I hear you brother. I have also a brand new Imac and experience several issues with premiere. And most of the time when I work from other suites on other computers, there are similar issues. If Premiere is supposed to be a tool for professionals, you can't be restarting the program or wait for the beach ball all the time. I got to say that I'm leaning towards switching permanently to avid or Davinci. Even though it lacks many of the tools of premiere. The constant interruptions of errors and crashes and whatnot, is too big an annoyance. And while I'm ranting, Adobe has to take responsibility for Wacom integration. The mouse is terrible for your wrist, something that most editors experience during a career. Wacom is one of the most obvious substitutions. But rather than taking this seriously, adobe uses the Wacom board as an explanation for any problem you may have with premiere, and there are a lot. FIX NOW!
.....Updating hardware drivers to the latest version has always been required to keep a pro level NLE, fx, or grading app functioning correctly......WOW , if ever there was a proof needed ...this is it !Sadly to say, but it looks that you definitely have not the slightest idea of the requirements of PRO-Editing-systems nor compositing systems!I'm among other things an ACSR (if you know what that is) , and certified in many other pro-broadcast environments.Mostly all of them have a very strict requirement of a dedicated graphics adaptor and its driver version, or some or more function are not working anymore.Especially those whose realtime abitlity are mainly based on that .In estimated 75% of all systems there is always a bundle of softwarecomponents for each release ,and you better stick to it, instead of acephalic running behind every new update.Even in this forums there is always ...update to the newest....uhmm ..not working...ähh...use the version before....

Hello, just writing to say that last couple of months have really sucked working with Premiere Pro. Way too many unexpected crashes. Lost time of working. At this point I really miss Final Cut 7, and I think these monthly licensee fees I pay are way overpriced. I am considering changing software, even though it's always a hassle to start all over again. I think you really need to look over your whole update system. Makes absolutely no sense to keep on upgrading to new versions that keeps on displaying even more and new bugs and errors. I hope you will manage that because Premiere is fine when it's actually working. / George,Unsatisfied client.
I have logged into adobe remote software setup and troubleshooting for Premiere Pro cc from Adobe overseas support center today.I really hope the adobe tech support engineer is wrong as he says premiere pro does not support gpu acceleration with the new Intel i9 7940 cpu. The adobe tech support guy says premiere pro supports only graphics cards that support quick sync video.I just bought this new $5,000 video editing system for editing with premiere pro using the nvida rtx 2080 cpu, with 32 gigs of ram and an asus motherboardSounds like I will have to cancel my adobe CC subscription if adobe can't get there act together and write their software to support Intel's and Nvidia hardware.I strongly dislike it when people attempt to justify the lack of performance of their Adobe product by passing the buck to someone else.Adobe gives no advance warning that Premiere Pro cc does not support the intel I9 series of processors, and for that you expect the end user to take the brunt of the heat .
To be honest, I'd recommend using Resolve.
When I was first told about this resource, my curiosity was piqued. Direct interaction with the development team.... Being able to detail exactly what I felt needed to be addressed in Premiere. Sounded like a great resource. But a few months later, and it just looks like another bug database filled with endless tales of woe..... I'm guessing nearly half of the 'feature' requests are customers begging to have a critical bug fixed. Yet no-one at Adobe seems surprised nor gravely concerned. And on a side note....I really hope Adobe isn't considering porting Premiere to Linux before they address the majority of the terrible bugs in that list that Windows and Mac users are experiencing! I realize that everyone has their favorite feature they want, but the most important feature is stability... and Premiere hasn't had it for years.I just opened the Creative Cloud desktop app and there is another version of Premiere ready to install.... Instead of an e
So i have trouble with my programs and decided to set up an post. Now found out i need to delete my mail and internet browser to solve the problem. Meanwhile i'm using a anti virus program for safe trouble shooting. i'm such a dumdum i didn't know! Goodbye people of the internet i'm deleting my browser, and gonna put my Adobe license in a cardboard box with bubble wrap so nothing happens to it. If i've ever talk to anyone again i've found a second PC!
Hello to all! I here recently edited a video about my trip, but there’s really no one to ask who would point out the mistakes. Please look and evaluate, what do you think? Would it be okay to show for a portfolio or is the camera shaking too much? Although I tried to focus more on the music and the overall positive vibe :)) I'm training video editing skills at the mo.Thanks in advance for the answers! https://youtu.be/a2oLueMwknM
Switch to DaVinci Resolve Pro. $300 and lifetime upgrades (Editing, Audio, Graphics, and Color all in one program). Me and my other video colleagues are making the switch as soon as our annual adobe subscription expires. Or if you buy any of Black Magic's cameras...they throw in Davinci Pro for free. Only thing I would consider paying monthly for or purchasing is Lightroom.
Is anybody else working with Resolve 15 for a professional level NLE and Color Grading (which now also includes Fusion AND Fairlight) as a replacement for Pr, Ae, Au, and the now defunct Sg, i.e., the "Creative Cloud" monthly subscription? There is a free version of the above which limits mostly collaboration in team environments, and the full studio version is a perpetual license (one time charge) of $299. Black Magic has purposely avoided the 'subscription model' that Adobe has gone all in on. I refuse to rent my SW, so Adobe has left me (at least) no choice but to look for alternatives to replace my perpetual CS6 Master Collection.Hard core Adobe fanboys need not respond to this post. I'm looking for honest feedback from working professionals (if there are any who frequent this forum). I come here because Adobe isn't mentioned very often on professional film post forums (except for the occasional Ae comment). Oh, and Blackmagic just introduced a newly designed and engineered R
Just another Adobe issue I guess. There are so many. It hasn't always been this way.
