480GB SSD Drive (Cant remember the exact one).When she would encode a video it would max out the CPU to 100% and use around half the RAM. Hi,i am most of the time an audio guy using audition and recently started using after effects.I bought a new pc : Win 10 pro, Ryzen 7 Processor, 32Gb ram, GeForce GTX1080Ti, several ssd'sStarted working on it and it's really fast, reliable and stable in audition, but when i have a project in after effects, it's slow, very slow, for instance, i have a project ready, i render it on my 6 year old i5 processor laptop with 12Gb ram and no special graphics card and it takes 34 minutes to render, if i render the same project on my new pc it takes more then 4 hours !  Tried contacting the adobe helpdesk, but did not receive any more help, they said, it probably is a hardware issue and they are a software company so, go figure it out yourself...  so now what ?Someone knows why that is happening ? I've also noticed that Ram preview is almost non existing on my new pc, it just wont work...When i opened up task manager, i've noticed that my processor is only at 11% during rendering ?

Samsung’s 950 and 960 Pros run at the specified speeds as long as one does not use Samsung Magic’s latest firmware update.  If the latter is used two of the three M.2 SSDs changed to PCIe 1 x 4 from 3 x 4, with a two third reduction in speed.  This can be resolved with the motherboard firmware update.  However, until recently an update for the X99-E WS/USB3.1 with a Haswell processor was not made available.  The last approved BIOS version was 0501.  Updating to BIOS version 0602 resolved the issue and now all three M.2 SSDs run at the specified speeds.  I took a chance and upgraded the BIOS one level further, to version 2006 and everything seems to run ok.  So, here is my question:  - There are five more upgraded version of the BIOS’ starting with version 3004 all the way to version 3402.  Many of which indicate desirable upgrades to various board function. Hi, I'm planning on building a 4K Video Editing PC to work with Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm interested in what hardware, specifically CPU and GPU are good for 4K Video in Adobe Premiere Pro? But also so I don't get lag when apply effects. I am hoping to run Premiere Pro CC (2017) on a 2011 MacBookPro8,2.  It's a quad core 2 GHz Intel Core i7, with the following graphics cards:AMD Radeon HD 6490MIntel HD Graphics 3000Currently it's only got 4 GB RAM, thinking to upgrade to 16. I haven't installed Premiere yet as I figure the RAM will be completely insufficient to run the program at all at the moment.  But in advance of that upgrade, wondering how much I'm going to be limited by my graphics cards.  I see neither of them on Adobe's list of cards that support GPU Acceleration.  I have read that some graphics cards support it that are not on the list, but with the age of this machine I'm guessing I am probably not lucky enough to have one of those cards.I know that GPU Acceleration is "optional," but I'm curious what I'll be lacking without it.  I currently have Premiere set up on an old MacPro tower that supports GPU acceleration... is there a way to just turn it off and see how it runs?  I'm k