Dear Adobe,I don't know how your quality control works but it's literally everything new that's being added doesn't work on launch and serveral version updates after still nobody takes time to fix it.I reported a bug in lumetri with non 16:9 ratio sequences where changing whites or black would cause glitches. It took you guys aparently a whole year to acknowledge (yes you blamed nvidia at first) it was your fault and finally fixed it with v13.Now there's the comparison view. This bad boy is totally broken on launch and still doesn't work as intended. With just two lumetri layers it already can't handle anything and turns black.Turning off and on the lumetri layers fixes it but don't think about scrubbing again, it'll throw you back to black.Ok just single frame comparison no funky stuff then? Oh wait the comparison view doesn't even show the image correctly.Below is the comparison view with the exact same frame both left and right. The actual view is darker than the reference frame. Who c
I have done some recent tests, comparing multicam video playback performance in Adobe Premiere Pro to Apple Final Cut Pro X. I thought this could be of interest for more people, and I really wonder what Adobe has to say about this. This is not a scientific test by any means, but I have tried my best to visualize the differences to maybe help explain why there is such a big performance difference. Take it for what it's worth. As I say in my final notes, the inefficiencies in resource usage/management in Premiere Pro appears to be a problem in general for video playback performance, which becomes very noticeable when adding additional streams of video. The extremely aggressive/excessive pre-fetching is certainly not working in favour of Premiere Pro, especially when playing video via TCP/IP from a NAS. To make sure storage wasn't a bottleneck, i tested using internal 4TB flash storage for the media files, as you can see below. It seems like Adobe is asking for data faster than actually nee
DaVinci Resolve...there's the fix.
You know darn well no one here is asking the difference between a save function and a save-as function. You're deliberately deflecting because Adobe has no interest in fixing this problem which clearly has been going on for YEARS.
This is the most unstable monthly contract software I've ever had the misfortune of purchasing. If I thought they'd honor it, I'd ask for a refund.
Adobe's solution to customers having this problem appears to be:1) Ignore it2) Go on Forums every 6 months to give non-advice and suggest uploading a log of some kind3) Keep taking your money
So, I must be one of the 5 people that actually use this great product. Shame. I have written whole feature screenplays and TV shows in this program and I actually love it and use it more than any of your other products - even though I also work as a professional editor and compositor (I used to use After Effects and Premiere all the time) but, since Black Magic Design has encroached significantly on Adobe and Apple turf with Davinci Resolve, I have had little use for the entire CC suite - except for Adobe Story.Has it not occurred to anyone at Adobe that integration of production pipelines (including photo editorial, animation, and commercials) begins with the word - with story ideas written in some fashion that gets the idea across - and that idea is carried through the entirety of a creative endeavors realization by a written script of some kind? The idea that you would abandon this amazing product is quite shocking and short-sighted - especially when it offers insight and intellige
Hi, is this still ongoing! I would suggest you switch over to Da Vinci Resolve, it's reliable and has no 'monthly rental' fees.
Kevin - I think what everyone is saying is that Adobe would be far better served qualifying a driver version and delivering it with the software - which is what Avid do. In fact make it a pre-requisite on installation. Once that version is qualified you don't touch it until the next release of the software and the next driver qualification. From a user perspective the problem is Adobe does no driver qualification on a video product that depends on it. Or if they do it is not common knowledge and it is not communicated well.
The playback engine needs some love from Adobe asap.Resolve uses the GPU for decoding and offers significantly better H.264 playback performance over Adobe software.Even that needs proxies at 4K.Proxies are the solution for H.264 media. Accept that gentleman, and you can get to work.
Yeah…that .mov issue is a pain. I’ve considered moving but If I had to go back to old projects for whatever reason I would need premiere. What would you use to replace After Effects? Or would DiVinci cover compositing also?Sent from Mail for Windows 10
you never never never NEVER update any Adobe product and expect it to work! That's not how Adobe works, their updated products are only ever worse, 1000 times worse, or completely and utterly unusable. What you'll need to do it install an older version of the software, try 2017.
I have been using premiere for 14 years. It seems like multiple times a year I have crashes, at least since the CC. Today I had another. More so, it locks up. I just noticed there's another update. But, the update is hanging up too. EVERYTHING ELSE ON MY COMPUTER IS RUNNING PERFECT. There is no reason why I shouldn't be able to just do all the basic editing I've been doing for over a decade without having the program lockup. I lost some really nice cuts this morning. It just hangs there like it's done before. I open task manager and all my resources are not even being used. Here's a screen shot of my task manager next to adobe locked up on a spot where a low resolution video was inserted into the timeline. It locked up after I clicked on the project panel to bring in more media. So I force close premiere and reopen it. I bring in the new media but only the audio will drag into the timeline! So, I look to see if there's updates because recently there was an update and after that some is
